What it boils down to is this… everyone needs to stop comparing every movie he makes to the Sixth Sense. That movie was a one of a kind and great for that time period. This movie while not so dark, is very entertaining. Will it win Oscar’s? No, but for a date night movie it’s really good and keeps you guessing just enough. It’s entertaining and after all that’s why we go to the movies. Definitely recommend.

actually subverted my expectations, I thought it would suck but turned out to be scarier than most movies I've seen before. From the viewpoint of the killer, it's easy to empathize due to him showing genuine emotions throughout the film. He's just a guy who didn't get the help he needed when he was a kid. Knowing why he does what he does still doesn't justify his actions, and I really like that about the movie. It doesn't victimize the killer or make him a completely heartless monster. Anyway, 5 stars and I would reccomend!! Haven't heard an audience clap as much as this for a long time.

If M. Night decide to make a sequel for Trap I'll be there for it. I thought this movie was a fun timing...... ✌️😶

The previews for this movie really had me psyched. Contrary to what I've seen others say, I thought it started off slow and then got better midway. It was weird, strange, but not scary. It felt like the director didn't know what to do with the material. Ariel Donoghue was excellent playing Josh Hartnett's daughter, as was the actor who played Jamie the vendor at the music concert. Hartnett was outstanding.. always in command, confident... and very easy on the eyes.

It’s fascinating to see how people can have such different opinions/perspectives of things. Watched this movie with my wife and we enjoyed it. Josh Hartnett did a wonderful job. There were parts of the film that seemed a bit comical but I want to believe that’s the direction Shyamalan wanted to go. Was it his greatest work? No but it was unique none the less. The film was family friendly and didn't have propaganda bs all through out it like some of his latest work. Definitely recommend seeing.

Loved this movie! Josh Hartnett is a brilliant actor and especially in this role. His terrifying facial expressions will give you chills. Oddly, given what you know about his character, you find yourself hoping he escapes and you feel empathy as to why he does what he does. M. Night Shyamalan movies never disappoint and this one is creatively twisty leading you down a path of shocking turns.

I honestly loved this movie so much! The actors played their roles perfectly. Going into the movie I thought the premise was too simple to possibly make a movie about but I was very wrong. There is lots of surprises and much suspense with this movie making it up there with one of the best horror/action movies I have ever seen. It is definitely worth watching and I would do it again in a heartbeat!

There’s so much to love about this movie i have to say this is the best movie that M. Night Shyamalan has directed it has a psycho killer who brings his daughter to see her favorite artist in a live concert who happens to be an American singer-songwriter and actress / and the real life daughter of director M.Night Shyamalan who can sing and dance what a beautiful talented voice she has I felt like I was watching a movie while attending a live music concert at the same time this movie has it all from A psychopath killer who is a loving father to his daughter mixed with comedy and music I saw myself Rooting for Copper who is played by Josh Hartnett I will be seeing this movie again this weekend for all moviegores this movie is a must see enjoy 😊

This movie is incredible! Not to mention the range of skills & talents shown by Josh Harnett but M. Night Shyamalan daughter held her own and was a strong positive talented female role model. Watch the movie at the cinemas, it is fantastic! Last movie like this was Snake Eyes with Nicolas Cage which was also great. Bravo!

I think Hartnet did an amazing job! I thought he could only do romantic comedies. Can't and do not believe bad reviews at all. Hartnet proved he is a fine dramatic actor and I am NOT easy to impress. Add to that Hayley Mills I watched as Pollyanna and The Parent Trap as I was growing up. The only thing that would have added to the script would have been Cooper working as a fireman and maybe also doing some minor improvements to the home. Also, I have NEVER written a review of a movie before.

My fiancé and I were really excited to see this movie after watching the trailer-it had been a while since we felt this eager about a film. Unfortunately, the trailer was the most exciting part. The movie itself was filled with uninspired twists and dragged on far too long. I even whispered the outcome of several scenes, including the final one, to my fiancé, and I was spot on. With M. Night Shyamalan, there's usually a twist that makes you reconsider the entire story, but that never happened here. I’m giving it one star, and that's only because I got to enjoy a date night with my love.

I loved this movie. It knew exactly what it was. Fun, ridiculous, mocking and riveting. M Night didn't rely on scary thrills, he made you question and think. I believe he was mocking our current zeitgeist and the ridiculous power of pop culture ...... even to save lives. He's having fun like a black comedy. I read no reviews and knew nothing about the plot, which was the best way to see it. Josh Harnett owns the film. Every frame. So much so ..... that despite his monstrous behavior, in the last scene there I was rooting for him. You could call him, the thinking man's serial killer. I hope he's in more movies. He's under utilized in Hollywood.

What a shame. I think this director has a promising touch. He always starts off with a really good story. That really captivates you and holds on to you, you hold on to it. The storyline seems to be spot on and it's really wickedly entertaining and it grasps you he does have A special touch you choose is a good story line. The you're very psychologically inclined, keep you on your toes. But then he messes it up, he can't finish it.Almost everyone of his movies have a terrible ending.he just doesn't know how to finish. You think that somebody would have told him that by now.

perhaps some may seem to ignore that the "PLOT TWIST" in this movie that made me..."ahh?! ok that's why the police had a hint the butcher "attending" the concert moment"... is that it's actually the butcher's wife was actually involved right from the beginning and was the initiator of the "TRAP"

As someone growing up seeing so many parents just decided to ignore or neglect their kids becuase they believed their own business is more important, I find the most unreal and jarring part is that as a father, the main character decides not to abandon his daughter at the concert even after he is so sure that the police is after him. The fathers I knew would have told their kids to go home alone by bus and disappeared within 30 min the movie starts

But your idea would not work out in the context of the movie. The main character is made to be strange and out of place, not the same as others. He is supposed to not act normal, and not leaving his daughter there all alone is not what mist people would do

Even giving 1 star to this movie is being extremely generous.
This movie is not good, I don’t know how else to put it. M.Night movies either go great or are bad and this is unfortunately is in the bad category. I kept expecting more and each time I was let down. The acting made me laugh at times it wasn’t meant to be comical. There were many times in the movie where I became aware that these were actors, that shouldn’t happen in a film. I found myself rolling my eyes and hoping the next scene would be better than the last, it wasn’t. Will M. Night ever release a classic like The Village and The Sixth Sense again? I doubt it, I hope the movie directed by his daughter will be better.

The *good* is, the premise. It's a really fun idea, for which I had high hopes.
And then.... everything else is pretty darn bad: dialogue is CLUNKY, story flow is non sensical and exposition abounds bc, apparently, we the audience cannot put 2 and 2 together without being hit on the head with (unnecessary) rambling from characters.
