I visited Small Worlds Tokyo on Pet Day and my dog and I made the miniature figurine. We got one to take home and one to leave in the museum. We found the spot where we were placed in your video!!! ( At the time of your video, we weren’t there yet.) One of the cool things about this museum is that you discover new little details with each visit! You shared so many cute things that I totally missed on my visit! Thank you for a great video!😊
Ah that's so cool, that must have been funny seeing your spot! Was it hard to get your dog to stay still for the scanning? 😂 I think everyone must spot different details when they go - I guess that means it's a place you can re-visit happily.
@@cakeswithfaces The scan was actually very easy. I just held my dog for 2~😃3 seconds and it was fine. They take 3 scans and you choose the one you like best. They give you a passport entry return card so if you come to pick up your figurine (as opposed to having it sent to you) that's a free visit! And of course, the first thing you do is find where they put you!
Small Worlds Tokyo was so much fun, especially as an Evangelion fan! One cool thing about the airport is that there are two sections that you can crouch into, and when you pop your head out you’re in the middle of the airport! I’m too tall to have tried, but my girlfriend was able to do it and said it was an awesome view of the planes! ✈️✈️
This place hugely exceeded our expectations. These types of attractions can be really hit or miss -- sometimes just something quickly put together that's fun for an hour and forgettable, but we spent hours here having fun. Super underrated.
My wife and I loved it when we went in April, so many small details, you could go multiple times and still find details you missed. My wife is a big Sailor Moon fan and I'm a Evangelion fan so we both had massive geek out moments
I have to add, there are a pretty big shopping mall inside Ariake Garden. And yes, Ariake is not very crowded, the buildings are far apart so it feel very spacious, same goes for Odaiba. I'm looking forward to your next video.
Hi Cakes with Faces. Me and my wife visited Aiake Garden in January and we could see the sign with "Small Worlds Tokyo" from our hotel window. I actually said to my wife "wonder what that building is with the sign Small Worlds Tokyo on it". We didn't investigate further, but thru your video I finally know what it is 🙂I was nearby in July as well, visiting Ariake, but yet again I did not know about it. Thank you for your videos, they are always full of interesting and useful information. Greetings from Norway 🙂
Oh wow!! I love going to see model villages here in the UK so this will be a must do when I visit Japan! I love how the Rocket & Planes take off! So clever! ❤️
They've thought of so many fun details! It's really fun watching the planes go around - there's a lounge opposite so you can sit and take a break there.
I've seen a few posts on this before from others. Reminds me of Miniature Wonderland in Hamburg, although the sets there seem based more on real life locations with fewer fantasy elements than Small Worlds. The fact this has no crowds in the off season is a big plus for me.
Very interesting video from the inside. I've visited Cape Canaveral/Cape Kennedy in Florida in the 80s, I think the repro is pretty accurate. Me and my wife is going to Yokohama in November, we will visit the Ramen Museum for sure. It's on our list 🙂Wow, Ariake Tennis no mori station was right outside our hotel, we could see it from our room. It's very cool to see familiar places. We will visit TeamLabs one day I'm sure of. I'll say it again, there are always a lot of useful information in your videos, thank you so much for sharing 🙂
hmmm ... I wonder ... maybe you will like Suntory Hall in Akasaka, Tokyo ... it is the premier concert hall of Japan ... for me I love the National Noh Theatre but I really want to see a performance of Tokyo Takurazuka this Summer ...
I went in April and was disappointed with it, don't know if they were having technical problems but the Global village was on permanent night so couldn't see much- I waited a long time and revisited a few more times but no light. Some buttons weren't working, airport extremely boring with just some slow taxiing nothing taking off and no fireworks, nobody around in workshop area, and I had my worst ever meal in Japan in the cafe. Sounds like you had a much more successful visit
It's a really good way to spend time with lots to find and pick out but I found the day/night cycle a bit annoying. Essential trip if you're an Eva fan Thanks again for another great video 😊
Haha, it does make you feel like a giant monster! They should have a Gojira day once a month . 😝 They'd probably throw you out if you started throwing thunderbolts though...
You can rent it and have photos in this experience on Klook: www.klook.com/en-GB/activity/87151-japanese-school-uniform-rental-service-rental-maihama-tokyo/ And John from Only in Japan rented one in Harajuku: ua-cam.com/users/livemmGHMU-L7jg?si=k0DkiNyy3dSM86u5
You have to pay extra for the 3D model of yourself. There are various plans for taking the figure home or having it live at Small Worlds, with different prices for different areas: smallworlds.jp/en/pickup/3dfigure/
This was before the mask rules were relaxed. Even though at the time mask wearing wasn't compulsory, everyone was wearing them in all public places, so it seemed best to follow suit & not make other people feel uncomfortable. I think it's more relaxed now though so you wouldn't have to wear them all the time any more.

That is cool, being part of the scene! There was a similar thing at an aquarium I went to recently, but it was small and just for kids!
@@cakeswithfaces this was probably intended for kids too, but she was short enough to fit 😅😅
@@adamb4783 Why should kids have all the fun 😂😂

So glad you enjoyed it too! It's all in the details I think!! I don't know why more people aren't talking about it! :-)

Ah fantastic - that must have made it all the more exciting, spotting all the places you recognise in the scenes! Glad you enjoyed it!
That miniature of Azabu Juban is so detailed, I wish I had one at home.. I went there earlier this year as well. Worth it!
That'd be great to have at home. Can you imagine what a big craft project that'd be to build!? :-)

I really like how Odaiba and the Toyosu area have such a different feel to the rest of Tokyo. They feel more relaxed because it's more spacious.

I think you'd definitely enjoy this then! :-) I didn't expect the planes to fly - so much fun to watch!
Thanks for sharing this with us!
Such a fun place to visit!
I FLIPPIN' LOVE MINIATURES
This is the place for you!! :-)
It looks so cool! Definitely Adding this to the list. Reading your book at the moment and it’s fab, great for trip planning.
Thanks so much, really glad you're enjoying my book! 🥰 Trip planning's always fun!!

Awesome job Amy see you next time
Thank you!
No problem Amy .
Wow! 😲
It's very finely and beautifully expressed. 👏
I really enjoyed it!
How can there be so much to do in 1 city!?!

There were lots of little moving parts! 😍 So entertaining to watch!
😂
I miss Tokyo. I'll be back next year!
Me too - same here!! Can't wait!
I have wanted to go to this museum since I first heard of it! I love miniatures so this would be amazing. Thanks for all the details.
I'm sure you'll enjoy it! There are so many cute little details to spot! 😍

Hope it brought back happy memories! Enjoy the ramen museum - see how many bowls of ramen you can get through (the mini bowls aren't so mini!).
@@cakeswithfaces It sure brought back memories. I've heard of the ramen bowls, I will probably try, and then regret it when I get way too full 🙂

Oh no, that doesn't sound great. Sounds like it must have been having a bad day with so much not working. 🙁
This place looks awesome Amy. I'm definitely adding this to my bucket 🪣 list. I make miniatures myself, so this is right up my street ❤ 🫶

So...we watched Amy film herself filming herself.
Cross that off the bucket list
Inception! 🤯😝
I want to note that the Unko museum is just a 20 minute walk from small worlds. It's an interactive museum all about Unko (poop!)
Good tip - you can have a great day just in this area!
woah, cool! That looked neat. Bet it feel different if you were part of thee attraction instead of being a model for it. :J
With giant people staring at you all day? 😂😝
scary thought isn't it. Even worse when they decide to interact with you.:D@@cakeswithfaces

The spaceship from Flight of the Navigator.
