To be fair your instructions were spot on my friend and solved my screen issue completely - so well done for that! The music on the other hand was another issue all together. At one stage I wanted to use the LCD stylus pen to pop my eardrums until they bled to ensure I couldn't hear that awful music again :) it was so bad the`t even on mute I could still hear it ;-)
After I did ./LCD35-show it rebooted itself and ran through a bunch of stuff only to say at the bottom not syncing: vfs: unable to mount root far on unknown-block. Now I can't turn on my raspi
Got the screen working so grateful for that but its totally uncalibrated and i cant get the calibrator to run it jus says "failed lock on packaging backend" when i try to install it
Is it possible to display the raspberries at boot up? I am using Ubuntu mate and WANT to have the raspberries at boot up but only see them on the HDMI screen not the 3.5. Do you know if there is there a way to put them on the 3.5 screen?
I've got a problem with this screen, to be exact , with the touchscreen part , it's axis are inverted , i have already tried swapxy=1 , it got me closer, i tried to calibrate it with xinput_calibrator but when i touch the markers it thinks i miss-clicked and it resets the calibration , any ideea guys ?
Hi, Thanks for the informative video. Touch works perfectly but not able to see on screen key board pop up in text fields ? Can you suggest how to ? Thanks
Is there a way to undo or remove the driver? Retropie has become glitchy when it's being displayed on a monitor via HDMI since I installed it. I don't think my pi was connected to the internet at the time. Thanks!
Hey dude, I did all the steps but I encountered a problem, it does boot and all(using retropie) but whenever it finishes booting the screen just stays black, if I press f4 it does take me to the commands and all but it wont show me the menu. Heeelp.
hi When I execute "expand filesystem" in the raspberry config 'it registers me "yor partition layout is not currently supported by this tool. You are probably using NOOBS, in which case yur root filesystem is allready expanded anyway" the pi reboots after all the steps but it wont start up (blank screen) and it says unable to mount root? the last line is "end kernel panic - not syncing: VFC: uneble to mount root fs on unknoun-block(179.2)"
ZVS Introduction thank you for your reply, I will download the os and try it again hope it will work, I bought a screen and those ppl gave me a driver that didn't work so have been struggling for a couple of days to get the screen working
after i type the sudo git clone etc i get the folder on my desktop but when i type'1s i get bash: 1s: command not found, any idea what ive done wrong here?
Holy shit... I just wanted a tiny monitor, now I have to go through hell. Amazing. I can't get this to work at 3:48 I get "no such file or directory" Tried following this 3 times. I cannot do it.
Thank you, I didn't get it quite right watching the video, but since you listed all the commands in the details I was able to run back through it and get it right. Wooo Hooo!
The pulsing screen distorts the video so badly I cannot read what your trying to display, it appears that you know what your doing but want everybody to see your expertise in video control/distortion please provide the text of the Raspberry Pi screens in a text file remember, all screen phosphors are not the same speed thanks
This video makes alot of assumptions. it does not show how he SSH into it nor does it list what rasberry pi version is running. we can only guess what that dongle is for?
Can you sell me an sd card that is already programmed? If so, let me know how much $$$ ? Nobody on ebay seems to be able to know how to do this. i contacted like 10 sellers that sell preloaded sd cards with retropie. Why is this so difficult? i have sat and watched videos and followed instructions for hours....with no results but failure. Could you please help?
Do not use the kedei device as a part of your operating system. it will work but unless you block all updates of the linux kernel, it will stop working on an upgrade. and even if you think you have blocked updates they sneak in somehow. if you have one of these devices it is much better to use it as a display device. github.com/lzto/RaspberryPi_KeDei_35_lcd_v62/blob/master/kedei_lcd_v62_pi_wiringpi.c works for me.
This is a bit annoying to change from : “R-pi display to HDMI” mode or “HDMI to R-pi display” mode. if you want to give a public presentation or if you make projects involving the HDMI connector at the same time using a extended display or cloned display or projecting video or images PNG. This is a disadvantaged!!! #I feel like I want to return my display now#. Can you setup dual display mode with this tft display? If you can do it? Show us how to do it, please!
1 - Get rid of the annoying music. 2 - Zoom in better to the screen. Directly onto the screen rather than how you have it. 3 - sudo su. Why then subsequent sudo prefixes to commands? 4 - Before you make this clip, make sure you know what you want to type. It is annoying when you are messing around trying to type (and doing it wrongly) or just freezing when trying to type a command. 5 - When you show what you type, make sure it is correct. it should be sudo raspi-config 6 - Looking at other links it doesn't work anyway. So really I wasted a lot of time trying and not succeeding. It is also interesting this has been here for a YEAR and you posted the music is bad and yet haven't done much about it. Can't you delete it or force a link to the newer version?
I apologize to everybody for irritating music. I will use other types of music.
Awww. I turned up the volume to 11. That way I found I could get my nose & ears to bleed. ;)
To be fair your instructions were spot on my friend and solved my screen issue completely - so well done for that! The music on the other hand was another issue all together. At one stage I wanted to use the LCD stylus pen to pop my eardrums until they bled to ensure I couldn't hear that awful music again :) it was so bad the`t even on mute I could still hear it ;-)
dude the soudtrack is dope, adding it to my spotify
this video does no good for showing how to install
You gave people free advice. If they want to choose music, let them hire a consultant next time. ;)
Just use mute, folks, and thank him for the help!
Do you know how to revert the raspberry pi from the LCD screen to a minister?
After I did ./LCD35-show it rebooted itself and ran through a bunch of stuff only to say at the bottom not syncing: vfs: unable to mount root far on unknown-block. Now I can't turn on my raspi
disconect the power cabel and conect again

