that house cleaning analogy made me understood EVERYTHING. i was so confused why dont the kidneys selectively absorb everything in one go at the renal tubule but the house analogy made everything clear
Cognito Thank you so much for your videos that you post. When we were learning about the kidney my teacher warned us that it would be the hardest unit ever. At first I believed her but after seeing your amazing videos you made it seem so easy❤❤❤

hi i want to know if kidney has already absorbed glucose (during the first stage ultrafiltration) why would it reabsorb glucose again (during selective reabsorbption stage)
the kidneys have a filter, and as glucose is fairly small in size it passes through the filter, where blood cells and proteins do not. But as the body needs the glucose, it is selectively reabsorbed. It's not a perfect system, basically the kidneys don't really want to absorb the glucose but because its so small it passes through the filter along with the mineral ions, urea, etc.
hi... According to many books...the idea about nephrons and other ions and water is not included in CIE biology syllabus.. kindly guide me if i am wrong.... THANK YOU
