Class musicians taking a great composition to wonderful places. I hope Bill hears this. At 5:28 it seems as though Bill begins using Peter Beets. So awesome.
Its just a shred through the whole tone scale i think, so if he's got perfect pitch, hed just have to know where the first note is, and then just run down the scale.
It is not a matter of perfect pitch. It's a classic leak that Monk always plays on a dominant chord. When you know it it is very easy to recognize it, and since it's on the whole-tone scale, it is basically the same notes on all possible chords, so 0 perfect pitch needed (to be precise there is two possibilities because there is two whole tone scales). Sry if my english is bad.
Love those little moments like the one at 4:24, similar thing happened between Kurt and the bass player in this video at 2:25: ua-cam.com/video/BNqmkdd2Kg8/v-deo.html
I was listening to this and thinking, "yeah it's good, but not THAT impressive..." but then I remembered this is a club gig and not a recording session, and I realized that Kurt's solo is f&*ing stunning in that it is flawless in this moment.
FORMIDABLE VIDEO!!! ROSEWINKEL, JOUE AVEC SES DOIGTS MAGIQUES ET AUSSI AVEC SES PAUPIÈRES...!!! MERCI MILLE FOIS !!!
Rosenwinkel is without a doubt one of the great post-Holdsworth players today!!

4:24 that moment when everyone notice kurt do the same lick as the piano player.

Kurt has perfect pitch which makes it quite easy for him to do so!

@@erlendjulieb1760 yes it is
@@travelingman9763 perfect pitch doesn't allow you to hear it and play it fast like this. It was something else.

Have seen Kurt live, He's one of the best jazz guitarists alive.
