- 💭 Found a Harley Sportster at the auction and decided to see it in person. Whether this bike is worth the headache is still up for debate.

Sorry to hear about the "Ranger." Wish you all the luck. Sportster will ending up looking good. Thanks.
it's insane how big a difference a clean title makes. Bike can be trash but it would still be worth more than a pristine salvage bike
The clean title bike is well worth the extra $600. Here in PA, reconstructed title means it's worth about 1/2 of what a clean title bike is worth. I've done this several times and that has always worked out to be case, so you have to be really careful buying salvage title bikes.
Be careful, man, auctions are addictive!
Seems you may be to late on the warning 😂
😂😂😂
I love these vids very informative of how these auctions work and what to look for
Glad you like them!
Best about these Sportsters that there are tons of after market parts.
Without question there will be a lot more damage than can be seen. Very likely there is frame damage or at least front fork damage requiring replacement. Almost without exception, the cost to repair this kind of damage is significantly more than first 'guesstimated'. Caveat Emptor.
Battery covers on that bike are on back order through Harley. Jp cycles has had em. Good score Bic
Going going gone! 😂
Solid
Salute
Nice fixer upper . My frist thing I'd do is look at getting a larger gas tank even if I had to modify a tank to fit
the 4.5 tank from the custom model bolts right up
That’s good info
Trolls…….they’re everywhere🤪 just like elves on shelves. ‘Preciate the grind bro✊😎
You know I’m gonna trial by fire this thing anyway.
@@BrandonBicasso wouldn’t expect anything less bro✊🤪
Entering into a sellers market you may very well make more than you think on that
I think there’s potential in it for sure!
I’m sportster guy
You would want change tank anyway
Here’s why bigger 1200
Has a smaller tank
883 bigger has a bigger tank believe me
They suck down some gas good luck 🍀
I’m glad to you won bid change back make
Belt sprocket smaller is to large and take regular size tank it doesn’t matter if tank is dented you would be stopping for gas every
45 miles peanut tank looks good but isn’t efficient you get mad stopping for gas and if your on good ride hey fellas I need gas .. lol 😂 wooo whooo
Nooooooooo! In the current market it will be a struggle to get $4500 for that bike with salvage title. OEM speedometer is going to be very expensive. The tank is toast. Those trees are mid glide and not narrow glide so the fork trees are not as common and cheap. Good thing is plenty of people have removed their OEM 2.1 gallon tanks in favor of larger tanks. Should be able to find a clean one on market place for $100-$300. To me not worth it but you'll get great content at least. Clicking to the next vid now.
ez flip
You might wanna check out prices on Harley parts. They are anything but "cheap". You're paying for the Harley name. Take it from a sportster owner. I would've passed on this bike, if it were me. Just my .02
Depends on how you look at it. Was paying $400 for a upper triple on Chief. Can find them for $60 on Sportster. There’s potential in it.
@BrandonBicasso $60 used perhaps. Not new. I would pass, but just my opinion.
I think it's awesome what you're doing though, bro. If I had room in my garage, I'd be doing the same thing. Much respect.
For a full custom barhopper with apes and all the trimmings its an okay buy. For reselling it's trash. Salvage title kills the value.
Man not worth. Sportsters go for 3-4k in working condition all day.
They have horrible resale and with a salvage title, its really not worth it.
We will see! I’m in regardless at this point. 🤟🏾
@@BrandonBicasso well i hope it works out for you, i hear they are a fun lightweight bike to ride.
@@matzrat5006They are definitely fun to ride. So nimble and responsive. But yeah, resale value on the sportster sucks. You rarely get out of them what you put into them.
@@Chris-0113 thats what i miss riding my dyna, that lightweight feel and ability to really have fun in the corners. My bike looks sporty , but at 700 pounds she is a cruizer.
@matzrat5006 I know what you mean. I still have my Sporty and I've got a Victory Jackpot that's heavier than the Sportster. Looks Sporty as hell, but at about 675 lbs it doesn't handle like the sportster. I love them both though for different reasons.
