Man, thank you so much for these videos. I'm restoring a 1981 passport right now and your series (as well as this one) is so helpful. I especially appreciate your painting tips, even though I'll be rattle-canning mine. I'm sticking a 125cc lifan on it since it doesn't have the original motor. Also could use that charger on my old beat up Ural.

maybe you can help me I have the same problem I replaced the neutral switch now I get a green light but when I hit the start button the green light dims still getting nothing maybe have a short somewhere can you help me with this
I'd start with checking the battery. If you have a multimeter, test the DV voltage of the battery. It should be over 6V.
Hi there I’ve got a 1980 c70 and i have the exact same issue, did you ever figure it out ? I’ve cleaned every connection and bench tested the solenoid and it still doesn’t work! thank you, i hope we figure it out.

I got my 70 passport stared, idles great, give it gas and it bogs or wants to die. If I leave it idling it runs great, can’t get it to throttle? Any suggestions? Even though the carburetor is new, it’s after market and not sure if it’s still the carburetor.
Long time no see Larry! Could be jetting or slide needle position. If you didn't do any adjustments from stock on the new carb to the slide needle position washer, that would be my first point of investigation. Drop it down makes the mix more lean, raise it up makes it more rich.

Is their a way to convert a 81 c70 to 12v?
There is definitely a way. I've seen similar conversions on other things here on UA-cam. I'd say any 6v -> 12v conversion on any motorcycle would apply to the C70 as well.
Where do you get you top end kits from? was looking at the ebay kits, have you tried them?
The top end kit that I used here was provided by the owner of the bike. I believe he got it from ebay. I'd trust them enough for my own C70 as well (if I needed one). You can check out my entire C70 series playlist on my channel for the one I'm currently restoring.
Can I see the battery pulled out? I wanna see what I’m missing :,) so far missing the negative cable for mine. Due to my family throwing out my old battery with the cable🤦🏼♀️ but just wanna see how its set up🤔 can send the vid to my #? if you like :,)
You can literally run a piece of wire from the negative battery terminal to anywhere on the body and you're good!

Great videos. I rebuilt a 1971 Honda 70M a few years ago and enjoy the hell out of it but is one part I cannot figure out how to install.
It"s called a chain case gasket and it's OEM part number is 40591041000. I's a rubber piece that somehow is at the front of the drive chain and protects either the drive chain or the frae from interference by the drive chain. This part was used on a number of C 70, C 90, C 100, etc models but I cannot find a diagram showing where or how this rubber gasket/seal/? is assembled. Any ideas?
