The screen definitely works because it shows the startup service status messages. It won't load the gui. I can drop back down to shell but I don't know what to fix. There's all kinds of conflicting info on this friggin thing and waveshare support is fcuking useless. 10hrs on this GDMF problem.

I unplugged it and powered back on several times only to see the couple pages of code load up and then nothing. Can't even reset or go to the menu fro retropie and raspian. It seems the sd card is corrupted somehow now and I can't get into the code because I dont have a device that can read/write on a sd that small, and the pie just freezes up on that downloaded code every time at startup. Hey, ah, the code to revert back to the external screen is only different by the last line "sudo ./LCD35-hdmi"... so to switch between the 2 (LCD screen & monitor), you only need to execute "sudo ./LCD35-hdmi" for monitor & "sudo ./LCD35-show" for the 3.5 screen?

@@TrickiKnow if sir I get bootloop or any kind of things how can I recover it because I am purchasing soon.. raspberry pi3b+ with LCD screen 3.5inch
Thank you. This got my screen working in seconds, while I’ve been trying for days searching online with no luck. It really is super easy.
However, is there a super easy way to uninstall it? Not revert it back to HDMI, or disable it, but completely remove the script, or completely undo what the script does?
Thanks!
If i have not any hdmi display then? If i buy new raspberry pi with 3.5 inch lcd monitor then it will automatically support or i have to plug my pi to any other hdmi monitor.
is it possible to keep the hdmi port active while using the lcd so you can have dual screen?
I have the same exact LCD screen that you have and after doing the first part, I have nothing on my LCD screen on a Raspberry Pi 2 B and I can't get back to where I can use HDMI !!! What can I do??
Hi there, works great! only my touchscreen seems to be reversed, top is bottom & bottom is top, any idea? thanks, laurens
You should have to try screen calibration 😀
is there any way to fix this screen so it shows the full desktop? I've tried everything and it seems to cut off about 1/4 of the screen. While not too terrible, it does affect some programs I try to run. The whole point of me getting this was so I could have a portable pi SDR, but I can't use some functions on the program in question because it cuts part of the screen off.
Does not work for me. Screen goes white.
Even after running ./LCD-hdmi, still the resolution is screwed.
Warnig: Please have backup and be ready to flash over again if it is screwed.
I had the same 3.5 LCD screen that is given in link
how to add the display on top of the pi,if there are some connections or jumper wires from the gpio pins?
Hey show after purchasing my screen I used your link and after the reboot it turned back on with the HDMI my touchscreen did not turn on and now it is telling me end kernel panic not syncing unable to mount root on unknown block can you help me I did everything the exact way you explained it in your video but it's just not working and now I'm stuck on the code screen
Hey I had a question what if one needs to use the normal gpios for connecting motors n similar components even with LCD attached ?
ok how long is the installation suppozrd to last? Its stuck at the window for me
I will did not stuck, may be your lcd will not work with this method.
Good morning, friend, I really liked the video you made of how to configure the lcd 3.5 on raspberry. but I have problems, my touch is inverted, I always have to touch the opsto of the image in order to work, would you have the command to be able to rotate the screen at 180 degrees? Thank you very much in advance
i have the same issue
Can this work together with the hdmi ports?
hey man, i bought Raspberry Zero W and i bought 2 inch screen that has SPI interface. My question is - how do i connect display's SPI wires to the Pi board?
I have tried various ways and this way worked thank you very much. HOWEVER LOL the mouse is opposite to where my finger is any idea to get it the right way round?
This works great, thanks. One issue is my keyboard and mouse have stopped working - how do i get them to work as well?
Install the fresh copy of raspbian to fix your mouse keyboard problem 😀
Is there any screens with screw holes or something to stop the screen tilt when you press it
Hi ! Do you know where I can get a 3.5 inch protection ? Like a tapered glass one ? Can find 3 inch but not 3.5 inch... Thanks !
In my Raspberry pi 3b, after typing the codes in terminal it runs. But it stucks on the sentence "Started Load/save.It will switch status and remains stuck for hours. What to do in this case??
I have question: could you tell me if is the way to shutdown only display. When I left only one pin 5V and reconnect I see only white screen.
very nice video well explained where to get the touch display to work is really not a big challenge ... but i'm looking for a way to use the 3.5 inch dsplay and my hdmi output at the same time i don't want to be on the all the time look small display !? I'm curious if you know something :)
hello man, thanks for sharing. but do you know how to revert them back to headless raspberry pi (connecting display using VNC Viewer but cant seem to connect)
will it support or raspberry pi zero w?
I think so , if raspbian installed 😀
