I absolutely love my mechanical grappler for my 1025r. It works great for brush piles. One thing to think about is getting a poking a hole through your front grill. I’ve added a grill guard to help eliminate that problem. Other wise it’s a great addition for me.
The downside I can see in this grapple is that the lower jaw hangs too low, and with a load in the grapple you can't raise the entire grapple to go over a high edge before releasing the load, like you would when loading a dump bed higher than the hood of the tractor. This is where the grapple using a third function works better. If the lower jaw on this could be raised a bit, it would work better, maybe have some sort of trip latch on it that releases and drops the lower jaw when the upper jaw is opened.
Hey DeereX748, thanks for watching! Jason agrees. He says, "This would not be the implement I chose if I was loading a high walled dump trailer. If I was merely displacing materials to a burn pile, for example, I would be giving this a strong consideration. Additionally, I can also appreciate the cost savings when compared to its third function counterpart."
Thanks for watching CJ! Sounds like you've got the hard part taken care of already. The AV20F grapples are hydraulic. We'll have to get a video up on those soon.
Hey there Herbert! Thanks for watching! Florida is a pretty big place, you've got some John Deere dealer options like Everglades Equipment, Beard Equipment, or Ag Pro that can take care of you!

Bought this MG20F for my JD 2038R. It is garbage. In less than 5 hours of use it has broken my 220R loader twice. Picking up logs approx 10” diameter and 8’ long. You close the grapple around the log and if you even slightly over tighten the torque breaks the pin through the loader holder. The loader holder arm is cast iron I think and it’s a $600 repair at the dealership.

@bruceflynn9711 - Great point! That's a great help for some new tractor owners in our Toolkit community. :)

I need a hydraulic grapple for my 3025e. We already have the valves installed because of the lane shark

Maybe you should show picking up something heavier? Very disappointed in your example.
How much do these grapples cost?

Hi John,
We're sorry to hear that! A lot of our customers really like their grapples and get great use out of them. Thanks for watching our video.
Iiiiiii don’t think he uses a tractor that often 😅.
Hey there, thanks for watching the video! Jason owns a 4052R and uses it quite a bit around his property with various implements.
the guy has no idea what he is TRYING to sell.
Thanks for watching! What might you suggest we cover differently in our next mechanical grapple video?
lousy demonstration
Tom, thanks for watching! Drop us a line and let us know when you're available to host the next video.
