🏴
England 🤙🤙
Beer For Breakfast the winner will win! Yeahh #lalangteam
of course England. Harry Kane hattrick :D
You are very brave my friend haha
Ipoh looked great through your lens guys. That coffee shop was so cool, reminded us of a 1980's cafe back in the UK - ( mean that in a good way).
Thanks, guys! Much appreciated ! 🤗
Hey girls, I’m a Malaysian living abroad and god knows how painful it is for me to watch you guys eating delicious Malaysian food!!! I had to fast forward parts of your vids (in this vid- when you zoomed into your nasi ganja). I can’t wait to go back to malaysia and stuff my face with diff Malaysian food!!!!
We totally understand!!!
I’m from Ipoh, the coffee shop named sin yoon loong is my dads classmates establishment. The oldest and the founder of original white coffee. If I am not mistaken, the guy which made your coffee is the owner haha 😂 so nice of you guys making a video of my hometown ❤️
In the old days, the Chinese and Malaysians imitated the westerners and tried coffee instead of their traditional tea. But they couldn’t afford it much of the time, so they would pick up beans from wholes in the coffee sacks and would then “roast” it in a wok with coconut oil.
Kopi susu is usually black coffee with a slurry of sweetened condensed milk in the bottom. Stir it to your desired sweetness, then drink. Same with teh oh, which is black tea with several teaspoons of sugar in the bottom of the glass.
Where's my we don't need notification coz we live in UA-cam gangs at?
Ps: I clicked on the video so fast!! Wonderful as always..
Never know Gunung Lang Recreational Park before, thanks for the vlog 👍.
Lol, both of you addictive to Nasi Ganja.
Many peoples said Ipoh white coffee taste good but I can't drink white coffee because it made my stomach ache.
Thanks for your great vlog 👍.
Always looking forward for your new vlog.
Hope both of you are having a wonderful day 😘.
I am seriously like all your channel..hope fully in one day meet both of you..thanks you for coming to beautiful malaysia..
Thanks so much!!! Really appreciate you watching our videos ♥️
Honestly, you guys are turning into Malaysians day after day🤣 and I love it! Nice content tbh 👍 and also, you guys should come to East Malaysia to experience wildlife at its finest! Sabah and Sarawak has a lot to offer if you guys wanna go on an adventure like no other. Explore Sarawak's very own White Rajah's ( yup, they're from England and became King since 1841 till 1946), visit the first oil rig in Miri, Sarawak, try lots and LOTS of different foods and drinks (especially Tuak cause it's homemade rice wine), and also we got a beautiful vibe going on there :)
Sabah is also well known for it's pearls and the infamous Mt. Kinabalu, which by the way is the highest mountain in all of Malaysia, get to eat rlly fresh seafoods, and observe the Bajau community (which by the way they can hold their breath for up to 10+ minutes underwater).
Keep em videos coming girl!💕 Hope to meet you guys in the near future
We are heading to Borneo on Monday. We are very excited! 🤗
well here are some of the recommendation list before going there:
Kuching
1. Astana goo.gl/maps/x8RVbnVh1V62 (note: you can use the newly added bridge called Jambatan Darul Hana or if there is stiil a water taxi, use it. The price range is usually costs around Rm 1 if you use the water taxi.)
