To me, I feel that was a big hint that Jaime is not leaving out of being in love with Cersei still, but because he wants to take her down. Jaime does, after all, play a part in why Cersei has the power she does now. But Jaime isn't the fighter he used to be, so it's very likely he thinks he's on a suicide mission. He wanted to spend a final passionate night with Brienne before riding off toward his possible death, but Brienne was awake and tried to stop him. So he did the only thing he thought he could do; discourage her from following by insisting he's just as bad as Cersei and she shouldn't be bothered with someone like him. He loves Brienne, of that I have no doubt, but he doesn't believe he deserves her and he doesn't believe he's coming out of this alive, so he's trying to give her an out by making himself as unappealing as possible.
Garden Rose I love this so much! I thought the same thing, like why did he sleep with her again if he was going back to Cersei. Also, when he’s getting ready to leave, he tells Brienne “would you back down from a fight?” He knows she wouldn’t so he had to leave her heartbroken so she wouldn’t follow. I want to believe he’s going to kill Cersei. Also, this is somewhat a spoiler...I watched and interview with Gwen and Nik and they were talking about spinoffs and Gwen said she’d like to see the show come back and it’s 20 years later and she and Nik would have jobs again. He looked at her and clear as day whispered “that was a spoiler”. If either of them die, then how would they have jobs if they ever did do a spin-off? I’m hopeful!

What if Bronn goes looking for Jaime and Tyrion and discovers they aren't there? What of he decides to take Brienne, drugs her or gives her a concussion, (because he underestimates Sansa) and takes her to Cercei? Killing Sansa would not allow her to "teach Jaime a lesson," but killing Brienne will. And Bronn gets his revenge because the brothers didnt pay him.

It always breaks my heart when Brienne talks about being mocked, she’s such a beautiful person, perhaps one of the few true noble people left and Jaime’s redemption arc is so much brienne’s influence on him. I believe in his heart he loves Brienne but I think there is a part of him that Cersei still has her claws into and he thinks he can’t fight it

Absolutely incredible video. Beautiful editing. You've single handedly shown with this video how much a balls up DD made with this season. The most amazing relationship in the whole series killed due to rushing to finish. I would have loved Jaime to stay with Brienne but realistically it wasn't to happen. But the way DD rushed it in episode 4 was disgraceful... at least do their storyline the justice of his leaving making so sense and not just seeming like a complete character annihilation.
I'm so angry, they deserve a better writing. I understand that he has to end this, that he has to stop Cersei, and I do not think he's will go back to her to stay with her, but to end it. But doing in this way with Brienne, and tear her heart like that. That shit hurt.

Two of the show's strongest women - Brienne & Dany begged to the men they love in episode 4 (it was really sad to watch) & both didn't listen, which will ruin everything good they had.
After all those years of building their relationship, slowly and carefully they blow it all away in 10 minutes. I am getting more angry then I am sad and I am really sad. If he is going back to King’s Landing to be with Cercei or to die with her, they won’t need Cercei I will burn them all.

I love the way he looks at her. Like he's out of his depth and has no idea what to do with his feelings. I also think Jaime left to protect Brienne. He left for noble and stupid reasons. Also, by protect I don't mean that she can't fight for herself, but he wants her out of the fight regardless.
Right now I can’t watch the video because I know I will probably cry, so I’ll just say that since now everyone expects him to die, included Jaime himself and Brienne, I really hope he makes it and they get to be together again. He’s been guilt-tripping so hard, he thinks he doesn’t deserve to be with Brienne until he’s taken responsibility for enabling Cersei. If you pay attention, he pushes away Brienne not by saying that he doesn’t love her or that he still loves Cersei, he talks about himself, he basically tells her that he’s a piece of crap because of all the things he did for his sister, things of which you can see he’s deeply ashamed of, and so they shouldn’t be together and that he should pay for what he’s done. He knows he’s on a suicide mission, and he can’t take Brienne with him. I really hope this is the darkest hour before the dawn, I really do.
I feel like they missed a scene between Bronn's scene and this scene, where Jaime is angry that Cersei would order a mercenary to kill him. And then resolves to finish the job himself... or something. Maybe they realized that would spoil what's to come, but without that context it just looks like Jaime is an idiot.
He aint no saint and is an asshole by all means with a streak of crudeness but he was changing and seeing and doing things differently. When he was with brienne he wouldnt be the same as when he would be when around cersei. This man had a great character arc,he was acting with honor,honesty and was less violent. He could have gone back to cersei and still be a better man if they had shown him leave brienne in a better way. Like if he had a genuine conversation with her and explained his part better. But NOOOO, the writers made him leave winterfell looking like an asshole. I understand not all villains can be saved but dang the writers made jaime drop everything of his character development and in a few seconds,they made jaime the same jerk from season1. he was sadly a victim of having potential to be better but got a crappy ending. And I'm glad the fandom understands that jaime had a crappy ending cuz the whole 8th season was just...lord have mercy

I would have loved Jaime to stay with Brienne but realistically it wasn't to happen. But the way DD rushed it in episode 4 was disgraceful... at least do their storyline the justice of his leaving making so sense and not just seeming like a complete character annihilation.

i think this writing its perfect for them, it would be cheesy af if they stay at winterfell to be happy forever, i mean, winterfell is the last place jaime would want to stay, its when all the shit started and he was a big part of it, and he hate that place for that, look at the 1st episode of this season when jaime arrives at winterfell before he saw bran, he has that lannister smirk seing the place like "ugh here we go again in this fking cold place, i couldnt live here even if they pay me"

He pointed out all the things he did for Cersei which made him seem like a bad man, because of Cersei he was and I think now he knows that too. She's toxic and he can't save her, and I think he knows that now too. Great video btw, I'm surprised it got any dislikes. Right now I can’t watch the video because I know I will probably cry, so I’ll just say that since now everyone expects him to die, included Jaime himself and Brienne, I really hope he makes it and they get to be together again. He’s been guilt-tripping so hard, he thinks he doesn’t deserve to be with Brienne until he’s taken responsibility for enabling Cersei. If you pay attention, he pushes away Brienne not by saying that he doesn’t love her or that he still loves Cersei, he talks about himself, he basically tells her that he’s a piece of crap because of all the things he did for his sister, things of which you can see he’s deeply ashamed of, and so they shouldn’t be together and that he should pay for what he’s done. He knows he’s on a suicide mission, and he can’t take Brienne with him. I really hope this is the darkest hour before the dawn, I really do.

I feel like they missed a scene between Bronn's scene and this scene, where Jaime is angry that Cersei would order a mercenary to kill him. And then resolves to finish the job himself... or something.

I’m disgusted by this show now. They murdered a great character in more than one way.
He aint no saint and is an asshole by all means with a streak of crudeness but he was changing and seeing and doing things differently. When he was with brienne he wouldnt be the same as when he would be when around cersei. This man had a great character arc,he was acting with honor,honesty and was less violent. He could have gone back to cersei and still be a better man if they had shown him leave brienne in a better way. Like if he had a genuine conversation with her and explained his part better. But NOOOO, the writers made him leave winterfell looking like an asshole. I understand not all villains can be saved but dang the writers made jaime drop everything of his character development and in a few seconds,they made jaime the same jerk from season1. he was sadly a victim of having potential to be better but got a crappy ending. And I'm glad the fandom understands that jaime had a crappy ending cuz the whole 8th season was just...lord have mercy
