*Vornado definitely makes a great fan **Fastly.Cool** . We had the older model that was larger and which we liked more, but we are still quite pleased with this product. Recommended!*
This is probably the best review I’ve seen of this fan. I really like your focus on detail and how in-depth the review is, which most other reviewers tend to miss out on. The camera work and the video editing are fantastic! Also looking forward to the video of the VFan Mini! Great video Santa!
Dear Santa Schwarzenegger, please send me the red version of this fan for Christmas cause I've been really good this year! P.S: Can you autograph the box too? I love your action movies!
I've watched this video about a hundred times. The unboxing sounds and Santa's voice are very soothing and are ASMR triggering for me. I also had no idea that Santa was actually Schwarzenegger.
This is one of the best reviews of any product on this platform. Absolutely nailed it. Can't believe this is your first and only video. Brilliant. Instant sub. Wish you could get a commission for the purchase I'm making thanks to this video.
Great video Santa!!! We have been discussing what fan to get and we will be getting these "air circulators" for sure because of this video. Love the Santa theme and get up! Cant wait for the mini Vornado review. Hope to see more videos from you soon. Thanks.
hi, it is april 2021 and i am literally looking this fan up because i instantly wanted it on amazon. i cannot telll you how much i appreciate this video!! i really wanted a nice desk fan in my office. so tired of all the plastic fans i go through every year, if i add it all up, it is like 6 of these VFans. i love love the color, it reminds me of a jade. i can’t wait to receive mine on saturday. this video was SO WELL DONE and so well edited. i wish you gain followers and subscribers.
@@AmNotaScrub the motor just stopped working and I tripped over it a lot since I have really poor vision in darkness. The stand broke and it just wasn’t the same after
I LOVE those retro Vornado fans! It's sad that it isn't available in my country. I collect vintage fans, and the noise it makes is almost as quiet as most of my vintage fans. What an awesome review Santa!
@@santareviews Are the new vornado Vfans as good as the original models. My brother has one of the original senior Vfans with only three blades and he said it is really powerful.
The old Vornado fans were great, but the issue with vintage fans from that era and earlier is that they don’t have a thermal fuse. Modern fans usually do. Like the circuit breakers in your house, these fuses are designed to break the electrical connection when too much electricity causes your fan to overheat. When the fuse melts, it breaks the connection and cuts power to the fan, to reduce risk of fire. Modern fans are safer and this is why you should never run a vintage fan unattended or while you sleep. Older fans may also have cracks or problems with the cord or plug, and older fans require periodic oiling and other minor servicing. For these reasons, and because the new, re-issued Vornados are just so good, for everyday use I highly recommend the new ones. Some vintage fan restorers don’t even bother to restore the old Vornado fans because it’s just so much easier, cheaper and safer for people to buy a new one! Get the old vintage, classic Vornado fan only if you are a collector, plan to NEVER use the fan unsupervised, are certain that there are no other safety issues (such as broken cord) and are ok with doing the oiling. Hope this helps!
Thank you for this video. I was on the fence about getting a Vornado, but after watching your video, I ordered one. I bought the VFan even though it is for a small bedroom. Mainly getting it to move air around and provide white noise while sleeping. I think the 3-speed version will be better for this than the 2-speed of the smaller models.
This is a great review. Everything here is on point. I’m shopping for a desk fan and I’m trying to decide between two Vornado models. Hope to see more reviews here.
Really nice review, Governor. Good to know you found a hobby now that body building is no longer practical. :) Seriously, though, well-shot and very professional video. I have the SR version of this fan and absolutely love it. People don't believe the "air circulator" part of it until there's a fan running in the room in the winter and all they feel is the warm air it's pushing off the ceiling and down into the room.
I bought a Vornado 660 yesterday, which is plastic. I was told by a Vornado representative over the phone (they are located in Kansas) that the metal fan has a tendency to rust in hot and humid climates. I was very disappointed, but I decided I had better go with her advice.
Interesting, I’ve had the metal Vornado fan from this review almost two years now, using it at work 8 hours a day, no issues at all or rust. Also have been using the mini Vornado fan (also metal) for nearly that long in my bedroom, it’s on all night long, and no issues or rust. I suppose rust is possible if you use the fan in a very humid environment like a bathroom, or maybe if you live in a really humid climate with no air conditioning, and possibly if you live next to the ocean. But otherwise it doesn’t seem to be a common problem, as the issue of rust would surely have shown up more often in online reviews.
Kind of sad in a way that we're so conditioned to expect cheap crummy plasticky consumer goods and we're so impressed when a product is made of " Real " metal. Anyway, the missus is more sensitive to cold than I am, so I keep our central A/C set a little to the warmer side for her, but I have this exact fan pointed at me set on low and it keeps me cool and comfortable and is very quiet..... and yeah, I'm impressed by the sturdy " built to last " all metal construction, to hell with plastic. It's good looking fan, it's quiet and so far reliable so I'd recommend it.
Great comment thank you. Plastic slowly began to become part of electric fans in the 1960s as a cost saving element until eventually becoming the the main component. Fans went from solidly made ultra-durable appliances designed to last decades at their height in the 1930s & 1940s to the cheap disposable units of recent times. The Vfan brings back some of the elements that made classic fans so special and as you said, it’s a solid device.
Hey there, where can I find more of your content? This was probably one of the best reviews I've ever seen! I love the product and I love your presentation.
No, it won’t cool your apartment - it will not lower your apartment’s air temperature like an air conditioner. However, a fan will circulate the air and can give you some relief from heat through convection. If aimed directly at you, a fan can lower your body temperature and make you feel cooler. For several decades before air conditioning was available, people found themselves in circumstances similar to yours, and electric fans were the most effective way to help people cool down.
Vornado lists all the air outputs of all their fans on their website, in cubic feet per minute or CFM. This is a medium-sized fan and at high speed, this fan’s output is 301 CFM. A medium-sized plastic fan like the Vornado model 623 has an output of 325 CFM. If you want the classic look (just like this one) but want loads of air output, get the larger VFan senior. At high speed it outputs at 613 CFM.
I remove the front guard and then use ultra-soft detailing brushes (you can look these up on Amazon) and a vacuum. These brushes are used to clean delicate components in cars, so they won’t leave any scratches on the fan blades. You loosen up the dust on the blades with the detailing brushes and use the vacuum to pick up the dust. Never touch the blades with the vacuum, only use the brush.
Aww shucks I paused the video to write a clever comment thanking Arnold Schwarzenegger for helping me with daily mundane things like pick a house fan. But I see the internet is very funny
The motor is very smooth indeed. Yes, this fan will help keep you cooler in hot weather, but it’s not an air conditioner so it won’t actually cool the air.
No it’s a single piece plastic component with 5 blades. It’s solidly built though. This same piece on many of the original Vornados from the 1940s and 1950s was not metal either, but made of bakelite (an early form of plastic) with only 3 blades.
No the blade is plastic, but it’s good quality and durable. I can see why they went with plastic; the fan is a modern re-issue of the classic Vornado fans of the 1940s and 1950s, and at that time even though most fans had metal blades, Vornado blades were mostly made of Bakelite - an earlier form of plastic.
