Hey Dennis been missing your videos! Hope you had a good hay season buddy. Hoping to get my fields in better shape next year. Just drilled some seed a couple days ago
Hi Sir. Missing more of your videos. Hope to see more of them soon. Hope all is well with you and yours. All the best to you and your family from Norway.
Funny, I do that sometimes with the much smaller bales of cardboard from the cardboard compactor when it needs changing. Use the forklift and use the tine width adjustment. Usually works if not really the design. I never lift it high, just enough.
Thanks for all your video Dennis. Been watching your channel for years. In the next year I am moving from all rounds to mostly squares. After weighing all options, I have settled on a Norden AE15 and tie grabber along with a SQ102 squeeze. I am hoping the all vertical bale configuration will do nice with the squeeze albeit I may be limited to 3 layers to pickup per squeeze. I think the time saved with the squeeze will be well worth it. I will need to move lots of hay from field to barn each day. Plan on running the squeeze with my M6-141 Kubota which has a pretty high rated loader capacity of 4961#.
Thanks for the reply Dennis, i think now there is an upgrade for the pto, my cousin was just saying that when its out of gear it can be turned easier to put equipment on, I have been keeping eye out for your videos all summer and how it went? Cheers, mike
Great video. I was considering getting a squeeze until now. I'll have to think about the limitations, and see how they will affect my operation. Thanks!
Been looking out for your next catch-up videos Dennis, hope everything going well? My cousin has a 4709 and finds it hard to put a pto shaft on the tractor it's a feeder wagon. Can you move your pto shaft to put machinery on OK? It's an awkward shaft and heavy, cheers Mike
Dennis I think all you need is time. When loading the tractor trailer, take a stck outside close to you, bring your stack of five, put in the trailer, and the grab the other two off of the stack you have close by. Thay new baler sure makes some nice looking bales.
That thing is nice. I can see it being a pain out in the field with uneven ground but its ideal for the barn. I'd like to see how high a tractor can stack with that.
Hey Dennis, love your channel! Why dont they make a version with like 4 long spears. Like the big one used for round bales. With 4 long spears you could pick it up from any side. Think about it 🤔
Your hay business is very impressive. I don’t know how your help situation is going. But you have your operation down to operating equipment which to me is smart. I had a thought for you on the pallet idea. Have you try building one out of aluminum? I don’t know if it cost prohibitive or not but over time is where you might come out ahead. By the way your hay looks really good.
Ok I'm curious about the 360 degree camera, what is it and where did you get it? I was wondering how you do the videos where the camera angle changes without you moving the camera, pretty slick. Also on the squeeze I actually built what is to my knowledge is the first small square squeeze made for a skid steer or tractor. I will say I was pretty surprised that they even marketed it for bales flat. A squeeze works much better with bales on edge in my experience. And you're right with the arch of the bottom bales, they really need to be arched like a bridge in order to counteract the weight of the upper layers of hay. I wish I had a good way to tie my layers together it would really make mine more efficient as well. I use a stacker so mine are in 10 bale on edge packs but aren't tied together. It really sucks to lose a stack so I just take a layer or 2 or 3 at a time. I'm pretty efficient with the squeeze by now my biggest issue was telling the angle of the squeeze arms, if they're angled up at the end it doesn't grab worth a hoot. So I added a simple angle finder using a chain that is adjustable so I can set the angle that I want to achieve which has helped a lot. You have a pretty efficient set up. One word of advice for getting between stacks is if you kind of shimmy the skid steer back and forth as you move in it will slide in pretty well. Thanks for the overview of the squeeze.
Nice trick with the chain I may have to try that. The 360 camera is an Insta 360 x3 I love it but it does take a lot of time to reframe all the shots in editing.
From what I have observed squeezes are made for western hay. That is 3 twine 100# bricks. They can haul a stack 20 miles to make a delivery with the squeeze. Eastern 50#, 35 inch, bales soft enough to air dry in our humid climate almost must be handled with a grapple.
Hello Dennis maybe in time will work better but it serms to me to be not user friendly. I was thinking a widerbottom ledge but maybe not help. Enjoyed your video have a great day. Oh do know of any tractor wreaker your area. I have John Deere 2555 i need 30 rims and centres
Round bales? Seems to me you would never tear net wrap . Also you could store them circle side down when storing them in a barn. Good idea for round bales you want to sell as they retain their shape better
I see your still alternate stacks have you tried all the same direction yet. We run all same way with tie grabber that way if you need to come in pick up hay out of the barn you can squeeze any name pack
Hey Dennis, Hope you are well and really enjoy your videos. Bought some property off of bent road and looking to get 5-7 acres cleared off. Let me know if you would be interested in doing some side work.
Hey Dennis . When the skid steer is loaded with the five stacks I noticed it ride on the front boggy wheel rather than the full length of the the track obviously because of the weight . But my question is does it wear heavy on the front bogies? 🤗 . Can you put counterweights on the back ?
That definitely looks like a marmite thing… love or hate lol. I used to have the same kinda principle but on a self load trailer (cooks 56 squeeze trailer) and as you say, if the bottom was the wrong way it was going to be a long hard day! I ended up chopping the trailer up, it just didn’t work for me. They did used to put another bar from the centre of the back plate that ran through the centre of the pack made from something like a 4”flat bar and a 2” flat bar to make a T bar🤷♂
Hay buddy been missing your videos man. I hope all is well and that your all doing good. Hopefully soon we will get a video!! That sucks that you can’t keep picking them up over and over
I see that you stack your hay with no pallets on a concrete floor. My question is this, does any moisture ever wick up from the concrete floor into your hay?
If the hay is dry I have no problems. If the hay was high moisture and I put hay preservative on the bales i have to pay attention to the bottom bales. Most of the time they are ok but sometimes the floor will cause them to mold but just maybe an inch into the bale. But it will usually just be one or two bales in the 10pack, but I try to catch them and pull them out. I had the same problem with pallets and high moisture bales. Usually don’t have any problems with high moisture bales with preservative that are just touching other bales.
Could you use a spotter for efficiency?😂 Perhaps your son? I know this is a loaded question, I am trying to teach my 2 boys to watch and direct me whenever they see back up lights come on. 😂
I did switch it the problem was when it first came here it was backwards then I ran it long enough I got used to it that way but it was wrong when I put it on my tractor so I switched it then I had to relearn on the skid steer but all good now
@@DLHFarms I hate that when you get a thumb or a grapple that's backwards and you don't have no tools and you have to use it for a day that way then you switch it how you want it and have to get used to it again⛽️🚜🇺🇸
Yep that’s what happened kind of. It wasn’t mine to start with it was just a demo so I didn’t mess with it but now it’s mine and I’ve switched it but then had to relearn it.