2. Carpenter street goo.gl/maps/ed4wdpPDXPr (they make the best noodles there!)
3. Siniawan Night Marketgoo.gl/maps/C8VeVfMdhwx ( usually opens on Friday and Saturdays I think? The night market there offers a lot of foods for you foodies there)
4. Wind cave, Bau goo.gl/maps/HCti37rCzFy ( experience the nature there! And also, do visit the Bau town as it is the biggest gold mine in Malaysia and the legend says that the town sits at the top of the gold mine *pls correct me if i was wrong)
5. Bako National Park goo.gl/maps/KKcvv967Zru (there you can play with the sands with their epic beaches)
6. Sarawak cultural Village goo.gl/maps/FGs22Ap2wRR2 ( you can learn some of the indigenous tibes there like the notorious headhunters, the Iban tribe, the Bidayuh tribe and lots more. Plus, if u got lucky, you can go to the Rainforest World Music Festival where lots of international and local bands gonna play their piece of art there)
7. Some malls won't hurt right 🤣 here are some of the recommandations
7a. AEON Mall
7b. The Spring
7c. Vivacity Megamall
and some other malls that you can find near there
(If you guys wanna check out Miri, here's some of the recommendation places to visit)
1. The Grand Old Lady goo.gl/maps/JRLa24YscAu (this is where the first oil rig was set up and it's from here that the humble fishing village, Miri became the city that we love and proud of today)
2. Lambir Hills National Park goo.gl/maps/iJwLGPBttK92 (experience rainforest like at its finest! the forest here is older than the ones in Amazon)
3. Tusan Beach goo.gl/maps/nU8FBaQ63hR2 ( here you can get great shots as well )
4. Mulu National Park goo.gl/maps/WMzm3pefWhJ2 ( well this is the top spot for tourists because of its pinnacles. In order to get there, you must buy a plane ticket in order to get there)
5. Ming Cafe goo.gl/maps/CQHLeywaRKt ( here you will be served with lots and lots of beers, liquors and whatever comes in mind when it comes to alcohol)
6. King's Park goo.gl/maps/rjBYxe3qFQ52 ( 2nd favourite spot to drink alcohol and just chill out)
7. Some malls
Must try list:
Midin
Mi kolok (both the white and red versions of it)
Bak Ku Teh
Kueh Chap
Coffee (mind you it is good)
Linut @ Sago ( best eaten with durian soup)
Tempoyak ( which means fermented durian i guess? Correct me if im wrong sarawakians)
Nasi Lelapan
Bakso Beranak ( or regular Bakso if they don't have any)
and many more ( o yeah, tuak is like the best thing here)
Language barriers is not absent here as most of the sarawakians here can speak basic english and malay and our own Malay which is Bahasa Melayu Sarawak.
Do visiit Miri as I'm a local there!
Hope you enjoy your stay in Borneo @Beer For Breakfast !
0w0
I'm a west malaysian but grew up in Sarawak. I have to say, Sarawak is the Best State in all Malaysia.
And Sarawak Laksa is THE BEST FOOD IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!
Disagree?? Fight me! I got Anthony Bourdain backing me up 😆😆😆
I miss breathing the fresh air of borneo.. You can feel it the moment you step out of the plane. I stayed in Kuching for 8 yrs my husband is from there!!
Hi ladies, white coffee in Malaysia is not just coffee with condensed milk. That would just be known as 'kopi'. What's unique about white coffee is the beans are roasted with margarine, which doesn't make it white, but kind of mellows the 'black bitterness' of the coffee beans to a 'white mildness'...it's a figurative description. And then when condensed milk is added, it makes it whiter. The taste of white coffee is a tad milder than regular 'kopi', and has a full bodied sweet coffeeish flavour. Best drunk hot, though the iced version is also a good second option.
The way Justina talk to the Indian guy in the coffee shop very much look like local people. Very friendly and touchy. I'm so happy to see you girls having a good time in Malaysia. As always nice editing and wonderful video 😜😍👍🏽
Thanks so much
Ohhhh dear... that is not the real "nasi ganja" shop. The real one is in chinese coffee shop, they share the same shop at Yang Kalsom Street. Anyway, that nasi kandar also served nice delicious foods, perhaps next time u can try the real one yaaaaaa because their fried chicken can make u guys addict...
As usual, luv u guys and please take care yaaaaa....
They both serve Nasi Ganja. Both delicious in their own right 👍
And if they don’t. That was some pretty tasty Nasi Kandar!! Best we have ever had in Malaysia 👍
Beer For Breakfast u guys better try the real one in your next trip, im sure u can't deny the deliciousness real nasi ganja if u try it in the future. Luv ya...
