For my case, the Pixel 7a is cheaper than the A54 5G. And since I'm obsessed by the software experience of Pixel phones, the choice is pretty obvious.

Love pixel experience. Traded into s21 from 4a and have been looking to go back to google. Unfortunately, they dont ship to thailand and VAT, shipping, import fees seem like a waste. A54 or 7a I would go google if i could.

I have just bought the Samsung A54 5G with 8GB rom and 256 storages also personally I like the fact that it supports external memory here in Portugal it costs 499€ excellent phone very pleased with its performance.

Just got done transfering over from a S10e to an A54. I picked over the Pixel 7a because of the convenience of transferring from one Samsung to another and because I like that it still had the ability to have an SD card. It may not have the chip power of the 7a but it was a step up from my S10e so I won't know what I'm missing anyways. So far I'm happy with my A54 and love the familiarity to my old phone. I definitely feel that it was worth every penny and don't feel like I stepped down from a flagship to a mid level phone. I figure to use it for a couple of years and keep it as a back up when I move on to the next if its still alive. 👍

Dang it I'm a sucker. I literally just got the vanilla Pixel 7 yesterday. Still a great phone for the money though.
I think I'd go with the Galaxy. I thought about getting a Pixel 6a. My problem going from my Galaxy A51 to a Pixel is that none of my RCS messages from Samsung's Messages app will transfer to Google's Messages app. If it weren't for that, I'd probably get the 6a, or maybe the 7a when the 8a is released. I'd really like to have those Pixel cameras and flagship chipset, but the messages thing will really bother me. Plus, the Galaxy has a 120 Hz display. Good video though.
Edit: Although, at the end of the day it might not even matter that much. How often do I go through old messages anyway? If I really want to keep them I could just screenshot them all and save the attatchments. That might be what I'll do. But that smooth Galaxy screen! It's a tough decision, for sure. I might get the A53 just for the screen, or the Pixel 6a or 7a for the cameras and a different software experience, since I've been a Galaxy user my whole life.

I agree. The A34 is the best deal, and I like the Mediatek processor better than that Exynos processor that nobody ever wants.

@@BambotbYeah, I do agree about the ugly notch. I think that in 2024 we should leave the notches behind, but also any charging below 25 watts, 720p, 4G only phones, and refresh rates below 90 hertz. As bonuses, let's get rid of Exynos processors and iphones.

The virtual proximity sensor on the A54 is a deal breaker. No excuse for that on an upper mid range phone.
Don't forget very slow Ufs 2.1 and slow exynos
A34 is cheaper for a small difference. Because, overall, if you are going to buy a midrange phone, you should select the cheapest with almost the same quality.
The A54 and S23 Plus have a few things in common: Great battery life, size, display, look, and similar camera's - S23 Plus is going to be better in all these areas though as it's a flagship.
The cameras on the s23 are far superior than those on the a54.
That's not to say that the a54's cameras are bad or anything, it's just that they are not as good.
There is also the photo processing software of the s23 that puts it ahead.

The S series have always been equipped with Dual Pixel PDAF sensors while the A-series have never been. Try driving your car at night and taking photos with both phones, no A series phone can focus and give you a bright and clear image---all the S series phone can snap the photos instantly with no shutter lag and no need to activate night mode, images are alway sharp and focused.

I was between these two phones but I eventually chose the A54 due to the Pixel devices are officially unavailable in my country, Greece, and there's no Google customer support here either. The Pixel devices are also not supported by Greek phone providers and as such they have no 5G coverage or even proper phone signal here in Greece. So, even though the Pixel is objectively the better device it's of no use to me if it can't do its main function.

Even if the Pixel were to be available in Greece, you should still choose Samsung A54--its doesnt excel to the extreme but in only specific aspects like the Pixel, but it maintains above average performances in all aspects and thats what makes Samsung successful, they make good all rounder devices that translate to satisfying daily use by consumers.
@@avcomth no. A54 is purely dogshit. it lacks in performance, struggles in general stuff, has overly saturated cameras etc and overall bad and shitty software and animations. I owned it for a while. It doesn't maintain above average at all, pixel on the other hand, especially the 7a which is cheaper in my country than the a54 excels in everything, be it cameras, software, overall software responsiveness, speed, display, cameras, and haptics. A54 is dogshit. If you've used anything of the same segment, you would know it. If you havent used anything in the same segment you would still find the a54 average for the price you pay for it

Yeah, not really sure what the deciding factor is there - and I can't even imagine there's a cost justification for *offering* a 6GB RAM model. Having 1 model, 8GB/128GB would be fine for the whole world.

