Roussillon is a beautiful old Provencal village, just 39 km southeast of Avignon, located on a cliff with fantastic natural landscapes! In addition to the completely unique ocher canyons located directly next to Rousillon, where ocher was once mined, the town is famous for its Provençal-style houses built during the 17th - 18th centuries.
The population of the commune in 2010 was 1,305 people.
Listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France, Roussillon is also a predominantly ocher village. All its well-kept houses are painted ocher. The central square is gorgeous, decorated with flowers and dotted with restaurants. This village also offers wonderful views of the peaks of the Val des Fées and the Chaussée des Géants. The color palette is amazing!
Rousillon is a very small village, so you can only expect souvenir shops and craft workshops. On Thursday mornings you can visit the market.