Love the video editing. Thanks for visiting our town
There are actually lots of signature Ipoh dishes that you missed. Pan Mee(Hand Made Pulled Noodles similar to Japanese Ramen), Chicken Rice with Roast Pork and soup of the day, Wanton Noodles, Dim Sum, Gopeng Fish Ball Vermicelli "Lai Fun", Thunder Tea Rice(Lui Cha Fan) Chinese version of Korean Bibimbap which is Minty instead of Spicy.
Marie France and Lonely Planet voted Ipoh as the No. 1 spot for Coffee in Asia above Tokyo and Chiang Mai!
We are the only city in South East Asia which produce 2 proud Michelin Chefs! One is the popular Chicken Rice Hawker Chan based in Singapore touted as the best Chicken Rice in the world and Kwen Liew who is based in Paris!
The reason for it calling white coffee is the process of roasting the coffee beans, they roast them in a lower fire and a longer time cause of coffee bean that are cooked in a higher heat brings out the caffeine and acidity more.
thanks for that! super interesting!
I bought nasi ganja once for my parents & omg the long queue. Yup nasi ganja pretty famous. Next month 31st August Independence Day I hope you'll girls celebrate with us. Thank you for visiting Ipoh.
We will still be in Malaysia!
New vlog, yeay! Who else with me like the video before finish watching? Lol
Original nasi ganja is at Yoon Suan coffee Shop. S.M Halim always claiming that they have nasi ganja but in fact it is just a normal nasi kandar tbh.
Shut them down immediately 😅
Nasi Ganja = Weed Rice 🌿😁
i am feel sorry for you both. You both got the wrong shop for nasi Ganja. the right shop is the one in front of hotel bajet memori ipoh and it is in chinese kopitiam shop Yong Suan. If you both plan to visit Lumut or Pangkor Island, i can show you both around since i was on holiday for summer break.
Why feel sorry haha. We are not sorry. That Nasi kandar was incredible. The “original” nasi ganja was closed and there was still queues and smiling faces in the place we went to. No worries at all 👍😋
Beer For Breakfast ipoh local here been eating nasi kandar my whole life. It's great that you guys featured another mamak aside from that overrated "original" nasi ganja.
FYI it is the original shop before the previous owner sold it. so basicly they r at the right place
I don't think it's appropriate to say they were wrong to dine there. They found the shop and enjoyed their food...so let it be. Haven't you heard of the expression, 'to each his own'?
It's down to preference.. Just because someone likes a particular place does not mean everything else is bad..
Ganja, if I am not mistaken is another name for marijuana, but the dish obviously does not contain it. Nasi Ganja is basically a nickname for Nasi Kandar, simply because of its addictive taste. The term Nasi Ganja is more commonly used in KL.
It’s actually called white coffee because in Malaysia, many of the old or local roasters cook the beans with sugar, making it darker in colour as they caramelised. White coffee beans are beans roasted without sugar, which actually, is regular way to roast coffee beans.
Welcome to my hometown. Glad that you enjoy your stay.
1:37 the way how the waitress look at Justina is hilarious 😂🤦🏽♀️
You have a new subscriber here. Cheers! Enjoy your stay in Malaysia :-)
Welcome to the family 👋
5:53 Justina, another way of drinking coffee like a local is pouring the coffee into the plate and sip from it.
yeah, I remember doing that in Raub!
Lol i used to that when i was 6-7 yo when the tea is too hot for me to sip from the cup.
I would've forgotten about that have i not read your comment, thanks.
If ur guys like to tke a train ride during yr visit in Sabah..the early train will depart on 07.45am...every morning..to Beaufort eta 10.30am..cost rm5..less than tht fr a person.
The regular coffee that you've been drinking over the world is usually roasted with sugar, margarine and wheat. However, the " white " coffee in Malaysia is roasted without sugar. That's why it has less dark roast colour hence the " white " name. It's not because of it has more condense milk. So you can more enjoy the real taste of the coffee beans without the sugar, and more healthy too.
