God that is so true he is so passionate about his art, i dont know why he isnt more famous, which is good also that he isnt too famous as he could be because hollywood would ruin him, he is THE man, funnier than Chris Farley even i would say

He found the sweet spot. He is so lucky that he can authentically live his passion (hopefully I'm not missing the dark side of the career) with that degree of success.
In a healthier world this would be the norm in showbusiness. It's a direction we need to move towards, and for that we need to power down fear structures.

Whereas that interview shows just how painfully Hollywood Elton is. That "This guy..." line was so forced and fake - I mean, I get he probably genuinely respects Jack Black, but the way he said it was like he KNEW he was meant to say something like that at that moment. And then at the end? Totally blanked on Jack Black himself/Kung Fu Panda to tell a basically irrelevant story about himself and how he wrote The Lion King, before suddenly remembering Black again and 'complimenting' the film in a hollow-sounding way.

It amused me how Elton John flawlessly worked a completely unrelated anecdote about himself into a discussion about Jack Black's film and then covered up what he was doing by ending the sentence with "and the film was great." It was like listening to a conversational magic trick.

"Holy Schnike!" "mmm, I Likey" "Ugh, I can actually hear you getting fatter" "WHAT'D YOU DO??" It looks......real" "Does this suit make me look fat? No your face does." "That's gonna leave a mark." " Housekeeping. You want mint for pillow?" "Him just a wittle guy" "Could've done without that." "Fat guy in a little coat." The bit about going to college for 7yrs but not to be doctor. The bit where he puts something over his head and says, "Luuuuke, I am your father." "Do you know where the weight room is? I'll check it out." Tons of his SNL stuff gets repeated. Black Sheep, too. 90% of the time people are repeating his jokes and not even knowing it or modifying them.
