Pec pod Sněžkou is a charming ski resort in the Czech Republic, in the heart of the Krokonose mountain range, beloved by the Czechs. The highest mountain in the Czech Republic, Sněžka, reaches 1,602 m above sea level.
The main attraction of any mountain resort is, of course, the mountains themselves and everything around them. Despite its relatively low altitude, Sněžka will delight you with a variety of trails of varying difficulty, there are 11 of them, clearly divided by color, there is even one “black”. Therefore, neither those taking their first steps on skis, nor real aces will be bored here. Three of the resort’s trails are illuminated in the evening. A fun park is open for snowboarding enthusiasts, and the local branch of the Špindlerův Mlýn Ski School Spindl offers ski courses and equipment rental.
Pec pod Sněžkou is a lovely, quiet place in the valley of the Upa River, which does not prevent it from being a very popular tourist and sports centre. You can get to the top of Sněžka by funicular, which goes either directly from Pec or via Růžová Hora, which makes the route even more interesting. The road is open from 8:00 to 19:00. Ticket prices range from 150 to 290 CZK depending on the route. Family, children's and other discounted tickets are available.
