It was so upsetting to find these two street cats in such poor condition. Hundreds of people walked past them everyday and I couldn’t understand why they were never offered help.

Thank you so much. It is so sad about Doughnut, but he was able to leave this world with his good friend by his side. I sincerely hope Cupcake will live happy ever after.

It is truly sobering and heartbreaking to know that there are so many people, dogs and cats who have to live desperate lives in the worst of conditions and situations and have to struggle to survive from day to day. I am glad that Cupcake the street cat got a happy ending and found her forever home. At least Doughnut got to spend the very last hours of his life shelteted in a warm, safe and dry place with plenty of food and water to eat and drink, experience the briefest bit of love and care from a person and be in the company of his lifelong friend, Cupcake.

I just can’t understand how people ignored these cats and let them suffer. Thank you for rescuing them. Although it was only a couple of days for Doughnut, it was the best two days of his life. Bless him. I foster cats and losing one is so hard, especially unexpectedly.
Lovely that you foster. It was so awful when Doughnut died. I'm hoping at least the video encourages people to find help for stray/street cats before they get to this state, where there is no return 😔❤

So happy for Cupcake but how awful for poor Doughnut and you. To save them from a horrible existence, to offer them safety, food and medical attention for him to die must have been heart wrenching for you. I will never forget this story, how the hell they were both on the street for so long utterly defeats me. The worst feeling in the world is knowing you did the best you could,and it still wasn't enough.

Doughnut was so brave. It sounds like he was Cupcake’s protector and did so to the very end.
Rest well, Doughnut. It may have only been for a few days, but it eases my heart to know that for that short time, you were warm, well fed and knew loving care. Your brother is now safe, well loved and will never want again.
Tiffany, you are an angel on earth, working so hard to save these cats. When your time eventually comes, I’m sure Doughnut and many, many other souls you’ve rescued will be there to welcome you.

No animals should ever be on the streets. Can't believe they put these sweet cats back on the streets. So sad one died but happy the other cat has shelter food and love and will always be looked after. Your doing a wonderful thing in life. I love cats so much.

Shocking to see these 2 poor cats, who were definitely not feral. Thanking you for saving them, although I cried when I heard that Doughnut had passed away. Doughnut, nooooo....! December 17, 2023. I wasn't prepared to have my heart broken at 6AM! Doughnut... oh my God, you're killing me here! He passed away after he knew that his beloved Cupcake's in good hands. Rest in Paradise, Doughnut 😢

So wonderful Donut spent his last hours warm, dry, with his friend, safe and not searching the bins for a rotten scrap of food. Dear Cupcake…though animals do experience grief they live in the present not feeling sorry for themselves. Thanks to you he is enjoying the good life.

Thank you for all your loving spirit, energy and care for these kitties. We have only had cat rescues my whole life. We now have Rafa, 12, who is orange, and must be part Siberian, with a double coat of fur- found as a week old kitten alone on our tiny island of St. Thomas. Ariel passed, at 24, which is 120 in cat years! Orlando is 5 1/2, and she had lost ALL her teeth, but she is healthy now. Oberon is a tuxedo cat who loves Parmigiana Reggiano cheese! even watching it the second time over weeks later , it stil gets me , the love between those cats , and there story , even prepared I did feel the eyes tear up , it was okey they deserve our sympathy , lesson the be better humans then we showcase these days .

Tiffany, you make me cry to see your gentle commitment and fierce protection. You are a true rescue soldier, putting yourself in bad places to help needy strays. I have performed a minor version of your work, giving over 60 a home in the past decades. Ones like doughnut tear a hole inside you, yet I have found a strange peace after the pain of losing one after so short a time. I've often been asked if the pain is worth it. At first I did not know what to say. Now I realize it is just part of the bargain, for sharing time with a stray. As written in one of my cat essays, sharing life with any other creature is about "Half the pain and twice the joy" as someone once told me. And as an old, broken up cowboy said when I was but age 5, "If'n I can still feel pain, then I ain't dead yet." Old Fuzzy Carlisle give me that gem on the day I met him prior to his rodeo demonstration ride circa 1958. On that day I learned that pain is a marker of life, not of death. It was a profound lesson at a time when I was unable to fully understand it - until many years later while tending to sick and drying cats. Old and broken up little souls are always my favorites. I am irrevokably drawn to ones who are lost and ignored. Even if they have only one day to live I'll take them in a New York minute. I see you Tiffany. I love you!

Doughnut was the first to enter a trap. He obviously already trusted you and knew he and his brother needed help. At least he had two days of safety and comfort, with his brother. Got to go prepare lunch, can't see through my glasses...
Poor Doughnut, at least he enjoyed a brief respite of good food and warmth. Bittersweet, story - heart breaking and heart warming in (almost) equal measure, wonderful that Cookie has found such a lovely, forever home

How much animals have to endure such suffering because no one was able to do nothing until this lady came and transform his life, and the other witnesses love and safety at least for a shot time before passing away. Thanks to the rescuer and the family who adopt the survivor.

I recently started feeding a stray cat outside a local store in town. I was told the cat had been there since she was a kitten. I managed to trap the cat and took her to the vet for neutering. I trapped the cat and brought her home, when I let her out in the yard she ran away and back to the store which is about 4 miles from my house. I go to the store and feed her, since she grew up around this store I realize this is her home. So sorry this did not work out. I continue to feed her.

Little doughnut had comfort, warmth and good food. I agree he felt so relaxed and safe and cared for, that he could leave little cupcake in very safe secure hands. Im crying looking at the pair of little pitiful sad cold kitties. But then crying with joy at their little purring in your comforting hands. Cats know instinctively when humans want to love them back to health, as you have done so gently and responsive to their every need. Thank you.

How people just passed them on the street, year after year, is unfathomable to me. Their story had me bawling my eyes out. Animal rescue always has a measure of heartbreak. The consolation is knowing that Doughnut left this world feeling warm and loved with a full belly. Rest in peace, dear Doughnut. I hope Cupcake is thriving, enjoying the housecat life.
