Contradiction is a brand new take on the concept of an interactive movie and brings the genre to a whole new level of playability. It plays as smoothly as a 3D graphic game. You can wander freely around the game environment, collecting evidence and witnessing constantly changing events.
But the game is all about interviewing the characters you meet, questioning them about all the evidence you’ve collected and things you’ve seen, then spotting contradictions in their answers. Pair two contradictions together and watch them try to worm out of it!

In episode 1 they pieced together the culprit and reason behind the murder.
J hart except they were wrong about Kate being the one who slept with rand
Esteban Velazques, however that is why she was killed, as that is what the killer thought was going on.
Once again showing off Jesse's incredible ability to determine the entire plot and subsequent twist of a video game within mere hours or even minutes of playing it! 😉

@@danielcolon979 Certainly seems like it, with some examples of which including him and his buddies managing to perfectly predict the major story twists in Until Dawn and Resident Evil 7 in their first few hours of playing said games. I would say what they are, but I would rather not spoil the games themselves for you. Let's just say, at least from what I've seen, it seems to be an almost common occurance ☺
Some people think Sherlock exaggerated, but they haven't seen Detective Cox & Doogs on a case before. They deduced the murderer and the motive in the intro screen! #wendigos

I love Jesse's technique of "guessing every possible plot". Then everyone is like "Jesse got it right", when he also guessed aliens, werewolves, vampires, Oscar the Grouch, the mom did it, she had a twin, both twins are alive, both twins are dead, her twin had a twin, etc.

Well except he didn't really guess on that, they were goofing about with ridiculous ideas.
They make it incredibly obvious who they really think did and what the motive is several times.

Okay but to be fair dodger called it first and she also called the motive the second the character was introduced.
But she’s also the one who suggested neither if the twins were dead so it’s really a give and take

In Until Dawn, SGS discovered the murderer about 1/2 way in. In Life is Strange, J&D discovered the murderer 1/4 way in. Here they discover the murderer at the beginning.
Well, in Life is Strange, they guessed it was the step-dad, the janitor, aliens, and the teacher. Then they got credit for saying teacher....

If I recall correctly, the devs had to use a backup solution to the murder because one of the actors got ill. Originally the murderer was somebody else and they had to improvise as they couldn't afford to rent the location any longer than they already had.
Nope. It was Simon who was going to go avenge Kate on the Rands, which would lead to a struggle... While the killer was still gonna be Rebecca with the sparkletape.

Fun fact, after I had collected all the clips there was 3 hours of footage to sift through. The next video is currently sitting at 4.5 hours and I still have a few videos to go through. Might have to make that one a two-parter-

This brings back memories! I remember watching this back in 2015 in the autumn. I was always eating spice cake during the episodes because my mom made one. So now whenever I think of this game, I think of spice cake and whenever i think of spice cake, i think of this game. And here I am, seven years later, almost autumn, eating spice cake and watching this video.

I don't know what's more impressive? The fact that they solve the case in episode 1, or the fact they never made a single Third Eye Blind joke.

Fun fact, the person who plays Rebecca Rand is in the Justice League movie. At the end, she's the cop questioning the thieves who are tied up with Wonder Woman's lasso. :)
Did we ever find out about Simon's homebrew?
Simon's homebrew leads to knowing that James' traded opium tea to Simon. This in turn leads to learning that Simon is allergic to opioids, which means he couldn't have taken the morphine. And thus you learn that Simon and Kate weren't outdoing each other, but Simon was testing her.
I’m back to watch this for like, the hundredth+ time. Honestly, this helps me sleep really well

vanyadolly We technically got one, though not really. Features Jenks though, but as a different character.
Sadly shortly after the filming of this game Paul Darrow suffered a major aneurysm and died a few years later. He was meant to be a major part of any sequel and after his illness and then death they decided not to continue any work on a sequel
Paul Darrow might not be Emperor Palpatine as Jesse suggested but he has done the voices of Grand Moff Tarkin in the Star Wars: Empire at War Video Game and Overseer Tremel in the Star Wars: The Old Republic Video Game

I just found out Contradiction is credited as written and directed by Tim Follin - gigantic name in game OSTs - wikipedia says he also composed for it, it explains a lot
