Thank you
Oh, Kate, you are THE BEST! I haven't laughed this much in forever! While I admire your baking skills this is more challenging then I can manage. Thank you and Anna for leaving in the funny bits. You made my day.
The crunch test with your mic was hysterical. 😂
Kate: Your face as you were chewing the window biscuits, was too precious!
Your very animated expressions during the taste test is priceless!!
Anyone being harsh about moving Norma out of the room is nuts. ...And it is those "silly bits" that make you both real and lovable.
Our Christmas tree grew in a pot and was brought in and decorated every year. One year we hung chocolates on it... well turns out there was a colony of ants that lived in the pot. The warm of the house and the chocolate brought those ants out and they ate most of the chocolate before we even realized it. They would make short work of your biscuits 😁
Mary Berry looks a character from Keeping Up Appearances. I hope the dough had a good nap in the oven. LOL! =)
When I was a kid I made these with sugar cookie dough and life savers (here in the U.S.). It was fun to see you making these.
yes! i was going to say - Lifesavers work well and stay brightly coloured! ...but i don't know if they have them in the UK...?!
ellenrik we have something the same but they are called fruit polos (we have normal polos which are the mint ones..like your lifesavers)
Oh! Thank you, Anna, for leaving the funny bits in! I am still chuckling about needing a heavier tool for bashing and at the look on your face during the taste test! You didn't need to say anything, what you were thinking was written on your face! And you weren't harsh with Norma. :-)
Took me a few minutes to understand that your meant cookies. Biscuits are something different here. Yours are beautiful.
Oh Norma you are precious. I love your valiant spirit. Anyone who would think you were harsh with Norma, has never tried to cook with pets in the house. I have 4 rescue dogs that I dearly love, but the kitchen is off limits when I cook. Please thank Anna for leaving in the "silly bits" we need some silliness in our lives! Happy Holidays to you all!
I made these last year with the grandchildren. I still have a bit of melted sweet stuck to the kitchen floor. 😂
Oh Kate, you have such a great sense of humor!!
Your expression while tasting the biscuit is priceless!
I love that you left in the part about resting the dough in the oven!! 😂 And also the clip of Anna editing. The cookies look beautiful.
So glad Anna left the funny bits in because I can relate which made it funnier. You're too cute.
Mary might have told us to put the dough back in the fridge to get cold again before baking. Thanks Anna and Kate! You are good sports!
Oh Kate you did make me laugh tasting these beauties. I hope you didn’t break a tooth! Great video and I think they will look lovely on the tree with strategically places lights behind them. Thank you💕
Oh Kate, in my opinion this video is one of the best ever! The look on your face as you were crunching your way through that biscuit was priceless, especially as you said you wouldn't want to eat more than one...a year. Thank you and Anna so much for helping to make Christmas so much fun for us viewers xx
Wouldn’t want to eat more than one-a year! Priceless. ❤️
It's after Christmas now, but watching the Advent vids still brightens my day!
Ohhh. I like these stained glass cookies. I used to make them for the children but I used lifesaver candies and crushed them with a hammer. I had 8 children and they loved them.
I love Mary Berry, and you too Kate! These Advent videos are bringing smiles and happiness to not just me but no doubt all your viewers. Thank you Anna for your humorous touch. Merry Christmas to you both. 🎄🤶🎅
It’s not something you’d want more than one of, in a year!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Your facial expressions were priceless!!!
You are a delight. Never made these before...let's put them in the oven and see what happens.
Thanks for sharing the silly bits.
Translation for transatlantic viewers: boiled sweets equal hard candy.
I liked the crunching sound effects.
Thanks for leaving the funny bits in! I loved your expression when you were taste testing! And the crunching of the candy centers!! Another smiling end to this Advent day! 😊
The face you made eating the biscuit was priceless and said it all.
Funny to See you Banking those bisquits, dear Kate. I bake them quite often as eatable christmas tree decoration and as decorative and eatable christmassy Gift for friends. But I don‘t crunch the sweets. I cut the coloured „Campino“-Sweets into halfs. During the baking of the bisquits they melt easily. So the transparent window is very thin and clear and give by eating only a little chrunch in contrast to the marvelous soft melting bisquits.
I‘m baking thislike roundabout 8 to 10 cm large trees, stars and hearts with these bright windows in all colours. Also pink an green... 😉
They all look amazing in front of the lightend tree or as a garland hanging down the windows in daylight and give just a bit more glance and blind to this special time of the year.
Best wishes! Yours, Sabine
Biscuits are pretty for hanging in the tree perhaps the birds will like & enjoy 😉
Everything about this Advent series is delightful! I'll definitely try the biscuit recipe.
You’re blessed to have such a wonderful relationship with Anna.
Wonderful Mary Barry! I watched ALL of the episodes. Those stained glass cookies are better as Christmas tree decorations,. Anna is so cute.
Kate, you are too precious for words! You are a Christmas gift to us all and we love you!
