We've all made rookie mistakes; playing cards in a bad order, ending turn early, etc. The part that frustrated me was knowing what windfury was and how it works, making a deal about having to give it to a minion and then (a few turns later) almost ending early because player forgets they gave said card windfury and wonder "how does it have windfury?!?!"
I have to Worst habit of hitting myself with spells. I actually at one point was going to win and killed myself with a fireball....I can't imagine how much my opponent was laughing at me
crazyphysicsguy I once was fighting someone that had 1 health left but also had a Nozdormu and a Ragnaros that he gave taunt and I used arcane missiles and it hit him
oh god I was watching this and I realized jessie forgot he gave his unit windfury and I just had my fingers crossed saying "please attack again please attack, OH THANK GOD >.
I stopped the video because Jesse kept saying Crendor is really good. I wish Jesse would call out the mistakes. Most of them were kinda obvious. Like running one of his creatures into a 3 health murloc and then attacking it with a 3 damage weapon -.-
Doing awesome Jesse, you are learning and having fun which is the main thing. Also you are beating Crendor which is important also. I can't wait to see more videos from you.
Nagazach I know, if anything it just goes to show how much better he has (hopefully) gotten since the beta, but at the time of this recording he was pretty bad at the game.
jesse you are really getting better and please try to have more hope in your self, i was cheering you on this whole video, i know you have what it takes you just need more merlock and more hope. keep up the amazing content and know that atlest one persons cheering you on!
***** and? You never played card games when being young? this is not much of a difference to magic. Eventhough the resource is handled a lot more by the game than by the player itself. There are things to card games that are being learned by playing 2 games? Reading cards completly does not even take one game. Think about everything twice is obligatory. Closed Beta doesn't say that you should play brainless.
Invisible No, I never played card games as a kid. I collected Pokémon cards, but I never learned how to play with them. Because asking a kid to learn how a card game works when they are too impatient to learn those kind of things is kind of pointless. I would argue that there's a very large difference between Hearthstone and Magic. However, only if necessary. Even if they did stupid mistakes that could have been avoided if they knew the game better, the point still stands. It was in closed beta, literally ten days after the closed beta invites were sent out. While it's easy for us to say 'He should have done this and that', new players to a new game are bound to make mistakes.
I don't even play the game anymore and I- I just... How could they not take the 2 seconds to read the cards...? How could they not see how easily they could of won like 10 rounds ago... Just finished this 30 part series and if I had the chance, I'd take my time back- and that's knowing this is Jesse and the fact that he is terrible at games. This whole thing was just plain *PAINFUL*
Frostee Fyre You do realize this video was from when the game was still in the closed beta, right? This video was uploaded on the 26 of August, 2013. The Hearthstone closed beta started on the 16th of August, 2013 in America, literally 10 days before this video was published, which means that this probably happened earlier than 10 days after the closed beta opened up. No one was good at this game back then. There was no meta, no strategy, just people trying the unfinished game out.
***** "No one was good at this game back then." you realize how moronic that sounds right? People were already streaming this, there were alpha testers playing this game, you obviously didn't follow Hearthstone from the start, there were pros and meta decks at the time this video was recorded, don't bullshit me.
You could: 1. Hold ctrl and scroll your mouse wheel up until comments are not on the page (I have personally done this) 2. Google "youtube hide comments add-on". Looks like their are plenty for both firefox and chrome 3. Re-size your browser window until comments are not visible. 4. Try not to read the top comments, just because text is on your monitor doesn't mean you automatically read them. Your eyes still have to look fairly directly at each word for you to process them.
I find my self screaming at the top of my lungs at the computer with my wife wondering if I'm dying every time I watch you play. You're really that bad at this man.
These are some helpful comments from what I've seen: -You need low cards at the beginning so 6 and 5 is bad(in the third game, when you said you regretted your choice, follow that impulse next time :) -You need taunt (other characters get around it: Mage has board clear, Hunter has many secrets for wiping the board). Without taunt you're open. -You used the Doomhammer well -You may have an abundance of 5-6 level cards -You are doing a lot better
Hey Jesse- this doesn't really matter, but murlocks are more similar to slivers in magic, but both have about the same effect so like I said, doesn't matter.
