- The story takes place in Xinjiang, China, in 2022. A young couple, while on a trip, stumbles upon what seems to be an abandoned cat. It was a bitterly cold night, with temperatures dropping below freezing, and daytime temperatures only reaching a few degrees. To see a cat with obviously an inherent joy, curiosity and liveliness lying in a gutter, not moving, not responsive, simply waiting to die; to see it gradually recover and come back to life is a tale for the ages. The inherent treat of bringing a stray cat in off the street is non-existent, a human however.... they could be insane, mentally unstable, desperate and dangerous, they could wait until you asleep and kill you at any moment.... could decide they like your coat and stab you over it when you let your guard down.... etc etc... a desperate human is about the most dangerous animal on this planet...

It probably is extremely rewarding yet sad at the same time. I saw a sign in my vets office and it said ‘1 out of 3 vets commit suicide’ being a vet is probably such a rewarding but sad job. Thank you vets for all you do for our pets!

Vets in Asia don’t cost nearly what the U.S. would cost. That treatment in the U.S. would have been thousands.

I like the fact that you gave this guy a purpose in life and that he is happy now. He looked so depressed when you first found him. Thank you for saving him.
But do it safe. Warning - Cats who live in the open and appear sick may have a serious bacterial infection. Getting scratched by a sick cat can cause the bacteria to contact tour blood, and in turn give you a serious life threatening illness.
If you can contact your local animal doctor to get the animal instead.
If you absolutely must bring it yourself, use gloves or a thick blanket. To avoid being scratched.

He was dying, cat had panleukopenia. It wasn't depression that made them sit there, they were simply waiting for their death.
@@jonintrovertedpotato3866 I've never heard of vets going out to pick up stray animals. They don't have the time to do that. If you don't want to bring the animal in yourself you should contact a local animal rescue organization or animal shelter. Shelters don't pick up stray animals either but they might be able to give you the phone number of a rescue group that can help if you don't know who to call.
It's good advice to be cautious with animals you've never met but if they react defensively when you come towards them you shouldn't try to touch them even with gloves or a blanket. If the animal is an abandoned pet they'll usually allow you to safely pet them if you give them time to trust you, move slowly, speak quietly, and always offer them food first. This wasn't a wild cat, it was an abandoned or lost pet. A feral cat wouldn't allow human contact especially after it got its strength back.
This is why good people still exist, helping cats bring back their life

Actually, the water is WARMER than the air. And if he was wet, he would have been even COLDER than the actual temperature
So he was warmer in the water than if he stayed out in the air while wet. Could have saved him

I'm shocked that the hospital didn't provide the blankets -- that the savior had to go buy them. I'm sad for the cat in the cage next door -- it wanted someone so bad...

Cats are very sensitive to other cat smells, you can´t give the cat blankets that have been used by other animals. With so many coming in everyday, even if they washed them they would pile up real fast, and cost money that the vets don´t have. Sick animals will often pee and poop all over themselves, so the cages are kept empty for ease of cleaning. In the end it´s all about money. Vets like these don´t have much cash, they live on donations, and what little they have is used to buy medicine, food, and machines. It´s not because they don´t care about the comfort of the animal. They do, otherwise they wouldn´t even attempt to save the cat´s life. The sad reality is that they can´t afford or have the manpower to keep every cat in a comfy bed at all times.

This video has warmed my heart. Sadly, countless millions of cats in the USA and around the world NEVER receive any love - and so many of them suffer such terrible horrors. My rescued cats throughout the years need(ed) me, and I need(ed) them. What an honor! Purpose/Reason.

But few God's remember and even less remain on earth to cultivate the collective conciousness to shift back into that octave and phase shift into that timeline. It can be done with great effort but time is short.

I took in 4 really sick kittens in April. They were going blind due to a respiratory infection and were covered with fleas. After going to the vet, some amoxicillin and terramycin --- three days later they were playing with each other and feeling better. Two found homes, one went to live with my mom (he ended up losing one eye due to the illness). And the 4th one I kept. She is 100% healthy, chubby, and it's the sweetest kitten ever. She is loving and cuddly. Looking back I always smile that I did my part with helping them. They were barely 5 weeks old and terrified, wondering around my front yard... Now, they're all doing well and making humans happy.

