I remember swimming at Colorado Springs. The pool had rocks at the bottom. The name "Garden of the Gods is familiar, but I don't remember the park. This is the first time I've typed since my surgery. My finger is still wrapped up a lot. but I'm glad my first typing is for you! 🙂
The juxtaposition of lush green trees surviving in scorching dry hard rock, reminds me that we will never be thirsty because God is with us during ‘hard’, heated times on our journey. Big hugs to you and Mom.
We used to go to Garden of the Gods every summer when we would go to a ranch and stay for a week with our church. My mom’s cousin had a Candle shop at Pikes Peak and would get a candle every year.
I grew up in Colorado Springs. Garden of the Gods was always in my backyard. If you have the time you should go up to top of Pike's Peak either by train or drive. You would love it.
@@LeggLife Leaving Calif, housing too high. Colorado is beautiful and things are easier too. Did u know no smog or emissions needs to b done and no tests to get drivers license with valid out of state license
I haven’t been to Garden of the Gods since 1983. My great aunt and uncle lived in Colorado Springs and could see Pikes Peak out of their living room window.
Love Garden of the Gods❤ we are having very unusual hot weather this summer, if you ever want to go to the best place to see a concert then Red Rocks amphitheater is a must! It’s in Morrison, CO. Love your cruise vlogs but am loving seeing my state from your eyes! Thank you! Hope your mom continues to do well sending prayers and love ❤️
So glad you went there. I lived in Colorado Springs when I was in the Army.. my first son was born there in Fort Carson… that was about 28 years ago though.. lol. We left in 1995. We did visit there and I still have a few photos of us under the balancing rock. Still so beautiful! Thanks for sharing!
I am so glad I sent The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and the Horse to Sherri. Truth be told, I didn’t think you would read it and thought Sherri might urge you to do that. It turned out great when you picked it up and read it.
Love love love Garden of the Gods. We stop there every time we visit the parents in CO Springs. My favorite is going early in the morning and seeing all the deer. So beautiful!
I was there 2 years ago and this is such an amazing and awesome place. The scenery, rock formations with the mountains in the background. It was hot the day I went and the place was jammed. I bought stuff at both locations LOL. I wanna go back SO BAD. Only animal I saw a deer that was right up to the walkway, plus a lot of birds.
I loved your commentary. Very good video + info. I plan to visit Colorado Springs next year with my adult kids. We are definitely visiting Garden of the Gods. I cannot wait. 😊 You are very pleasant to listen to. I wish your mama well. 🕊️ Again, good video. 🕊️
I highly recommend Cave of the Winds/The Manitou cliff dwellings. Manitou Springs it self is gorgeous. Also, The Wolf and Wildlife Center is a great visit! The Cheyenne mountain zoo is fun and my number 1 recommended restaurant is Fargo’s Pizza!!
I wonder if Missy would mind if you brought home a pet dinosaur😅. Yes, definitely in the Southwest bring a hat, sunscreen, water, snacks, light weight clothing, lightweight jacket, sunglasses, and let someone know where you are going and when you plan to return whenever you going hiking. Also a good idea to have extra water, small sugar and salt packets in the car incase of dehydration.
Think about seeing Bishop’s Castle in Rye Colorado about an hour South of Pueblo now that’s amazing built by one man just research it definitely worth seeing
Visited Colorado Springs a couple times as a kid. Great memories. Actually lived in Colorado Springs for 3 years from ‘09-‘12 while on assignment from employer. We did as much as we could in 3 years. Love Colorado. Would like to visit Alaska. Praying for mom right now. IJN!
Beautiful video, Adam! We enjoyed visiting the Air Force chapel as well as Garden of the Gods and Pike’s Peak. Very nice town for a family vacation 😊 Prayers for your mom’s healing. 🙏🏼🩷
Love watching you explore my home state. Spent so much time in the Colorado Springs area growing up. If you ever want to explore the NE part of the state or if you are a Hometown Takeover fan, reach out! So glad to see your mom is doing so well.
Never been to GOG...it is beautiful...but the warning sign about rattlesnakes might be my drawback! 😮 Eww I hate snakes of any kind! Thanks for sharing and bringing us along. Keeping your Mom in my prayers. Blessings to you both🙏
Looked absolutely incredible! I have friends that live in Lakewood, Colorado. I wonder if they’ve ever been. I’ll have to ask them. Thanks for taking us along! Hope your mom’s chemo session went well 🤗🙏🏾
Fox Run Park and Palmer Park are great places to visit in Colorado Springs. They do not come close to Garden of the Gods, but they are still worth the drive.
@legglife - remember to give your mom lots of hugs and kisses and tell her that you love her every time you see her and before you leave. Trust me you won't regret it.

I definitely want to make it up Pikes Peak one of these times!
I have been a couple of times... once in 1972 when I was eight and 2014 when I was 50. It is beautiful! ❤
Oooh, how cool that you got to experience the park more than 40 years apart!
We are moving to Pueblo next month, we want to try the slopper!
You definitely need to! In fact, you will need to try it from several different places to see who has the best one
@@LeggLife thanks. maybe we will see you around. we love Lake Pueblo!

I hate snakes too, but fortunately I didn’t see any!
You have to do Manitou Springs! Right by GoG.
Please take your mom to sun water spa in Manitou springs 🙏🏼 Manitou has natural spring water. As you know. It is super healing Properties.
Good to know! I will look into it!

Thank you! Chemo went well :)
You should check out the bathrooms at Bancroft Park in Colorado Springs. Not your typical park bathrooms
Whaaaaaat?! Now I’m intrigued
No way, I live in Alaska also and just got back from there. We also went to pikes peak. It was a welcome relief to the heat.
Pikes peak is on my list for sure!
Were you able to enjoy some Rudy's BBQ while you were visiting Gqrden of the Gods? That place is delicious! 😋
Oooooh, I missed that! I love BBQ, so I need to remember this
Fox Run Park and Palmer Park are great places to visit in Colorado Springs. They do not come close to Garden of the Gods, but they are still worth the drive.

You need to go to Bishops Castle
I really want to!
@legglife - remember to give your mom lots of hugs and kisses and tell her that you love her every time you see her and before you leave. Trust me you won't regret it.
Don’t worry, those things are absolutely happening :)
Human memory is fallible, Adam! I applaud your critical thinking skills lol
Ha! It was so funny when I realized that we had indeed been there 🤦🏻♂️
