"How LSD was discovered, the extreme dangers of using it and how it affects the brain and body."
"I don't know what you do with a dead elephant" Best line in this video imo.

-- A "trip" fits neatly into a weekend pass.
-- You can feel "Godlike."
-- LSD should _always_ taken with a guide.
-- [IMPORTANT:] Any flying expeditions should be taken out of the *_first_* story window, only.
-- Dead elephants present a waste disposal problem.

The setting LSD is taken.... Nothing could be truer,
I was a lifeguard in Myrtle Beach in the 80s and went to a party with other Guards. We were all drug tested even back then as employees of the County so afaik none of us did drugs.
I began laughing uncontrollably and we just all sat in a circle laughing until our faces hurt. We eventually ventured outside "big mistake" and wondered onto a putt putt course with dinosaurs, volcanoes... City of Myrtle beach police were called and we figured out we had been spiked "micro dots" which were put in our drinks. I tripped for 24 hours and for another day my brains were whipped like potatoes and I couldn't hold a thought.
As someone who has done multiple trips in my younger days, this video turned into a comedy routine about halfway through. The military was going to use this with troops and then decided not, thus this Scare Tactic video. One thing he's right about: unless you know who made it, you have no clue what exactly you're taking.
According to recently declassified documents it was almost 100% manufactured by CIA chemists,so no worries here ! 🤤🤤🤤

This ranks right up there with reefer madness and other completely ridiculous propaganda level films that came out from the 60s to the 80s. Permanently insane, genetic damage, no decision-making for months... thats just wild and anyone with any actual experience knows just how backwards and false it is which removes any credibility. Stuff like this and other scare tactics in the 70s and 80s did nothing to dissuade us in using drugs but by its incredulous claims cause us to believe nothing of it including what actual facts there were. By this standard I should be psychotic and my kids should have three arms, anyone read about the crazy guy with the three armed children? No? You'd think that it would have been noteworthy... The saddest part is that there have been studies and things like LSD have been tried in therapeutic settings with success treating a range of conditions from anxiety, addiction and most ironic in the face of this video, PTSD which has such a high occurrence in those who have served...
Moral of video; please do not use it. Leave it to our folks at the CIA to administer to unknowing victims only.
Actually, Hoffmann greatly enjoyed his first 250 microgram LSD trip after he got over the initial surprise, and reporting feeling wonderful the next morning.
He went on to be a powerful proponent for LSD use, albeit on a far more controlled level than standard recreational modes, and continued to personally take LSD throughout his life.
I know but what can you expect a moron like this to say, I'm surprised he didn't say that Hoffman first jumped out a window then scalped someone then cut off their head then ate their brains while screaming I've got something excellent you should recommend to the fuhrer Dr Morrell LOL

weird to hear a military man talk about the importance of “set and setting” re: lsd way back then

4:24 what I myself heard Hoffman say was not what this guy said. Hoffman said he began to feel great, not uncomfortable. If he'd felt bad, he would not have taken more at a later date. I myself am forever greatful to him and glad I got to ingest some.
*While this isn't 100% accurate, the errors that **_are_** present seem legitimately accidental, as opposed to intentional propaganda (which was **_extremely_** common in 1967 - I know, because I was there!) My guess is that this was designed for second tier medical providers (field medics, nurses, etc.), and possibly for technically advanced troops (officer corps?)*
*So, of course they started with the propaganda just a few seconds after I posted the above - figures. They went through the whole schtick: everyone who takes LSD will either become a murderer or a suicide, any survivors will have permanent chromosomal damage to the point of being unable to have "normal" children. "Any man who has taken lSD can have a recurrence" (flashback). Interesting that with every single human taking LSD becoming either a murderer or a suicide, that we have to worry about "survivors" having flashbacks - such was the reigning BS at the time. They recite a bunch of "personal knowledge" stories, people this guy has supposedly seen for himself - but not a single case report in any journal.*
*At the same time the government was screaming that LSD would make you run out of the nearest 7th story window, they were also promoting the "Speed Kills" campaign. The speed campaign was actually a good one, cause speed freaks (today they are known as "tweakers", or MethHeads), because speed really was decimating the ranks of our most promising young adults (speed was usually introduced around mid-terms, and the people who were most interested in goosing their grades at any costs were the ones who already had great grades to goose. Mid-Terms created a LOT of speed freaks). Unfortunately, the anti-LSD campaign was so **_completely_** over the top that it began to injure the concomitant speed campaign. Add the anti-LSD BS to the abundant marijuana BS, and the government's credibility never completely recovered. Today, COVID destroyed what little reputation the government had managed to rebuild over the last 50 years: once again, government seems incapable of not shooting themselves in the foot!*
*It's important to remember that before the 1968 Omnibus Crime Control Act (which brought us such national "treasures" as gun control, drug scheduling, and a literal fuckton of other victimless crimes for which you could do a LOT of prison time), LSD was a **_prescription_** drug, in wide use in the psychiatric community. And it was incredibly promising - it took more than 50 years just to regain the right to perform clinical testing (forget about general prescribing): as of 2022, LSD is again an investigational drug, and once again, is showing great promise (surprisingly, along with Ketamine?!?!? Interesting idea for a mixed drug - a hallucinogen and a dissociative used as an anesthetic! I wonder who thought up **_that_** combination?)*
*So, in the final analysis, take this for what it's worth: it's almost exactly half honest, useful information, and half complete and utter propaganda BS. *
Very well said

All the wild exaggerations aside, just last night I was deeply reflecting, on my past, and I noted what terrible decision making ability I consistently displayed at a certain age. Not with obvious or dangerous things, but in general, and largely, course of life issues, and general practicalities. Watching this video I'm reminded, it was specifically the age I did this kind of experimenting, fairly often. On the other hand, that age was 19-22, the first Era I was making those sorts of decisions, was faced with such personal responsibilities. The first time I tripped I wrote a roughly 18 page manifesto, explaining why the 80s cartoon "The Transformers" was actually subliminal cold War propaganda. Ergotamine was the only thing that ever helped my migraines. In the 80s, it cost 6.00 a minth. Recently, I asked about it again. The doc said "but there are better medicines now". Yeah. The new, better medicine cost 130.00 a pill. That is only better for the drug company.
Same here. And the new medicines listed side effects include "sudden death". Way to go, Imitrex!
@@daveeyes Sad. Imitrex is old school now. "There are new and better medicines" said the doctor who gave me samples of pills that cost 110.00 each. I never could take imitrex, because of some blood vessel problem. but ubrelvy worked very well for me. The price per pill has dropped by 20,00 since my last comment. I am disgusted by the profit motive of the drug companies. I know they have to get paid for their work, but it feels excessive. We suffer don't we? I will be long dead by the time ubrelvy becomes affordable for me.
I peaked while watching this. Can I go to Vietnam please?
serotoninergic?
Lights: how about blue flashing lights on a cop car. Could that cause a recurrence?
No, hasn't happened.
The first doctor who tripped screamed that he was "blue boy."

couldn't help myself.
I can't believe someone would be dumb enough to take that drug. Horrible.
This Guy should take a trip and chill out
How did they get away with straight up lying about everything?
I have become horizontal at times
I’ve never seen make the number 2 like that.
It's as if they ran the film backwards for a few seconds.

I played it back 3 times just to observe how he managed that. Never, in 70 years have I seen a 2 made that way. Freaky….!
22:04 a familiar sample
What song?
That song singlehandedly prevented me from ever taking acid... terrifying... ugh
I wouldn't want some burnt out acid head watching my back in combat!
anybody got any cid?
I came here because I thought it was about a Landing Ship Dock.