27:18 "I would gladly pay 1 extra mana to choose which totem to pick!" 29:02 Jesse gets his totem back and can choose it when he wants for 1 extra mana "Well, that's just dumb" Gotta love you sometimes :P
-I was screaming at the screen^^ "YOU CAN WIN THIS RIGHT NOW!" -*He wants to press end turn* -NOOOO!!! DON'T!!!, you can still attack and win!!! -*Jesse wins* - :o !!!! Good job :)
Jesse you had an amazing combo on the last game! You wait for turn 7 and put down the elemental and place the revive buff on it, then next turn place down the dire wolf alpha + flametounge totem + bloodlust and you could have dealt massive damage to crendor!
the good old days where being "very very good" equates to going face with a fiery war axe on turn 2
That moment when you realize you've played against Jesse and Crendor before you knew who they were.

Shane Parish my brother starfired himself and died when his enemy was on 3 health.
crazyphysicsguy I once was fighting someone that had 1 health left but also had a Nozdormu and a Ragnaros that he gave taunt and I used arcane missiles and it hit him
Blueblitz thats not crazy rng.
>bloodsail raider attacks 2/3 murloc
>2/1
>Attack 2/1 murloc with 3/1 weapon
yeah okay fuck
"He's pretty good"
...Yeah, okay, then...
Jesse, have you SEEN his videos, even he thinks he sucks
+Gerstrek C. Garson 2:26
"Pirates will be trouble."
Oh, those innocent days....
Wow, seeing how things used to function at the beginning is just weird XD
Gakusangi you mean the same?
I was just screaming at my laptop the entire time...
Jesse, mate, I love ya, I really do, but oh my flux these games are physically painful.
Oh god, the misplays at the beginning are absolutely painful. Christ man.
oh god I was watching this and I realized jessie forgot he gave his unit windfury and I just had my fingers crossed saying "please attack again please attack, OH THANK GOD >.
I don't care if they're bad or good, if they win or lose; I just like watching them play Hearthstone.
watching this now, after ive played myself for a while.. (facepalm at these plays)
All these Jesse & Crendor Vids fill the void that is Cox n' Crendor in the morning by basically being just that.
Teenage Mutant ninja murlocs
I am looking so forward to the next Heartstone video, Jesse, great job! Thanks!
Crendowg plays really bad here
I stopped the video because Jesse kept saying Crendor is really good. I wish Jesse would call out the mistakes. Most of them were kinda obvious. Like running one of his creatures into a 3 health murloc and then attacking it with a 3 damage weapon -.-
alpharage But that's the thing. Jesse is so bad he didn't even relies that those were mistakes. XD
Intentionally. It was a friendly match
Jesse, just writing here for your positivity campaign. I THINK YOUR VIDEOS ARE REALLY ENTERTAINING! YOUR THE BEST!!
2:16 I don't understand why crendor waisted his minion even though he was going to use the weapon anyway.
+natwat123 because he's crendor, and thats what crendor does.... crendor things lol
I love how he is plugging a podcast that hasnt had an episode since june. SERRIOUSLY GUYS I NEED MY COX N' CRENDOR!
you should play more hearthstone
I've been waiting for this battle for a long time...
Here's the twist, the people being super critical here probably made just as bad of mistakes when they started playing hearthstone.
Doing awesome Jesse, you are learning and having fun which is the main thing. Also you are beating Crendor which is important also. I can't wait to see more videos from you.
JESSE.. I THINK I PLAYED AGAINST YOU... OH MY. DID YOU PLAY AGAINST A FABIANA?!?!?!
I take it back, watching you two play is the most frustrating thing ever. XD
27:19 Jesse inspires Justicar Trueheart
I would appreciate more of the podcast.
Keep in mind, people actually used to play Core Hound in these days. Take it in. Mmmmmmmmm. So bad it's delicious.