Got a big smile on m’face. Luvved the crunching when you tested a biscuit. I’d give them a 7.✌️🇨🇦❤️🙏
You did a good job. They are so pretty. Bet they taste great “in the interest of research” hahahahaha. My teeth are to old to do hard candy. Love your humor. I did have lots of laughs. Thanks for that. Really needed it. Anna is so beautiful and sweet. John got lucky.
Lovely video...just watched the Hercules Candy peanut brittle video and now this and both have brought back such sweet memories of holiday baking with my mom. It is just one week since she passed unexpectedly so this is a strange time now. I baked with my very young grandchildren yesterday...you will enjoy doing this with your granddaughter when she is a bit older. Thank you for the lovely series, Kate.
The consensus is in and the expressions on your face have made this a top video! OMG I'm cracking up just like your cookies (biscuits) are "cracky". Always remember when in the USA, don't order biscuits and expect them to be cookies. Biscuits here are not sweet at all and are usually served at breakfast. They are best served hot with butter and jam.
Dear sweet Kate, with no disrespect, this made me giggle...nooe, cracked me up and on a day that I needed a belly laugh. I so enjoy all you do, what a joy
Oh my goodness, your" Quality control" taste testing had me laughing out loud. Your facial expressions were priceless! I started watching you from video #1 a couple of months ago and just love watching. I'm very much like you in the fact I love trying ALL crafts. Whatever comes along I like to give it a go!! My passion right now is quilting. Hello from Richmond BC Canada (suburb of Vancouver)
"it's not something you'd want more than one of............................ a year!" 😂🤣😂🤣 lovely video, they look great 😊 Roo x
Hallo Kate, you have to fill the stars with Gummi bears and then bake them. Then they are not hard and also shine through. 😊🐱
You are so adorable! You lifted my mood today, as you often do. Thank you.❤️😊😘
Thanks for the giggle. I am glad you didn`t break a tooth. Cheers!
Your one of two UA-camrs I watch every time you upload, your an inspiration as well as a good laugh
When you were looking straight at me and asking if we should do icing, I was enthusiastically shaking my head up and down and saying " yes, let's do"!.... and all 3 of my dogs were staring at me with heads clocked, like " yes! we agree!
....I wm going to try to make these but maybe make the holes for the for the candy, smaller, so hopefully you can just suck on them, instead of taking the chance of chipping a tooth!.. well, I will just see how that turns out!
I like that yours has such a nice size
"stained glass window pane" though!... they will look very pretty on the tree!
Your videos are nice friendly and pleasant...you are good for the soul ! Thank you for all your videos. Love the lap cat..lol
Aw Kate you had me in fits of laughter. So funny. Those biscuits sounded dangerous ty
I love baking i make my own mince pies for me and a fruit cake for me, summer time i picked some lovely apples of few trees that belong to no one and made a apple cake and apple crumble. This year i going to have a lovely Christmas day for me and my pets we may not have family or friends its not a big deal i still will have a nice day, plus me and my blossom my pug are going to midnight mass i been doing that for many years it be all new to Blossom she will love it, she is nearly 2 she is my love, she is my sugar and spice and all things nice. Prays be to our dear animals that bring us so much love and great company i got Blue Bell as well my cat he is a lovely boy 16 year old. Love your Video its great you are like a story book its lovely, love sent to you and your cats.
Merry christmas🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄
Use cheap boiled sweets and variegate the colours for a stained glass window effect. I don't know why, it works better with sweet shop loose boiled sweets.Your kitchen is lovely. Happy Christmas.
Laughed so hard as you did your taste test!!
Your expressions are priceless!
😂😂😂
Wow, the biggest coincidence, just watched Mary on the BBC making these cookies!
Loved the end the most when you bit into your “cracky” cookies! Ha😂I will definitely makes these but not for eating! Loved the way the light shines through them. They will be my window decoration. Will get my grandkids involved
😆😅😂🤣 I couldn’t stop laughing when you said you may eat one... a year! Your facial expressions were just precious and crackly. You’re quite funny 😁
I was listening to you with headphones on and laughing so hard my husband wanted to know what was so funny. I told him about the video, you are priceless, it made my day to have a good laugh. I'm glad you kept in the 'funny bits. Many thanks.
Just the experience of doing it was worth it! I do the same thing with my cat when he wants to jump up on the kitchen table.
I smiled a lot watching this video. Thank you so much! Sending love.
Oh they look so good, but my teeth could not handle that crunch. A thick jelly would work for me with tea. Love ya, Kate.
Your face "testing" the biscuits was classy!!! ;) ;)
Hats off to Anna!!!!!
I'm very anxious to see your Christmas tree, Kate. I know it will be gorgeous.
Ha, ha. Bashing the candy was great!!! Good thing the cats have been put away. That would have freaked them out. Fun times. Thank you Kate.
Can't wait to see your tree, Kate! The cookies will look beautiful on it!
Next time you could make Linzer cookies. They're a favourite in our family - somewhat similar in look, basically the same biscuit (could involve other things, too, though), but instead of being translucent, they're sandwiched with redcurrant jam, and DELICIOUS. ;-)
Love your tree window and so enjoy your videos. Thanks Kate.
Kate you are unbelievably adorable! You absolutely crack me up with laughter!
