In 2011 Brian said in another interview, that the original inspiration was the young female fans that followed them around Europe, attending several of their concerts. I just enjoy the songs and try not to think that every song is a personal statement about the author or singer's life.
see, Brian's interviews change a bit throughout the years. I mean when someone talks about taking someone down by their red light or a red fire light, it usually alludes to some pay for loving action. So I guessed it was about the camp followers on the Queen campaign trail.
I hated this song as a younger woman….now I realize it’s just straight up fun. Sassy Freddie is always fun. And that Brian wrote it makes it even better. Lol
