In that position the only real answer is “you know what, I don’t have answers to these questions and I may have been a little bit irresponsible in my claims” and promise to not do it, because it’s not a good look when you get down to it.

I constantly ask why. I encourage people to ask me why more. I am not uncomfortable answering the question why because I have thought through my positions. This NoBullshit guy haven't and that's why he gets annoyed. He doesn't know. He haven't thought about it. The answer isn't even important to the narrative he wishes to push. He's a simpleton. When people like you complain about "overthinking" I become more and more convinced there is no such thing. There's only simpletons who don't want to think too deeply about certain subjects because it could potentially hurt their narrative, their shallow worldview. There's nothing wrong asking why when you're trying to get to the bottom of an issue. Memeing and shittalk aside, I think your problem is that you're afraid to entertain the reasons for certain things. If Destiny says he has some data, and shows you the data, it's a strong bet it's been more rigorously tested than some speculative point you just pulled out of your head. That doesn't mean you're wrong or he's right, but you should seek to engage with what the data is saying, instead of backing away from it.
I don't think the truth lies on one side, but I do think the whole SJWs vs. Shitlords culture war is creating a situation where people are feeling pressured not to look deeper into the facts for fear their peers will turn on them. You shouldn't be afraid to be wrong. I've changed my views more in the last 3 years than the whole rest of my life, from staying open to arguments. I don't agree with the left, the right, the SJWs or the Shitlords, I look for answers, and have the courage to do that.
Good luck with it man, but please have a little more faith in people not trying to trap you or some crap, and don't fear being wrong, because most of us end up wrong about a fuckton of stuff before we're through.