Ive been interested in pixel phones but never bought one. I mostly use samsung A phones. How is the video quality on the a54? The A13 5g video is pretty bad. Thats my main gripe with it, and hence my hesitation looking at A54
I got the A54 for 278$ brandnew..for the price it is really the best for me..only downside about the phone for me is the size is small and vessels around the screen is bit noticeable..And for the pixel its over 525$ over here so im really happy with A54

bro i have galaxy buds 2 pro and galaxy watch 4 and currently using m51 i want to change the phone which should i buy a54 or 7a i reviewed the comments from flipkart and amazon for a54 those were terrible i also compared the specs of m51 and a54 there is only minor updates sad thing is i dropped my m51 so it has screen damaged 😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥
Here in Bulgaria you can find the A54 for as low as 330 EUR from a bunch of stores, while the Pixel 7A is like a 500EUR and only at very few places. Yeah, not really a tough choice, god bless global availability....

Yeah, actually listening back at the audio sample, the Pixel is quite a bit better. Samsung just hasn't really changed their speaker setup on...any (?) phones the last few years, and I think that's starting to show. It's like they keep re-using internal speakers from like 5-6 years ago.

I think pixel should add the A line up with their main flagship in the same tier line around the same time they release top tier flagships. Kudos to pixel for not adding a silly useless lenses like the other sheep brands

I got my a54 for $305 with 8gb 128g and for that price ....I can't do any better if the phone let me a year I'll be happy but hopefully it gets better with time like other Samsung phone, time will tell

they did the video stabilization on 4k 30 fps, I also hope they do it on 1080p 60 fps
I think Google is on its way to being a premier phone. I’m about 3 years time I see Google being a better option than Apple. I watched this video along with others that compared the 2 and went with the Samsung A54 bc of the screen size, it will get more updates, and the price on Amazon

The Pixel 7a the better device having that flagship chip and superior camera. But I'll be getting the A54 due to its lower price and I can live with the compromises. When the price comes down a bit, I'll be getting the Xperia 1V for that excellent camera setup and flagship experience.
Agreed 👍 the only downside to the 7a is it's dim display. If Google sorted this on their A series devices would be even better

Surely Galaxy A54. I own one. The wider display puncy colors high quality amoled bezels are symmetrical and looks so classy with the black color with dark wallpaper and Matt finish screen protector
The sony imx 766 is doing magics. The one UI is popping and so fluid.

A54 has limited data bands I know about it before I tried it for free and just as the lack of data bands suggested it sucks. At least for gaming it's just horrible. And less data bands means less connection
I hate to call you out on the 'A54 is indentical to the S23' thing, but the torch is between the ultrawide and main cameras on the A54, but it's inline with the ultrawide on the S23, and I'll be looking out for that in the future.
You left out that the wireless charging on the 7a is just 7.5 watts which is garbage

On topic. I think the A54 crushes the Pixel 7a. Why? Bigger screen, better quality screen, 120 hertz over Pixels' 90 hertz, it has an SD card reader, bigger battery, faster charging, lower price, and better software support. I would be willing to compromise with a slightly slower processor and with moderately inferior cameras. The Pixel is way behind other modern flagship processors in speed and, afterall, I want a screen big enough to see those nice pictures. Pixel 7a 👎

Both phones are really appealing for me for what they offer at that price. Just a shame that if I compare them both, A54 will always be the winner by default. No matter how good a phone is, its not gonna matter you can't buy it. You can literally get the A54 anywhere on Earth officially with all the manufacturer perks, services and after sales support. Can't say the same for Pixel which is a real shame.