Gunung Lang.. Do you know that it used to be a secret garden.. Nobody knew this lake because it was surrounded by lime stone hills.. until 'they' destroyed one of the hills for quarry.. 😭😭.. Then the secret was no more a secret.. Luckily the government stopped the destruction.. The lake is not man made..
By simply approaching the park, you can see how it would have been without the interference of people. Especially with the lake and surrounding limestone rocks
Amazing how much of a foodie you guys are!! Watching your videos always gives me the munchies!! Hope that Ipoh was all you expected and more....love your chemistry on screen.
Probably even more munchies from this video in particular lol. Ipoh was great. We would love to come back one day but was an awesome first impression. Thanks for your comment
Where are you girls going next? Can't wait for another video.
Awww i missed my childhood era.. after school am gonna buy white coffee from this stall. " apek kopi ais 1!" Apek means uncle which all malay call all Chinese male who looks like their grandfather.
Ohhh I see Dell! Thanks for sharing this with us ☺️
I am one of your earliest subscriber and your loyal viewer and liker..and yes

Beer For Breakfast lol..I am not a man..I am a chubby girl..hehe..😁
Thanks For The Video I'm Proud To Say I'm From Ipoh... ❤ Love You Guys ❤
if u come to perak again...please mention me... i will bring both of you to NASI BAMBOO RESTAURANT at SUNGKAI... rice in a bamboo...it;s so delicious
The original nasi ganja is at Jln Yang Kalsom. Small stall under a Chinese restaurant's alley but long queues (always full house). You guys missed that maybe next time. If you guys go there the nasi ganja much much more satisfying. Cross fingers.
Clue..going there on Friday or Saturday..ur guys will enjoy the tamu market..at Beaufort.
Thank you sis, promote my state and my country.
you are welcome!!
Watch out Justina... Micha had a real look of love for that chicken. I think you have competition, LOL
15:28 is when the nasi ganja really hit u. Laid back and chill . One of the reason why its called nasi ganja. Love the vlog btw. On to the next vlog. Cant wait. Thumbs up.
And Creamy and dreamy is my favourite quote for today haha.
hahahaha , thanks John!!!!
UA-cam strike for the word "ganja"?? seem like the title has change. congrats on england winning btw. cheers :)
John yunus ganja is also the word for weed in English, so it will probably be demonotized for UA-cam title
Enjoy watching your videos.. Love your honest opinions. Keep up the great work.
Huge thank you !!! ❤️
Hey~ I'm happy that you guys have and amazing time in IPOH~ hope you will come back here again and try nasi ganja at another location in ipoh. Recommended here~ 😜😍👍🏽

Next time you go to ipoh,
Ask your grab driver to bring you to nasi ganja restaurant in Jalan Yam Kalsom (Yam Kalsom Road).
For me honestly, this is the best nasi ganja restaurant ever.
Ha ha.my home town...Nice place..nice air..
Good to see food very good to see both of you
Ipoh is my hometown and its lovely
If you did not know...u can actually ask them for gravy as additional side dish (just gravy), that should cost you $0. They should be more than happy to oblige. So, do ask for it next time. Just don't get too addicted to them. Cheers and have another good one soon.
Loving this tip! Thanks darling 😘
For me I don’t drink coffee normally but white coffee seems so good for like a breakfast drink ☕️ 😋😋😋
Indeed. Very easy to drink!
True but then again I think you can DIY it but the flavor and the taste won’t be the same as the original
never tried nasi ganja...seeing you guys eat them makes me want to lol
Hey girls... Great video... However the famous one is not this... But its at the other end of this Restaurant M. Salim. This isn't too bad either... But it's the better one on the other end
Come to Taiping. One hour from Ipoh at the north of Perak
Oh no Ipoh Perak is my hometown ... nasi ganja is one of my favorite dish when i back to ipoh perak .. also you need to try vangey rice ... White Coffee is one of popular drink from ipoh perak ...
thank you! :)
Beer For Breakfast welcome
actually that restaurant is not the nasi ganja ..