Mine has done it too and have had to reinstall it every time and the screen still won't work
Brian Hatzelhoffer the same thing happened to me, I'm not sure what's going on but I would like to have the screen working at some point.
All I get is under voltage, how can I fix that little problem, because I’m using the recommended voltage for the pi
Got the screen working so grateful for that but its totally uncalibrated and i cant get the calibrator to run it jus says "failed lock on packaging backend" when i try to install it
Hey I know this is late but when I do the steps it asks for a github username and password and I put it all in and it didn’t work

1. sudo nano /boot/config.txt
2. add the line
lcd_rotate=2
3. Save it
4. Reboot
Make sure u deleted any display related code lines that u added or changed previously
Hi,
Thanks for the informative video.
Touch works perfectly but not able to see on screen key board pop up in text fields ?
Can you suggest how to ?
Thanks
Great!, but its possible play video with this touchscreen and OMXplayer ? How ?
Is there a way to undo or remove the driver? Retropie has become glitchy when it's being displayed on a monitor via HDMI since I installed it. I don't think my pi was connected to the internet at the time. Thanks!

when i type 1s (this part is at 2:50) it says bash 1s: command not found. help please
it's "ls" | "L" not "1"
hey i got a question, the pi reboots after all the steps but it wont start up (blank screen) and it says unable to mount root?
Hi i think you haven't quit from "root admin" before restart your system. In this case you need to reinstall your os.
ZVS Introduction thank you for your reply, I will download the os and try it again hope it will work, I bought a screen and those ppl gave me a driver that didn't work so have been struggling for a couple of days to get the screen working
ZVS Introduction how i quit the root admin?

What was that you did in raspi-config?
after i type the sudo git clone etc i get the folder on my desktop but when i type'1s i get bash: 1s: command not found, any idea what ive done wrong here?

Hi! How can I run Android with this display?
Actually, just four commands. First two is not necessary.
Tested on latest noob and works like swiss clock.
Really direct informative video and much better than the example of what needed to be done from the screen supplier.
Thank You :)
How to revert. For use HDMI?
sudo ./LCD-hdmi
Daniel Debert did not work, I'd like to change to show on tv as well.
I opened the command, and typed this code and appeared to me "command not found"

This can be a very difficult job to do especially for us noobs but your music is mind wrenching lol
my touch does not respond to touch
I found it very hard to hear the narration over the loud obnoxious music.
Does this only work for this specific screen model?
Awesome video ! Many thanks !
Still not a clue. You're doing things and going places that most of us have never been or seen. And my screen lights up but no words or graphics.

Try a little classical music next time.
I tried but after "chmod +x LCD35-show" command, an advice appears requesting permissions :/ Thanx for your video bro ^_^
Hey man!! If I could give you a 1000 thumbs up I would. Now my pi is more than a paperweight!!
If you read any of the above comments, you could transform your pi into a working pi again.
Do not use the kedei device as a part of your operating system. it will work but unless you block all updates of the linux kernel, it will stop working on an upgrade. and even if you think you have blocked updates they sneak in somehow. if you have one of these devices it is much better to use it as a display device.
