Thank you for watching. My heart is broken with what happened to Abbey but I am excited to see what Kizzy will have. I would love to know if you have a pregnant mare ready to foal too.

I actually have a stallion :) His name is Lord Byron and he is 12yo. We are a couple since last September. I do not know if he ever breed but he surely did not with the previous owner. He is a very docile and smart boy :)

Love your training videos. I have seen two and your teaching is very practical. I especially like the comment you made about walking the small circle when lunging with a green horse--my trainer insists I should not move from the center but I can tell with my new 4YO DW he relaxes more when I "stay a bit" with him in the direction.
I am so sorry that Abbey had her accident. I cannot imagine how heartbroken you must have felt. I hope by now with the new foal out of Kiz you have new joy in your life.

Such a sad outcome ... but you had to do what was best for her ... you are right /// You / me/we all have to move on sometime
Thanks for the share, much love to you ...
    I reckon another Filly,
The Universe will bring "Abbie" .back to you x Take care

@@BasicHorseTraining you are truly welcome ... I was around horses for my childhood as my sister was very good ... she was a BHS AI, ran her own Yard and trained a lot of three-day eventers.
I had no choice but to be there ... until I found sailing ... then I was gone ...
I never enjoyed Riding, but I have always appreciated the synergy and the beauty that is apparent when the horse and rider just work well together ... I cannot wait for news ... Wishing you well x

I just found your channel and have been enjoying watching your very informative and fun videos..I love the training style you teach, you're very good at it and very thorough. I also love that you teach patience, kindness, love and positive reinforcement to get the desired outcome! Bravo 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼
When I found this video, I cried my eyes out! 😭 Abby was a beautiful girl and clearly a sweetheart. What a horrific and heart wrenching accident, the vet did an excellent job especially considering the severity of her injury. I'm so sorry for your loss I can't imagine how hard that was for you, loving her from her foaling day until her last.. You gave her one last gift, not letting her endure a lifetime of pain. You're a kind soul and these beautiful creatures are just as lucky to have you as you are to have them! Thank you for sharing!!
PS: I'm a born and raised Kentucky girl so I've been around horses my entire life and have seen every type of trainer.. good and bad plus veining in between. You're definitely one of the best trainers I've EVER seen! You don't overcomplicate training and I love the way you explained how RELEASING the pressure is how they learn, not strong-arming them.. Too many trainers don't understand that!

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. I read your comment and promptly burst into tears again. My heart is still very raw and I miss Abbey a lot. Her little sister Lilly has just started whinnying to me in the morning when I come out to feed - just like Abbey did. Makes me smile to hear her and to remember Abbey. ❤️. Thank you for your kindness.

Absolute tragedy! Very weepy viewing! The shakiness in your voice is heartbreaking Josie!
This video is a world in time ago now. Thus the new foal is probably years under saddle & your memories of Abbey, are likely more joyful than painful!
Your videos are very clear, concise & beneficial, thankyou Josie. You're obviously a skilled trainer/handler/rider & appreciate your explanations & sharing!
I wonder how Kizzy is doing these days; a beautiful girl, she is! Best wishes 💫🐴🐎🙏

The pain from losing Abbey is still very fresh in my heart Benita and I think it always will be. She was my heart horse. Lilly is the foal Kizzy was carrying and I have her birth on my channel. She is currently 18 months old and the most beautiful soul. I know she will never leave as I like to think Abbey sent her to me to ease the pain of losing her. Thank you for your kind words I truly appreciate them.

Oh, man! You weren't kidding about those pics being graphic. I am so sorry, beyond my ability to express for your loss.
I have asperations to have horses, but I currently have goats. I do packing with them at they are amazing for that!
I had an absolutely perfect white LaMancha doe who was my best pack goat. She died of pregnancy complications right as the pandemic was starting, on March 20, 2020. That cut me to my core. I will never forget my Ruby.
I have since found 2 other LaManchas, a wether and another doe who are doing wonderfully with their packing. After that, I rescued 2 Alpine bucklings who were going to be sold for meat. All are amazingly wonderful and beautiful in their pack gear.
The only way to honor the creatures we lose is to love the ones we have even more.
