- This is a Volvo XC60 Recharge, one of Volvo's ever growing range of hybrid vehicles, the recharge uses a 2 litre 4 cylinder petrol engine mated to a bank of batteries which makes for 385 bhp and 0-60 mph in 5.5 seconds. But a hybrid is not about the performance it is about saving fuel and the environment which is why the XC60 recharge produces just 55g/km of CO2 and can average around 88mpg on the WLTP cycle. I wish reviews would mention the mpg on a long run after the battery is depleted
In normal driving the battery doesn't deplete entirely, ,especially on long runs. Clever electronics see to that. If you are daft enough to drive on full electric until it empty, well . . . .
It's rated in the upper 20s(27 in US) MPG, if you never plug it in.
Are you sure the plug in charges as you drive? I don't think it does...

Insurance is through the roof on this plus charging cost it more expensive to run than a D5..a d5 with volvo polestar upgrade will do 0 to 60 in 6 seconds

Anybody else notice the poor quality on that right-rear door? It doesn't close flush to the body....failure on the quality checker...should've sent it back to get fixed. And WHY isn't there a lock on the door to the recharge port? That's not something I'd want anybody walking by to have access to.
I've been driving since 1976, and never had anyone fuck with my cars. No need to lock the recharge port. If someone wants to get in, they will.

RECHARGE PHEV VERSION. The singular most disappointing aspect of this car is its inability to set a timed charge, using the car or app (believed the same on new XC90 models too).
Unless you have a smart home charge point, people like me with a dumb one, on an economy 7 tariff need to be nocturnal to benefit from off peak charging. A retrograde step from earlier models and spoiling a brand new car! Volvo offer no solution and their promise to fix it has not materialised in 8 months and is nowhere in sight. There’s no timer on the market sufficiently highly rated to make using the plug-in cable safe in the UK at least & in any case it takes 9 hours to charge.

I drive a rwd 2.0t, 272HP at 3400 pounds. Zero to 100km/hr in 5.2 sec stock car. Why should I buy this Volvo? Don't get me wrong, I'll probably buy a Volvo wagon next, but not this hybrid nonsense.
Edit: Highway speeds 110Km/hr is 5.6 l/100km.
140Km/hr is 7.0 l/100km. Personal mileage and the chassis is more stable at higher speeds than 110km/hr and flat feeling.
Don’t tell the trees that you have to use coal power to charge it
we use our solar panels
@@pauldavis4815 and those panels magically dropped out of the sky ready to work, or were they made in a factory using coal power in China and then put on a big oily boat to ship over to you, but only after the diesel truck dropped them off?

@@Austin__ The presenter stated that he is saving trees by not producing CO2 - Photosynthesis requires CO2 - sooooo in essence Peter is correct and not ignorant