The real one is just nearby...about 50 or 40 yards....away....at the end of the shops row....
next time u come to malaysia u should invite rhys william. he a food lover from UK living in malaysia. u can find him at youtube or IG or twitter. nice to know u'll.
yeah, we know him, we've been talking to him :)
Hi girls, glad your enjoying Malaysia, what a truely wonderful country. I stated work here in 198? something, moving from Australia as a junior Chef, yes you got it, I love the Malaysian foods too. When I'm back in Msia these days I too stay in Cyberjaya and I couldnt agree more with your comments about living in Cyberjaya, its much quieter and a little cooler than KL. Your video blogs are an inspiration and I thought they would be welcomed advice for "newbies" to this country. If you have not yet tried Chaba Thai restoran, just down the road from your place and mine (im at dpulze apartments) you should give it a go, its fabulous and I can see you like the food here, you wont be disappointed. Maybe we can do coffee? Cheers to freedom.......😉
Hey Chris! Thanks for this lovely comment! 💕 ohhh I can see that they offer Thai cuisine ?! 😍 one of our faves too ! We should check it out !
We just left Cyberjaya as we are off to Borneo but if we are ever back, we shall let you know ! 🤩🙋🏼♀️🙋🏽♀️
Have a great time in Borneo (Sabah and Sarawak) do try the Sarawakian Laksa. Selamat jalan
Haha... love the drinking coffee with a spoon. The other local way is to pour some onto the saucer to cool it down and drink from the saucer.
Nasi ganja is yellow rice with chiken goreng
thanks! We remember doing that in Raub actually! but you know what? by the time we finished vlogging an talking about it gets cold anyway hahaha #vloggerproblems
yup its true.. wrong place.. this is not the restaurant nasi ganja... the restaurant name Yong Suan, jalan Yang Kalsum
the original one was closed, but we didn't mind the one that we've been to ! it was really good!
Nasi kandar ayam merah aka nasi ganja at restoran yong suan is the most famous nasi ganja in ipoh, while M Salim is actually famous with their best fish head curry in ipoh.
restaurant Salim is also nice, famous of lamb curry but the original nasi ganja is outstanding at yong suan, kicking
White coffee best served cold!!...🤤🤤
Next time try nasi ganja at Yong Suan, near to M.Salim shop....
You should try mee kicap also. My favourite dish when I back to Ipoh.
kaya is somewhat like butterscotch, but made using coconut milk. to roughly sum it up
people go there (gunung lang) for wedding photoshoot because of the scenery , hope you enjoy your stayed here . actually the shop you went is not the famous ipoh nasi ganja , hehe , it's near the shop you eat juz a few blocks from there
We heard that there was another across the road but honestly it was amazing so no worries 😉
Beer For Breakfast yup , juz across the shop you went . maybe next time you come to ipoh you can go there
Im sorry to correct you guys, but the original Nasi Ganja is at Restoran Yong Suan, not far from Restoran M. Salim.
no problem , the original one was closed, so we tried our luck at this one and had no regrets 🙃
Hehehe btw if you guys in Ipoh next time you should go to Nasi Vanggey at Greentown. Just as good as nasi ganja at Yong Suan. Selamat hari raya guys! :)
Hoping you guys enjoy yourselves at my hometown 😘
Thanks darling
The old town white coffee and original white coffee do taste similar. You don't need to be too reserved with your opinion. At the end of the day, it's your opinion anyhow
m.salim not the real nasi ganja... but their nasi kandar also very nice..
u should try m.salim’s fish head curry or beriani anarkali....first bite will make u high like smoke weed...
