This lady shines! She displays the rare combination of a great salesperson and art historian. As she examines things in detail, an infectious enthusiasm emanates from her deep knowledge of period styles and details.
Laine. Love that entry stairway and sunroom landing. Such beautiful windows throughout, and great spaces. Lots of roof angles in upstairs spaces are not my favorite, which makes the upstairs spaces of this home a big win! And I love the wonderful light fixtures and fireplaces. And all of the items that need restoring are the fun finish work items. You can't buy a doorknob in my area of California for the low price of that home. Thanks for the 1st class tour.
Downtown Huntsville has a lot of homes like these. I love them too. Love old homes and their history,. Can you imagine the wonderful stories this house could tell if walls could talk.
When you first showed the unfinished space on the third floor, my first thought was “ballroom”. Then, you showed us the actual ballroom!! Wowee!!! Stunning home!
Why would the ballroom be on the third floor though? Shouldn’t it be downstairs where the guests are ? That would be a hell of a trek to the ballroom wouldnt it?
Omg this is literally like a step back home. That central stair in the entry is probably one of the most prominent feature in early 20th century homes in baltimore. It was so comforting to see that
so stunning!!! I can just imagine parties being held in this home , ladies and gentleman coming down that staircase!!!! ladies gathered in hives with champagne in hand catching up on the latest gossip!!! and can we just give a hug to that staircase OMG YESSSSSSSSSSSS
That "sitting" room off the master bedroom should be one huge closet. You can sill use it as a sitting / dressing room and maybe take in part of it to expand the bath with a big jetted tub and enclosed toilet room. A period correct chandelier would look good in the grand closet and a smaller one over the tub.
Absolutely LOVE your home tours, Laine and Kevin!!! Y’all are so thorough yet no drawn out and boring!!!! Some major HGTV stars could learn a thing or two from y’all!!! Laine...you are the GREATEST Southern hostess. Really enjoy watching your UA-cam videos as much as I enjoy your Instagram stories!!! Dorothy- The Barrow House & Gardens of Louisburg
Laine, as usual you killed it. Always love watching your tours, you are such a natural on film. I'm still hoping you guys get offered a show that lets you be yourselves, you Laine would be an instant HGTV superstar! 🌟
Wow!! I’m blown way! That house is absolutely gorgeous!! But one thing, where’s the dining room? Could it possibly be where the gentlemen’s parlor is ? I love that house!
You need to slow down your panning just a little bit because you can't see the details. It's a little blurry. Thank you. This is the kind of house you want to see the details on :)
I haven't seen fast panning. Her husband's camera skills are pretty darn great. I took notice this episode. He pans a bit before landing on her to speak and always shows what she's talking about. This is professional level.
@@pengwenh8938 That was the absolute funniest skit I had ever seen. When she came out with the curtain rod on her shoulders... The talent in that was just amazing.
Hi from Australia, such beautiful historic homesteads. So much intricate detail. Makes me want to move to the U. S. A. The sale price of this property in Australia would only buy you a very modest single story 3 bedroom home. Love your channel.
This home is absolutely stunning as is! There is a lot of mainly cosmetic updates, changes. The enthusiasm that they both have and show for these old properties are amazing! It's so infectious, that it helps me keep my enthusiasm for my little 1650 sq ft 1930 brick two story home. I wish that they were on HGTV or DIY network. I would totally watch them. Rehab Addict and Restored gave me a love of old homes.
You're always going to have neighbors unless you live in an isolated rural area that's far from everything. You can't live within five seconds to shops and restaurants and have no neighbors in a 500 mile radius, sweetie.
That wedding cake chandelier could be 1940-41. I had one, smaller, but the same style, c 1941. Kevin, thank you for showing the door hardware! Great house.
I love the house and fell in love the second I saw that staircase. I'm confused though, considering the size, why such a tine kitchen and no dining room? That 2nd bedroom would definitely become a dressing room/ sitting area. The stuff dreams are made of!
0:17 This was The Empress Bed & Breakfast and it is beautiful inside. My dad and I visited Little Rock to see the submarine museum there and stayed at the Empress for one night.
What a gorgeous home, except for that kitchen. That space at the top of the landing and the fireplaces are amazing. The attic space definitely has potential. I wish I had 3/4 of a million to buy and restore it.
Wow! Only $525K. My little house on the Canadian prairie is worth about that much (in CND that is, but it spends about the same as the same amount in the States...).
Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful historic home with us! It is absolutely stunning! Whenever I see homes like this I always can't help but wonder who the original owners were and what their lives were like on a daily basis.
It would be so amazing too have another walk through tour after the current owners complete her renovation. Especially that attic space. Laine, can you make that happen? pleease
The ballroom was massive. Definitely needs refinished just for the heating budget alone. I would honestly make that area the living area and do the air b&b in the lower section; just to keep people from traipsing through private quarters. This is a such a beautiful example and I'm not surprised that is it already sold - and for $100k less than I expected.
Although Victorian Gothic is more my style, this house is really impressive. Edited to add that when I saw the ballroom, first thought was party room. Which is odd because I hate parties.
I had no idea that Little Rock Arkansas have so many historical homes n there all so beautiful. This one you showed was amazing for that price. My fear is someone will buy it n tear everything historical part of the home. I’ve never seen wooden floors with that size planks. They were so narrow. Good idea for the attic. It would be perfect at what you mentioned . I hope whoever buys this place will keep the the original as much as possible except if definitely do the kitchen over. ♥️♥️😊👍👍👍
I'd move right in and be happy. It is move in ready enough for my tastes. So beautiful. I'd jump on an opportunity like that except where it is located. I long for an old home to restore on many acres so I can have a little homestead. Then eventually I would like to host guests on my property as a little country getaway.
Because I’m curious I just checked abs this house sold for 385000 this month (July 2021). Was listed as 4 bedroom 3 bath. I would really love to see what the new owners do with it (especially the kitchen)!!!
That is a lot of house! I love the master bathroom and wouldn’t change a thing except to, maybe, put in a more period style vanity. The price is so cheap in comparison to houses in Australia where the asking price would buy a small one or two bedroom townhouse. This house would cost in the millions. It would a dream come true to live in a period home like this - just gorgeous even with the improvements required. 💕🥰
Good video, I watched the one about the Queenanne home first, I noticed in both videos you refer to that “master“ bedrooms I thought I would mention that real estate professionals now refer to the largest bedroom with the en suite bath as the PRIMARY bedroom. no shade intended, I just thought I’d mention it.
Kudos on your architectural knowledge. This is a magnificent home. Just judging from the video, it appears to be structurally sound. It looks like everything that it needs is basically aesthetic other than the unfinished spaces that can be whatever the new owners want to make of them!
This lady shines! She displays the rare combination of a great salesperson and art historian. As she examines things in detail, an infectious enthusiasm emanates from her deep knowledge of period styles and details.

I love her passion and her videos.

How is this show not on hgtv? Love it so much!

Because people are weird and love shiplap 🙃🙃 This one and the current Rehab Addict Rescue would be my FAVES!!!!!

that 80s drape is Austrian Drapery , and it was used for years, I did see it used in the 60s and 70s. Lovely home
I would live on the landing to; I can see my 10ft Christmas tree 🎄
Lol, that’s exactly what I was thinking.
You could place a large one and 2 small ones on either side...
Would really be festive then....
I guess she might not like those wallpapers, but I love them and those green curtains would totally make a great Scarlett O'Hara dress.
Right I was like I love this. I wouldn't change much. Fixer upper? This is super nice

The only thing that could make this more amazing would be to not have any neighbors! 🤪
The neighbor to this house is the governor’s mansion.