Oh my word you made me laugh ... I also rest dough in the oven :) .... put dog food in the washing machine soap dispenser ... Now, about that cracky window bit of the biscuit, please be careful and look after your teeth. Last Xmas I was given a popular triangular shaped choc as a gift and bit into it, missed, caused concussion (!) of the tooth, tooth nerve and jaw and ended up losing that tooth in a dentist chair. Love your behind the scenes bits too, so thank you for the giggle and thank you Anna for the editing.
Oh, Kate, I was chuckling as you were fussing at Norma. You are such a meanie! ;>) My cats are not allowed on the table or kitchen counters at any time. I bet you would like Linzertorte or Linzer cookies better. They have a jelly/jam center.
They certainly do take a great amount of time! I think I would eat the biscuit and leave the candy!
So that's what I've been doing wrong. Letting the dough rest in the fridge instead of the oven..lol. Laughing with you. Nice editing Anna. Loved the look on your face when you bit into the cookie, priceless! We have Life Saver candies in the US that most people use for these cookies. They melt more evenly. I know you won't be making these again any time soon. They will look lovely on the Christmas tree. 🎄
Ooh! I love your cookie tin! I guess y’all would probably call it a biscuit tin. Beautiful!
You made me giggle as you were trying the biscuit!!! A fun video and can't wait to see them on your tree!!
Love these biscuits & a big thankyou for introducing me to herculees candy ,I have a lot of interesting clips to catch up with.I just watched the mammoth marble slab moving day ,and needed a relaxing cup of tea after all that pushing
Loved the face you made biting into the cookies, couldn’t tell if they were good. I’d love to make decorations like this but in Florida it would become a Cockroach Buffet!
I loved this...especially watching you crunch your way through that biscuit. You made such a funny face! So very real, this one! LOL! I'm doing some baking tomorrow, I will be thinking about your video...
Dale from Canada.
Your face while eating that stained glass window biscuit was priceless! LOL! Got a great chuckle over that one! TFS the inspiration and smiles, Kate!
My teeth wouldn't take it , children would love them at a party , they would also enjoy making them
I am so enjoying all of these, you are a delight Kate, thank you and Merry Christmas from Texas.
LOVE it!!! Kate, your EXPRESSION is priceless eating the biscuit. Anna thank you for helping Kate make this possible for our enjoyment.
Ouch, ouch, ouch! Plus loads of laughter from me! Such a pleasure to spend Advent with you Kate 😊
I think you’re darn good at icing! I love the way you’ll attempt anything! Being the American that I am, when you started doing the cut outs, I thought, “Oh, she’s making cookies!” Here I was waiting for what we call biscuits, and I don’t know what you would call them (more like Irish soda bread, I think). I know better, but I just wasn’t thinking. 🤪
LOL....my husband keeps giving me funny looks wondering why I’m laughing at my IPad. Like the cookies, might make those😁
Oh, as you were smashing with your rolling pin, I was saying, "stop". I dented mine years ago doing just that and now all my doughs have bumps.
I enjoyed watching Mary Berry on the cooking show. It hasn’t been the same without her but I still watch. Never cared for stain glass cookies.
Really enjoying this series.. The biccuits looked lovely! Thank You!
Thank you for the Advent videos! 🥰
I am your new subscriber and I am going for one episode I curiously like to see the next one which appears on the screen. Ihave become a big fan of yours Kate. You are an inspiration to me,so happy, energetic and creative. God bless you.
oh my teeth lol!!!! Awwww shame Norma couldn't help. Loved this video.
Well, they are lovely & fun. New to me as well. :) tyfs! Hello Mary! Thank you too! :)
In the states, we use jam & jellies. A bit kinder on the teeth!
I enjoy your cookies ( we call them in US).You are so much fun to watch.
10! 10! 10! Blessed Advent!
😂😂😂😂😂 loves the silly bits in this one. So nice to see Anna at the end too. I’m not a fan of hard candy so I don’t think I’ll try these. I’ve got the flu so this has made me feel better as I sip my tomato soup.
Well done Kate!!! Love your biscuits thank you 💕💕
Oh Kate you are so delightfully funny and down to earth. Love watching you, your family and your great relationships with them!
Loved this! Certainly gave me a chuckle!
I buy those Foxes for my daughter and *Glacier Dark - liquorice & aniseed* for me. I think I recognise the fire-tool - pulls the ashes tray out from the bottom of the fire? Memories :)
Loved watching this video in your delightful kitchen. I feel like
baking cookies (biscuits) now, Thanks for sharing and thanks to Anna for her editing skills. Always a joy!
Maybe a marble rolling pin? They look lovely.
Thank you for sharing I’m going to try to make some I just love watching you would love to spend the day with you love all that you make and and the story you tell have a wonderful merry Christmas all the best Donna from Canada
I was trying to think what I could use instead of the hard candy...haven't solved that yet but my ears pricked up when you said the cookie was pretty good. I'll eat a pretty good cookie! But my teeth are afraid of them :)
I thought they would be great ornaments. Iv'e been wanting to make stained glass christmas ornaments with little seaglass just haven't moved beyond thinking about it.
Smiled all the way through!