Yum! 🤩
white coffee actually just as same as any most coffee served in Malaysia, using condensed milk instead of milk, unless you go to starbuck or any almost "fancy" restaurant, where they using an actually milk which is more expensive than condensed milk. in fact almost every popular drinks in Malaysia using condensed milk, Coffee In Malaysia they add a little bit of margarine in it. if you get to the store and find "classic" black coffee power, in the ingredient usually you can see margarine is added. the reason he don't want to go to the back of the restaurant because there is a coffee powder that he using, which is just regular cheap brand, which is why he stop you to go there.
thanks for sharing your knowledge!
white coffee beans is plain roasted. not using any oil or butter while roasted. therefore the bean is not black aftter roast like normal bean
Ipoh!!my hometown!! Hehhee
iT's called nasi ganja as the original recipe rice contains kaskas (poppy seeds)
Did not know that! Thanks for the info
Guys guys u get the wrong nasi ganja... The famous nasi ganja it is the same row as the salim nasi kandar at the other end of the shop..but im pretty sure u already know it by now.. And confident to say that u will coming back to ipoh soon remember sin yuan shop for original and famous nasi ganja and it a plus combo with ice tea@teh ais... Sure walaweiii@superb
Yeh we know. It was closed when we arrived at 2pm 😦. There is always a next time 😎
Do come back soon guys.. You should check the nature in perak next time... 😊😊😊😊😊😊
Actually Restoran M.Salim is not the Nasi Ganja. The real Nasi Ganja is 3,4 shoplots besides this restaurant. Its call Kedai Kopi Yong Suan.It is a chinese coffee shop but serve the Nasi Ganja.Feel bad for both of you for not trying the real one. Hoping u guys can come again.
Yup, the real Nasi ganja but still M.salim is also great.
I'm Ipoh born and the place you went to is not the original nasi ganja. It's just nasi kandar as others have pointed out here. Any ways stay safe and enjoy your trip to Malaysia. 😎
Take one day to wacth all your video ..hope you always have a nice day ..and come again next year
Thanks so much !
Google a restaurant named "Kam Wan Restaurant DongGuTing" it is at Canning Garden Ipoh, it's the best curry noodle you will ever taste. Take a taxi there but they
will only open at 7pm onwards. It is an open concept of restaurants in a row. There's some tasty seafood with sea shells and mantis shrimp. Give it a try.
I think Nasi Ganja just round the corner from M.Salim Nasi Kandar..Kedai Kopi Yong Suan Yang Kalthom Road
Yes that is the correct nasi ganja
hey guys u should go to gua tempurung if u are in perak....
When do you guys planning to do trip in Indonesia? Cant wait to see your tour around Indonesia soon.
Ohh noo the Ipoh original shop Nasi Ganja is just nearby. Same block but opposite end actually. 😢
Sory girls. Im ipoh citizen. You got a wrong place for nasi ganja. Its a 20 meters from M Salim restaurent. End lot for that building. Btw its ok for first time.
another way of drinking coffee/tea by the local is pouring the drinks into the saucer that came with it. Large surface area will cool it much faster. this is usually done by a parents for their child so this way of drinking is nostalgic for most malaysian.
Another popular way is ordering the drinks with term "aircond" like I want teh tarik aircond and you should receive the hot drinks on a saucer with ice on it. the ice outside act as "aircond" to the drinks. you can put the ice in tho according to how cold you wanna bring your temp down.
Oh yes we have seen this technique before! Very interesting!
ohh my senpai noticed me hahahahaha you should try it if you got an extremely hot drinks (sometimes the restaurant just wanna burn our tounges off hahaha) or simply when having hot drinks on the afternoon!
Hope you have a great time :)
hahaha, to be honest with you, whilst we film it and talk about , all of our food and drinks always gets cold anyway hahaha #vloggerproblems
Reading some comment, tbh all i can say is that u cant get wrong with 'weed", as long it makes us happy lol.
hahaha, sooo true!!! It made as very very happy!!!!
............Fun fact drinking coffee or tea with a spoon makes it way more enjoyable it somehow even taste different even better.... oh well~#cheerstofreedom
Less comment now cos so many commented. Love your IPOH journey.

If you ever make a trip back to Ipoh, take a drive about 1.5 hours south to the small town Teluk Intan. You'll find some gastronomic delights there as well, including the well kept secret, Nasi Lambai ;)
