Thank for making this. It was very helpful I am researching what I need for a 2005 Toyota Sequoia with the JBL sound...that seems to be hard to work with. I would like to use the existing 2 ohm speakers and JBL Amp instead of dealing with replacing speakers that are hard to fit in this truck. This seems to work but reviews say the fade function is compromised with this harness..
Hey so what you end up doing? I have a 2004 sequoia with the jbl system I got the radio and the back up camera but harness is difficult
I called Crutchfield and got the amplified module and a model specific wiring harness. They provide great instructions and support. It was plug and play with new head unit. Hardest part was fitting the new unit in flush which required a lot of drilling on the existing bracket. Feeding the wiring harness to the rear door was a little challenging to snake in but worked ok. The sound was fine and I was happy.....then I crashed my truck after having a new more modern system for only about 4 months.

@boy ka if you have JBL, then no need to connect the speaker wires at the harness. All signals run thru the JBL amp.
Does this mean this whole time I coulda just wired the sub and left the speaker wires alone for Tacoma w/ jbl system? 😶

what color is the oem amp turn on for es 330 2006? Im trying to swap the radio and i have the TYTO 01 adapter, and the radio turns on but no sounds comes out. so im almost positive the amp isnt on. please help, what color is the amp turn on wire in the lexus, i know the blue and white wire is the one for the radio.
You can the original car harness definition, then you can find which color is amp control wire.

Why is this harness necessary??? For the jbl systems
I believe it's because the amplifier uses a digital signal from the stereo. Most stereos output an analogue signal. So this interface will convert the analogue signal form an after market head unit, just so the amplifier can turn it into analogue again so the speakers can receive it.
If your toyota car has JBL amp, you need this harness to fit your original plug. Please kindly noted that universal car stereo comes with universal ISO harness, not specail harness of your car.