Hi Sir.

Hey Dennis, hope we see more videos. I have found your videos super helpful for my own little hay business. Thanks again, Merry Christmas!
Hello Dennis,
Hope everything is ok over there haven't heard from you in sometime. Hope to here from you soon👍🏻
Hope you and your family have a great new year!!!
I hope the squeeze works . Miss watching your videos., Hope you start putting out more
Really miss your videos, been subscribed forever. But I can understand the burden of creating videos. Thanks
Hi Dennis . Looks like a great addition to you hay operation. I know it wont take you long to get used to it.

Great video and great machine I am sure you are going to love it, just a little practice 😀👍
Yes I’m getting better with it. I really like how much hay I can move with it.
Great to see you again!! You must have been busy...😊
Very!
Merry Christmas Dennis all I want for Christmas is more DLH videos hope you are well
Haha I’ll see what I can do
Yep, I think its a matter of time and you'll get better at using it 👍🏻
Hope all is well Dennis👍🏻
I’m already getting better with it

Great video. I was considering getting a squeeze until now. I'll have to think about the limitations, and see how they will affect my operation. Thanks!
It has worked out great for my operation, but there is a huge learning curve to this one or you will be picking up a lot of bales by hand often.
Again I to miss the good content videos you put out.
Try put a pair 2x4 ect under in the middle of the stack on the wagon before loading.. May solve the bow down while loading off..
Been looking out for your next catch-up videos Dennis, hope everything going well?

Make sure to keep everything lubed well. Turn the pto brake off on the tractor and turn the stub shaft to line up the spines.
Just wanted to say Merry Christmas Dennis to you and your family. I'm sure everything is going ok but need to check on you once in awhile.
Thank you! Merry Christmas to you!

That thing is nice. I can see it being a pain out in the field with uneven ground but its ideal for the barn. I'd like to see how high a tractor can stack with that.
Yes everything has to be flat or at least on the same plane. My 5711 can pick up 50 bales.
@@DLHFarms Yeah that's just too cool man. Saves you a good bit of time.
Nice video. I can see once a guy gets the hang of that squeeze it will make the process go a lot faster.,as with any machine it has it pros and cons
Once you get the hang of it, it’s the trick.
Hey Dennis, love your channel! Why dont they make a version with like 4 long spears. Like the big one used for round bales. With 4 long spears you could pick it up from any side. Think about it 🤔
It won’t go through the ends of the bales very well unless you are against something solid.
You have more patience than I. Could the pressure on the squeeze cylinder be adjusted? Maybe its to high for the squeeze.
Hope you’re doing well. Miss the vids!
Doing good. Hope to get back to videos soon
It's October already, maybe you'll get some snow this year to plow. Just wanted to say Hi and God Bless.
I hope so!
Just like the hay squeeze trucks they use out west. One off those trucks would be really handy in your shed.
Hmm

Thanks! I’ve had issues with hay when it touches metal for long periods of time, it’s like it attracts moisture where they touch.
Where is Dennis?!?! I feel like we haven’t cut any hay this season nor put up any firewood…lol if you done retired let you know 😂

Everything has been going good! I don’t think I’ll be getting the zero turn cab haha

That will be the next one haha

Yes probably so
If you are in the neighborhood this Friday the 24th , should be there midday. Probably with the big water tank on the left.

It don’t hurt it. The main reason it does that is because of the suspension that is built into those tracks. It allows the boggies to flex

Yeah because of the tie bales and more surface area to grab the sides. I’ve got pretty good at it now though

Yes

How big is your hay barn and do you wish the front of it would be enclosed?
70x135. No I like one end open and one end closed with a door in the middle.
Hey Dennis. I was wondering how your baler was doing.
Doing great. Put about 13k on it so far this year
How come you don't have videos anymore? Really enjoyed your videos

Maybe but not necessarily for me

How about welding a plate 2 or 3 feet high on each side so you are sqeezing 2 or 3 bales at the same time.