There are many underlying specs that the flagships still hold superior. One most important one is the use of Dual pixel PDAF sensors in the flagship lineups. Try taking a picture with your A54 while driving at night and you will find it impossible to get a clear and focused image while the S-series phones just snap a sharp and bright image in an instant like its day time.
I don't think I should be trying to take a picture while driving. LoL.
The 7a is superior with the camera, processor, and I like the size better. However I went with the A54 as it has the SD card slot, the bigger battery, slightly better display in daylight viewing (Which is more important to me with Pokémon Go), and it does have a couple alternatives to what Pixel has for various software features. (It has the Bixby voice which is very similar to call screening)
I only miss the tap-tap feature that could be used for the flashlight, A54 doesn't have a very great flashlight quick launch without looking for sketchy apps on the play store.
You can set your power button to double tap for flashlight

I agree that the pixel takes great photos, but A54 with Sony imx 766 is doing wonders if you know how to handle the camera. The polished saturated look is my cup of tea, and the majority of people like the instagram ready pictures. And remaster option in A54 doing miracles.
Pixel pictures have a darker tone and so natural, which i dont prefer.
So it is subjective. A54 takes excellent low light photos as well. The Sony sensor always has that standard and reputation over any camera sensors. Ex Imx 582, 586, 766, 800 are the best for mid range smartphones. The only thing is the processing power of pixel
Pixel is bad at over heating, draining quickly, limited storage, super dark outside.
A54 is bad at overall software experience.
A54 still wins by huge margin almost in every area!! : Best ever note taking app, best battery life, sharp screen, longer software support, cheaper price, expandable storage and so on!!

I have one for me it's fine in direct sunlight u can see everything u can text view Ur screen well imo people chat alot of rubbish about the pixel 7a what I would say is treat it on Ur own merits ignore what others write try it ,, and with Amazon u can get a refund or exchange no hassles so as long as u take care of it technically u can try it for a month with no worries

Lol no the only thing the a54 has is a faster refresh rate and faster charging, the 7a has a better processor, wireless charging, better cameras, and gets android updates first before any other android manufacturers
@@JayFrankTMthe only thing that would tempt me to buy the A54 is it's lovely display, the rest of the device is sub par . Pixels are actually at another level compared to the A54. The 7a has a great display, one could say excellent quality, only downside is it's a bit dim . Auto peak brightness is roughly equal on both these devices ( 1000 nits range )

If the A54 wanted to gain the upper hand over the 7A, they’d drop the price down to $399 over the Summer. Though, as a Pixel fan, I’d still buy the latter for its current price of $499.

For me it's simple. Samsung wins for looks and the Pixels wins for everything else. Especially software. If Samsung used a more stock Android I would buy their phones till I die.
I give Samsung credit - their software experience & update timelines did improve. But there certainly hasn’t been much to get excited about in the last couple of years with OneUI feature-wise🤷♂️

I have an Android phone with stock android. I also have a Samsung phone with One UI 5.1. I have to say that the stock android is boring, and I don't like it. Why do the toggles in the notification shade and the notifications have big, fat, rounded corner boxes?! They look ugly and waste space. The toggles in the Samsung notification shade are nice small circles and the notification boxes are nice small rectangles.
Plus One UI adds more features that stock android doesn't have. The only thing I don't like in One UI is the battery screen that shows how long the screen on time has been since the last full charge. It doesn't update as often as stock android, but otherwise, I think One UI is the better system.
Sigh ..am starting to think the A54 8$ better than the Pixel8

Yeah, they sort of become more apparent the longer you stare at it 😅 And I was actually surprised to see how close these 2 phones are with their overall size when the screens are supposed to be quite different. They're basically the same overall size.

I'll go for the 7A between these two, A54 is pure shit, I've used that thing for a week, and hated it, sold it at a loss of $100, unusable device, but I'll go with the phone(2) if it wasn't between these two, I don't use flagships because I change phones too frequently, I did go for the phone(2) and this is the phone for me, I ain't changing this atleast for 2 more years even though I typically change phones ever year or even 8-10 months. The performance is also shit with the a54 and one of the worst OS to ever exist (I had the s21plus and note20ultra previously), now rocking the OP6 as my secondary
I really like the Nothing phone 2. I'm still debating if I should buy one 😊 o love pixels too

Don't buy either smartphone, look at the side of the A73, S21 FE / Plus / Ultra for the Samsung, and for the Pixel, look at the side of the normal Pixel 7.