Jonathan Lewis core hound plus tundra rhyno means a fuckton of damage
I have actually had 3 charging core hounds with the rhino + core hound combo in the last month, so I still play it.
+CallMe MisterCat corehound+charge= poor mans garosh
+Jonathan Lewis Core Hound is bad card, but sure, it's fine to try out, nothing wrong with that. But when you're incapable of basic math...
Jesse at 40:39 you could have used bloodlust to clear the board.
Many misplays much wow such good
Ive never raged before in my life, but I couldnt get to the end of the first match without screaming "holy shit youre bad". Ive succumbed to the rage.
Jaime Cohen lol....this was somewhere in the BETA. It was all new then
schaapjeENelmo Ah that makes a lot of sense.
Great work Jesse! I told you that you'd beat Crendor in no time, Keep gettin' better!
2:22 - Just... WHY?!
nowhere near as bad as 3:08
and yes i know i'm late but meh
I just love how close you came to ending your turn instead of winning Jesse xD
Normally I wouldn't comment on how bad you played here but... this was just... painfull
............ You do realize that this was when the game FIRST went into beta right?
Nagazach I know, if anything it just goes to show how much better he has (hopefully) gotten since the beta, but at the time of this recording he was pretty bad at the game.
matthew fitzpatrick Yeah but that's excepted with people who aren't into strategy games such as this and MTG :-P
Nagazach I never played strat games and when i played this i wasn't even this bad.
Internet ToughGuy Yeah but you might still be good at them even though you aren't into them! jesse is into them and bad at them xD
'that pirate deck has potential...' if only you knew Jesse... if only you knew.
...
'I'M IN CHARGE NOW'
Don't you mean "Arrrrrrr"
This is so damn painful to watch. I love it.
jesse you are really getting better and please try to have more hope in your self, i was cheering you on this whole video, i know you have what it takes you just need more merlock and more hope. keep up the amazing content and know that atlest one persons cheering you on!
WHY WOULD YOU END YOU TURN WITHOUT ATTACKING????????????
Rookie mistakes during closed beta, perhaps?
*****

70matusz clearly he's playing around Molten Giants.
Oh my gooood. That windfury on 1/1 totem was MAXIMUM strategy. Totally intentional and awesome. I tip my hat to you Mr. Cox.
This just made me sadder and sadder to watch... They literally made more terrible plays than good...
I don't even play the game anymore and I- I just... How could they not take the 2 seconds to read the cards...? How could they not see how easily they could of won like 10 rounds ago... Frostee Fyre Do you feel better now?
Skel Neldory Nope, not at all XD I'd rather forget about this whole mess >_
Frostee Fyre

I feel the exact same way. Now I feel bad for not watching his older hearthstone vids D:
Is anybody else very irritated about the sparkling sound in the background? UGH!!!
You could:
1. Hold ctrl and scroll your mouse wheel up until comments are not on the page (I have personally done this)

I've never seen so many mistakes in one game :D
COXN CRENDOR IN THE MORNING PLEASE WE WANT MOAR
so painful to watch haha
This is why i love watch him, make me feel like i'm a good player
Both of you are so damn bad at Hearthstone. I mean, come on, is this a troll? It has to be. Even those in rank 20+ aren't as bad as this.
It does hurt to watch this but you have to understand that everyone was brand new to the game back then.
Lethal Jam Well...Crendor is still that bad at the game. But i think it's fine, some people are just bad at things
+Erik Marklundh I think you mean that people play to have fun
Codename MEGAN Having fun and being bad at something is not what i would call a direct correlation
its not, not taking things seriously and having fun are direct correlations though
The Jesse and Crendor videos have evolved into something beautiful where Crendor doesn't speak. I hope it is the beginning of a new era.
All those bad plays..... What the hell is going on with this guy.....
the new ending song is the beest ^_^ also nice video :> can't wait to see more
That was fun. Thanks for the post Jesse
Yesss you're improving, Jesse! \o/ Keep playing, work out all those years of Magic: the Gathering! Unlearn what you have learned!
