Your work is amazing!! I taught myself to sew a few years ago and started a business designing handbags and mens backpacks. I'm now trying to learn clothing design and your videos have inspired me!

Hi! I'm a guy into female fashion and I also have a strong interest for historical clothing, so I enjoyed following your series about the making of a ballgown. I have to say that I am very impressed by your skills and knowledge! I don't think I could ever do something like that! I'm looking forward to seeing the final product and I'm subscribing, to encourage you ;).

I'm so excited to see the bling! Also, the silk chiffon does look awesome -- so elegant. You've put in a lot of hard work, Chelsea; it's really paying off! :D

HI, I noticed on one of your dress draft it says capstone. I'm in high school and we have to do capstone, was this dress for that? If so I plan on making a dress for my capstone project also, could you give me some pointers on how you added the dress to the project? Thank you so much, your videos teach me so much on what I do not know. Keep making them and you're an amazing designer!!

Hello Chelsea! Awesome video! It has really help my understanding in construction. Please I need your urgent help. What other options can I use in place of the cotton flannel and silk organza in the bustier construction? And the steel/spiral boning are pretty hard to come by in Johannesburg will plastic boning work just as well even though I know they are not as good though? Pls, pls, pls let me know what you think. Thank you

This dress the way she has made it without adding an hourly payment will easily go for 500$ on supplies and construction alone add in the time and the hand stitching its about 1000$ and assuming the dress is custom tailored that could be an added charge.
My great grammy made me a prom dress and it cost her 500$ for material alone and the material was an iridescent fabric (I am 75% sure it was silk but not the real stuff probity a poly blend silk) tule and a lining with no petite coat or hoop skirt. However it was in a ballgown cut/style. Note I am a vary small girl 5'4' and 94LBS so its not like I needed a lot of fabric. (Not fat shaming hope by me saying that no one gets offended)

As a cosplayer id sell this dress for MAYBE 2'000$ if i didnt add in my hourly work most of the time. If i added in my work time and cheap AF hourly wage you're looking at 3500. Thats NOT including the amount of time i would spend remaking things or designing the dress.
As a commissioner i see sticker shock a lot as a commissionee ive been guilty of balking at prices also. This is not a cheap hobby and those who sell something with this much work cheap arent all scammers. Some may be desperate to be rid of the space consumer. Others are simply trying to build their business rep. However unless its a factory. Most dresses like this do not come cheap.
