Sometimes it's better to stay put and be "kept" then to be "missed", if it was all so great and lovey dovey, why did Don Juan leave, and why did R&B not give incentives to keep him? And why after all the years, and success the show has had without him, does there seem to be this push to make him important and bring him back again??
@@twoarrows2543 Don Juan left to pursue a career in music. Rick and Bubba tried to convince him to stay, but he said he had other things he wanted to pursue. He went to Virginia Beach before Atlanta. There is not a "push to make him important and bring him back again". People call the show periodically and ask if Rick and Bubba have heard from Don Juan, and they always give an update with what they know. You may be new to the show, but D was part of the 25th Anniversary tour. Listeners have requested that he be interviewed for Rick and Bubba University.
@@twoarrows2543 I was thinking more about what you commented here. I'm not sure what you meant by "kept", but I hope that wasn't a derogatory remark about our black brother in Christ Don Juan. I for one applaud Don Juan for chasing his dreams in the music industry. Even if it didn't work out as he had hoped, I believe he is to be commended for taking the risk and moving out of his comfort zone to pursue his passion.

No offense to Adler, but noone tops Don Juan. He's by far the best intern they've ever had. I wish there was a way to get him back. There was soo much joy and laughter in those days. Just doesn't seem to have the same vibe anymore.
Best Don Juan segment was Good Ol Boy “Homeboy” theater where Don Juan translated Shakespeare into street lingo. Hilarious!

DJDM predates my listening to the show but I still enjoyed the interview. R&B interns really get a quality internship, much better than a semester at NPR or with Limbaugh.
Lots of interns say Rush is great to work for. Just listening to NPR's dulldrum for more than a hour would make glad to work as a dishwasher in a prison cafeteria.