Early hours of the morning, out of nowhere, Jesse murglegurgle-ing.
This pleases me.
I find my self screaming at the top of my lungs at the computer with my wife wondering if I'm dying every time I watch you play. You're really that bad at this man.
i actually have been waiting for this!
Jesse pls tell me what's your battle tag I tryed Mojomaker but no work(or email what works pls I wanna add you I am skilled)
,,, I dont know when Jesse changed his outro, but that is like the greatest Jesse song ever.
JESSE we need an album!
That first victory was sheer superior skill
my god I almost punched my computer when Jesse nearly end turned on the first match.
I clenched the moment he didn't attack Crendor directly with his Murloc at the start of the first battle...
i love how Dennis is on your friends list but you never talk about him
So good! Loving the Hearthstone videos Jesse :)
Is it bad that I learnt new things from this
These are some helpful comments from what I've seen:

-You used the Doomhammer well
-You may have an abundance of 5-6 level cards
-You are doing a lot better
That first win was so painful I cried.
wow that totems play at the end was insane
You guys are the best
okay, does anyone else think that Jesse was making the murloc noises at first?
Hey Jesse- this doesn't really matter, but murlocks are more similar to slivers in magic, but both have about the same effect so like I said, doesn't matter.
Was terrified that you would ignore the wind fury
yeah hope so and really like to see the DK deck most of all :P
27:18 "I would gladly pay 1 extra mana to choose which totem to pick!"
29:02 Jesse gets his totem back and can choose it when he wants for 1 extra mana
"Well, that's just dumb"
Gotta love you sometimes :P
-I was screaming at the screen^^ "YOU CAN WIN THIS RIGHT NOW!"
-*He wants to press end turn*
-NOOOO!!! DON'T!!!, you can still attack and win!!!
-*Jesse wins*
- :o !!!!
Good job :)
Can't wait for this game to launch
I nearly cried when Jesse almost didn't use his windfury.
The hearth of the cards is with Jesse!
Crendor said: "Believe in the Heart of the Cards."
Crendor is best Ancient Egyptian Pharaoh.
Oh man, the music at the beginning is killing me. What´s that high frequent noise in the backround? It´s driving me insane.
wow that last round.. man i can't watch anymore of these.. i rage to much..
green jesus vs. the red orc
the battle we've all been waiting for!
YES. This. I felt like slamming my head on the desk when I saw it. Especially when he kept saying "there's nothing I can do" and just ends turn.
Jesse you had an amazing combo on the last game! You wait for turn 7 and put down the elemental and place the revive buff on it, then next turn place down the dire wolf alpha + flametounge totem + bloodlust and you could have dealt massive damage to crendor!
That hyena card looks a bit like a beaver sitting on a dam. With Jesse in sight, the mighty beaver stalks her prey.
There's a "super dragon" that's attack depends on how many cards you have in your hand? Is it Slifer the Sky Dragon by any chance?
Even if a creature has a battlecry. If you need a creature that is more important than it's effect.
39:43 You should've used ancestral healing on his scavenging hyena, then coined into a black knight to kill it.
if blizzard added murlocs as a playable race in WoW I would get that shit so fast
OMG Jesse is the only hearthstone player who also knows the lore i love him.
That last game was over when you kept so many high cost cards Jesse
Um... Runs 2/1 into 2/3 and finishes it off with 3/1 weapon... When there's another intact 2/3 on the board BECAUSE LOGIC!
I forgot that there even was one. It's been so long.
That first game when you almost didn't use your second attack... I almost punched the freaking ground.
Jesse Cox, the only gamer on UA-cam who could make a Buddhist monk lose his shit.
You can attack on the same turn you play the card, where normally you need to wait a turn.
Professional videogamer at work
"Murloc gank squad" New rap Squad
"Cant beat that Mrglmrg" Boom ... !
I love how the one thing Jesse is competent with is WoW lore.
