    Certainly. Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs) are popular for long-term investments due to their diversified nature. ETFs offer exposure to a wide range of assets, such as stocks, bonds, or commodities, which can help reduce risk. Some top choices for long-term investing include broad market index ETFs, sector-specific ETFs, and bond ETFs, as they provide potential for growth and income over an extended period while minimizing the risk associated with individual stocks.

      Numerous compelling stocks span various industries for you to consider tracking. While it's not necessary to act on every prediction, enlisting the guidance of a financial advisor is advisable. They can assist you in determining optimal entry and exit points for purchasing and selling shares or ETFs, ensuring well-timed decisions aligned with your investment goals.

      I agree, that's the more reason I prefer my day to day investment decisions being guided by an advisor seeing that their entire skillset is built around going long and short at the same time both employing risk for its asymmetrical upside and laying off risk as a hedge against the inevitable downward turns, coupled with the exclusive information/analysis they have, it's near impossible to not out-perform, been using my advisor for over 4years+ and I've netted over 2.8million.

    When my son was 7 or 8 his dentist recommended braces. I’m no Dr but his teeth looked so perfect to me in person and on all X-rays. It would have been extremely difficult for me to pay for them AND my intuition told me it might be a scam. I’ve been looking at my son’s beautiful smile for 31 years, no braces, no issues, no crooked teeth. It was a risk and scary but I was willing to get him braces in high school but were never needed.

    I have a "different" slant on the property tax appraisal appeal subject.
    I'm retired, 73 y.o., and living on a fixed income. I've lived in my house since 1986, and my mortgage is less than $450/mo.
    When I see current housing costs, especially apartment rentals, I ask myself what in the World I would do if I were forced to go house-hunting?
    When I receive my yearly property tax bill, I just laugh at the appraisal amount they have listed for my house. I want to call them up and say, "I'll sell you my house for that amount TODAY!!"
    The unfortunate truth is that I have not kept up with maintenance as I should have, and although some houses in my neighborhood may be bringing that kind of sales price, almost certainly, mine would not.
    I dare not appeal the appraisal amount the tax bill lists, because any inspection done during any appeals process could result in bigger problems for me than an uncomfortably high tax bill.
    I have to just "suck it up" and pay.
    I just wanted to mention this side of the coin for any others in my circumstances who might be thinking of appealing their appraisal next time around: be careful what you wish for; you might just get that (much!) lower appraisal. . .and, consequently, find yourself facing worse consequences than a high property tax bill.

    • @Michelle-bw1xg
      @Michelle-bw1xg Місяць тому +2

      Hard to imagine why appealing assessed value could be a negative unless there is a risk that the value is higher than current assessed value and therefore could go up. In our area the appeals appraisers would not be a city inspector so hard to understand the consequences you speak of. Filing timely for a reduction, with a contractor quote of repairs for deferred maintenance could be a possible adjustment, depending on condition of other comparable sales. Many homes if not new have some possible deferred maintenance. You may be able to get a copy of the appraisal to see what comps and adjustments were used to see if they are reasonable or not. Best.

    Credit Freeze is a bit extreme, you can just do a fraud alert on credit bureaus.

    • @KufLMAO
      @KufLMAO Місяць тому

      You should be doing both. With the big 3 I was only able to get them to do it for a year, but a freeze you just set and forget (still check your report from time to time of course). However with some of the smaller secondary bureaus like Innovis I was able to convince the representative on the phone to put me down for a 7 year extended alert. So that was nice.
      So I’m frozen with the big 3, Innovis, LexisNexis, and ChexSystems. SageStream was bought out by LN so that one’s already covered, and Teletrack (formerly CoreLogic) was bought out by Equifax but got some reason still needed to be frozen separately. But the only option for them was mailing it in, and I sure as hell ain’t doin that. But as for the rest, it was well worth it and probably took less than an hour.

    We have personal property that went up 52%, as i asked around the neighborhood people were getting anywhere from 50% to 90%, and then our next door neighbor and a couple of others didn't get an increase at all! We appealed and met with the county and believe me when i say that they didn't even wantvto hear about my findings of no % to 90%. Why? Because they don't have an answer and don't care. We got included in a class action with an attorney and now we just play the waiting game. No on at the county knows what they are doing????
