That additional switch probably places a 30Ω resistor in series with each channel for proper headphone impedance. It would then short the resistors when the plug is removed and the plug switch contacts do the speaker disconnect. BTW, I thought my eyesight was failing recently, but I discovered my LED lighting was the prime cause. It has lost almost half the lumen output from just three years of use since installation. I recently went back to the high intensity T5 tube troughers which took 17 years to drop virtually 10% of their lumens without me noticing. Led's seemed so good at the start but their lumen decay was insidious and being imperceptibly slow initially I didn't notice, but it seemed to accelerate in the last year. I luckily took lumen readings when I did the upgrade, it's amazing now with bright bench lighting how much better I can see again. Cheers.

Soon as I read the tittle I thought LOL headphone socket, mainly because they're so basic inside...... didn't expect a sliding switch in it though
1:00 when we were young :)
While you had it apart I would have sprayed the volume control, but that thing needs to go in the bin directly🙂
Am I halluncinating or did you not have this repair video already or was during a live stream.
I did it as part of a live stream.
Alright, that clown was creepy.
Time to get the magnifiers, they work well.