God bless you😢 you made such a difference in those kittens lives. Ppl might say it’s pointless to save 1 or 2 kitties bc there are still so many out there suffering but it’s not bc to them in means the actual world ♥️ my cats were found abandoned in a box on the side of the road and now they are loved more than any living creature could ever ask to be. They are my children and nobody can tell me otherwise. ❤ I lived in the streets for several years in a rough part of Baltimore so there were so many stray cats that had been abandoned or born strays and I would always try and help them if I could bc I understood what they were going through. In return they protected me. On several occasions I had cats literally follow behind me and walk with me when I was walking in the middle of the night and it was usually when I was with a person who was trying to do me harm. They were trying to protect me and look out for me and never expected anything in return. I wish I could have done more but I was 80 pounds and could barely feed myself. If I had food on me it was 50 cent skittles or snack cakes so it would have done more harm than good. I gave them water if I had it and told them they were loved and appreciated even if it was just by one small homeless woman viewed as worthless by society. Animals are so much better than humans.

Sitting in a puddle waiting to die. The story about how he got there was forgotten when he finds that he has loving parents, a home, and a friend. Thank you for all you do.
Last year, during holidays me and my wife found this small kitten without strength to move nor to say anything. We cared him and now he is the most adorable cat we've ever seen. He never gets tired of playing, purring and kissing us. He does that all the time, all day along.
I started to cry this is a wonderful end to this story. These people are awesome for adopting this cat and giving it a home.
Never give up on a cat, never. We didn't with our rescue Tia, she survived 4 years - it was not easy and when she finally passed, it was like we lost a daughter. We still can't look at pictures or videos as it destroys us. We tried so hard, but the abuse she went through finally took her in the end. We did what we could, spent so much money we are broke. But we would change a thing. RIP Tia darling.

My heart broke when you found her, because she was in such poor health, barely staying alive. Through her entire ordeal, I wished that I could have held her in a soft, warm blanket, and just stayed with her. 6:40 that's why you should get more then one cat. First reason - they have a little of natural aggression, and it needs to be used up sometimes. If there is another feline around, they can put up a friendly brawl, if they don't - they'll be constantly angry (trust me, you'll see the difference, I know what I'm talking about). Best choice is two alike cats so that the fight is even. If there's three - two of them will try to swarm the other, which makes the third one more aggressive.
The other thing is - you're not always home, and there are times cats are home alone. Now imagine - you're a cat, no one to play with, no one to cuddle with - pretty boring, right? With another cat around, boredom will be none.
Felines are known to be loners, but that doesn't mean they're never bored. Even though they sleep around 20 hours a day (domestic cats sleep lot less - lack of physical activities and a lot of noise from humans, and cats sleep very cautious and have a very good hearing), any brain needs at least some stimulusto work properly. So, to anyone planning to have a cat, please get them in pairs. It's better for both humans and cats.

Kool lil kitty. A year ago I had 22 kittens from 4 mommy's in 1 box. 1 mommy left so 3 took care of all 22. I'm now down to 4. Bootsie, Number 2, Momma Kitty and Lookalike. The last 2 sleep on my belly.
That cat seemed to be near death, maybe it would not have even survived one more day without help. This video made me cry, but I am so happy that he recovered and he has a nice loving home. ❤️

I wish selling and buying pets would be illegal so any human who wants a pet will adopt one who needs a home. This world would be so much better if people saved a life instead of buying a pedigree animal to show it off. Any cat can be so beautiful and loving when taken care off. He's so sweet to come when called! Cats know when they are loved and you care about them, nurse them back to health and truly appreciate it and love you for it.

The vet care saved its life but the pettings and chin scratches from the staff gave it the will to survive. I'm so glad it pulled through. It has such a cute face and a gentle disposition. I'm sure Goudan will be happy with his human family and this feline friend. Such a wonderful outcome.
