  • Some homes just have that "feeling": that feeling that you aren't alone as you walk the halls, that feeling that someone just out of sight is asking you to stop and notice all the beautiful details. Come inside and stroll these spooky rooms with us. We've had some fun with this one trying to share that "first person through the door in decades" feeling with you. Enjoy!

That wood on the walls would have been the backbone for wallpaper! Imagine how naturally insulating those boards were! Used to live in a home with solid wood behind plaster in Arkansas and we only used ac in July and August! Now in my newer home we start it in April and it runs til October!

I'm about 6 months late in watching this video but it was wonderful! First of all, did anyone else get a Paige and Brandon (Farmhouse Vernacular) warm fuzzy feeling when you first open the front door? Laine, I know you bought the house for the pocket doors alone! (Am I right?!?!) Second, when we bought our 1870s farmhouse there was the same brittle cheesecloth wallpaper throughout. Our house was mostly covering beautiful beadboard but often times it was covering "shiplap". I've been stumped with that to do with these walls once we reach that room. I'm not much of a "wall paper person" but I may have to find something neutral to put back and cover the mix and match beadboard/shiplap wood walls. (I don't want to put drywall in this house.) This tour helped me so much! Keep up the great work Laine & Kevin!!!!

I have a similar light fixture in my dining room. My house was built in 1883. It had 3 chimneys carrying seven 7 wood burning stoves for heat.

Nice to see you having fun and being creative in your presentation. That was fun for me to watch! Great job! I love the way you show the details. Everything now a days is plain and boring with no details. Great job!

My maternal great grandparents had a Queen Anne Victorian. Actually they owned 2 in their lives. That home is to die for AND I love the way you presented it. Your channel and Saveafox are my favorite. Keep up the good work. Your videos make me smile.😉
