You sir are much more patient than I - so thumbs up for that alone. About half way through this video I was thinking it would have been time to switch to pallet forks for the remainder of the clean up. It may work fine for some, but I'll take a hydraulic grapple and a dedicated 3rd function.
However, what stunned me is that when I just looked there currently doesn't seem to be much of a price difference between this and some hydraulic grapples (particularly if/when shipping costs are considered) .. and given a couple of properly sized hoses could be run to a rear remote in order to use a hydraulic grapple (or any other hydraulic implement on the loader)......
    To each their own though......

Thanks for showing the BC in action. I agree with your comments about it.
Haven’t shown it on my channel because I hate to bad-mouth a product from a small American Company. However, folks need to see that this is NOT a good compromise for a grapple.

@tractor time with tim I don't agree with this assessment. I've used mine for a year now and love it. The issue with the serrations on the upper teeth was easily solved by removing them. It completely lets go of the brush now. The video looks like a combination of inexperienced operation as well as bad set up. The self leveling loader is not ideal. Your fork stops were set way to high. Try them in the bottom holes. The damage you pointed out under your loader frame was not caused by the bc because the stops only hit in one spot. This grapple is great for the price and way better than paying for third function. The tractor you have is a little too powerful for a 4ft implement. You need an implement sized to your tractor. I have several videos on my channel Markelly Farm about the brush crusher working great.

@@TractorTimewithTim yes i do but they dont work on my tractor and i cant afford one or the cost of third function which is why this one is the best for me and im quite pleased with it. Check my video of a few weeks ago and you can see it in action. Ps im a loyal subscriber to ttwt.

See the video by Dakota Adney. The larger JD tractors (4 and 5 series) put so much pressure on the lynch pin and mounting plate when using this grapple it will break the mounting plate. I had the same experience as Adney. It may work fine on 2 and 3 series tractors, but if you have a 4 series JD do yourself a favor and get a hydraulic grapple. The design of a hydraulic grapple is so much better that it's worth the money.

I have the brush crusher on my 4720. Been using it for over a year and have had little to no issues. I agree that it isn’t as good as a “real” grapple, but it has saved me more than not.
I don’t like that you cannot lift as high when it is under pressure. That sucks but it still works moving the big logs and brush around my property.
I placed pads on the loader arm to reduce the friction/wear.

Something like that may be just the ticket for guys like me that rarely need a grapple Looks like you could bolt some 3/4" thick delrin pads onto the bottom of the loader arms to prevent the wear issue.Countersink the bolt heads so they are out of the way and the pads would be easy enough to replace once worn too thin.

3/28/22; Howdy from New Orleans area! Much enjoy this & other videos of yours, great to be out in fresh air doing all kinds of productive stuff.
This video made in December, shows that mechanical grapple, probably made to grab logs not bulky branches. So hope you video putting that 3rd function hydraulic cylinder assembly, control arm & grapple bucket you selected. Have watched Everything Attachments videos. They have several units each with different features. One in particular focuses on the 90° open area at ground contact to vertical back (at quick attach area). This is an open 90° design so logs & other items can be easily fitted & held into unit by lid. Recently watched OWTM (Morgans) where Mike bought Vernig grapple to go with his Kubota SkidSteer. SkidSteer has not yet arrived. This unit is not 90° at bottom-to-back area but 1/2" curved steel bracing. Hope this info gives you some comparisons. Am sure other manufacturer's have high quality steel, bracing & 'scoop' design too.
Hope to see you installing 3rd function & new grapple soon. Love yur fresh air videos!⛱👍👍👍🧑‍🔧

Unfortunately I did not film installing the 3rd function on the tractor I had Covid at the time and felt terrible, would work on it a few minutes at a time then I would have to go home and rest. As far as the grapple being made for logs, well they need to change the name from Brush Crusher to Log Crusher then haha.

I'm using a set of pallet forks for brush and a grapple like that to me would be beneficial since I don't move a whole lot of brush every year. Pallet forks are okay but it is difficult to move a lot at one time. I find that the brush falls off if not stack right or if it's dead and won't lay flat.
