You can hear the emotion in his voice, in the way he sings, in his facial expressions, in his behaviour...it all makes for a completely raw and moving experience. Fantastic, fantastic, absolutely fantastic...He is hurting so much, but damn, he sings so well.
My most impressive afternoon at this festival ever; was crying with him, because everything was outstanding this afternoon: Incredible location, a silent audience, that was just in with the songs and a singer couldnt believe what was happening. I will never ever forget this afternoon!!! Thank you Primavera and much more thank you Twilight Sad!
Some tracks on youtube you keep on and on and on coming back to. This is one of mine. Awesome performance. Few songs affect me like this does. Very few.
So pretty, this song. To think James approaches all of this like it might be his last go at a microphone. He states this in an interview of late, for the new recording. It works, doesn't it? I hope it keeps working, even if they don't and even if they *do* get a wee bit of the Chvrches' royalty and touring flow.
One of the better acoustic performances of this song. The EP version has a lot of complexity and layers going on sonically and is one of their strongest songs so it's really difficult to do stripped down. Let alone it's clearly one of the more difficult tracks for James to perform vocally due to the amount of emotion in it. I can relate, I'm sure my neighbors are concerned when I'm belting it out in the shower. According to wiki this was supposed to be the opener to their second album, forget the night ahead, but reflection of the television proved too good of an introduction and they couldn't find an appropriate place for the wrong car. I completely agree, there's no good place for this song other than essentially isolating it as it's own thing. Just would have preferred the EP to come with the rest of the b sides is all (in the blackout, the cover of suck, and the acoustic version of the neighbors can't breathe). Protect these lads at all costs.
Would like to sit down and have a chat with the person who disliked this miserably beautiful performance.
Love to see this live. Thanks! x

I am really hurting for him, what an amazing performance, this is why he is one of my favourite vocalists ever!
