All those years bitter and alone for nothing because of some money you don’t even use and misunderstood good intentions. Sophia said she regrets leaving that way. I wonder if she constantly wondered if keeping the baby a secret was a mistake or not.

Ngl i cried at the end of the game. It was so touching and the twist was epic. The story of Anton and Sophia was so adorable and tragic especially when they read the letter. Unwound/Lost was my first and favorite but P/D box was super touchinggT^T
I always thought the Don Paolo reveal would’ve been WAY better if it was Don Paolo all along, rather than his very obvious appearance in Dropstone. Because this was my first Layton game, it was very unexpected for me, but if you’d played curious village before then it was sorta obvious. Having Don Paolo disguised as Flora from the beginning would’ve been smarter, and also could’ve explained why “Flora” was tailing Layton and Luke.
My first game was curious village, I was excited to have flora tag along, then was disappointed when she got replaced... knowing the other games are just prequels of the first 2 games I already knew I wouldn't see her again

Just ended this game. When the "pick the right sword" puzzle showed up I almost immediately though about the sword next to the armor suit, but I unpocked 3 hints anyway because I was just too anxious if I was mistaken Layton would have died in a swordfight
Layton needs to be in Smash, he is really good at swordfighting. If a regular lawyer like Phoenix Wright can fight in Marvel vs Capcom, if a regular schoolboy like Light Yagami can fight in Jump Force, I'm sure Layton ca--wait. How come Light is not a playable character in Jump Force?

So, what happened was that the town was a mining town but they accidently drilled into a vein of hallucinogenic gas, which started making the townspeople really sick. Sophia was pregnant at the time and didn't want to risk endangering the baby, so she left Anton, who was now the Duke of the town and couldn't leave. Hope that explains it for ya!
