Mickey was shopping my in dad's store in CT one day. Out of the blue, Mickey asked my dad to play golf with him. My dad said he couldn't leave his store so he never played golf with Mickey. I wish he had.
I love ALL the Andy Hardy movies. They were so comforting to me for some reason. I wanted to live in that town. I could sit and listen to his stories and memories for hours! Such a humble guy at this time in his life. Such a smart man. RIP Mickey. Thanks for your talents!!
I was 12--14 yrs old. When i was watching Micky. He was so phenomenal and the greatest actor. Judy Garland and Micky were great actors making movies together... He was so 👍 good close. Friends with Judy.
This is truly a conversation for the ages. Part stroll through memory lane, trivia, history lesson all in one. Mickey is gone too soon. Well worth watching.
Mickey has always been funny and so comical. Historical humble man and. I miss those days. Of watching tv.. As a young little girl EVERYTHING was new and inviting you to explore movie attractions .. Movies in the 1960s
Remembering Mickey Rooney born on September 23, 1920. He was an American actor. In a career spanning nine decades, he appeared in more than 300 films and was among the last surviving stars of the silent-film era. - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mickey_Rooney
Mickey had a lot of good points. Children aren't being taught values today, no patriotism, no respect, schools are essentially failing them. He gave a lot of thanks to God and it was thanks to God that made America what it is, but more importantly what it used to be. No, people and actors weren't better in the classic movie days but those days seem almost perfect compared to today and I say that as a black woman, navy vet, God fearing Christian. We've improved so many things but computers have taken this world into murky waters and it looks like we're drowning.
*I'm about an hour into this interview, but Rooney has not yet mentioned a wonderful movie in which he co-starred with Dick Van Dyke: "The Comic." Apparently, the critics (and maybe even the public) didn't like it much--but it's one of my favorites.*
I had the experience of working with Mr Rooney on a student film n the 90’s! “The first of May”. I donated my time and equipment and beloved the man and Charles Nelson Reilly as I believe they only accepted a small amount for their time. Charles mostly Vodka and Mickey his exposes ! He and I had one memorable interaction ! H was somewhat overwhelmed by those hounding him for autographs and in exasperation he looked at m not fully aware I believe of who I was. Asking curtly “I suppose you want an autograph ad well??!! To which I responded “only if it’s on a fucking check” not which he and Charles both broke out laughing so hard that he told me later that he peed a little bit. It broke the tension enough that we were able to escape the crowd and retreated to our base camp where I had two home grills working and was cooking at my expense burgers dogs and steaks for the cast and student crew. It was a dirt lot with Valencia trucks and a couple of trailers for talent that was it for the production!! I remember that as one of my cherished memories in the film industry and a proud moment for having known them briefly!!!
There will never be good hollywood like that again I am so jealous of the people who lived it like Tyrone Power Mickey Rooney Joan Crawford Jean Harlow Clark Gable Bette Davis Douglas Fairbanks Jr Judy Gardlen John Gilbert Marion Davies Fredric March Gary Cooper Charlie Chaplin. Deanna Durban Marlene Dietrich Cary Grant Lana Turner Greta Garbo Clara Bow Maurice Chervalier Ramon Novarro Rudolph Valentino Norman Kerry Joan Blondell James Cagney Spencer Tracy Jackie Cooper Claudette Colbert James Stewart. Barbara Stanwyck Mary Astor Myrna Loy William Powell Ralph Bellamy Kay Francis Humphrey Bogart Frank McHugh Ann Harding Robert Montgomery Linda Darnell Carole Lombard Shirley Temple James Dunn Gene Tierney Peter Lorre Constance Bennett Norma Shearer and John and Lionel Barrymore.
very painful to look at and and hear him. he was great, once upon a time. he lives uncomfortably in the past, nothing in the present works for him. i think he "tends" to over-exaggerate in his recollections. his then wife Jan and he separated 2 years before he died. he must have been a lot to handle.
Bobbie Hall it’s his last wife who abused him along with her family. She controlled him and insisted on sitting in on all his interviews and tried to get in on the limelight. Her name is on Micky Rooney’s Star in Hollywood. There’s an interview where she tried to control his interview and kicked him under the table and acted innocent. The title of the video is, “ The Elderly Abuse of Mickey Rooney.” It’s ugly & pathetic!
I met Mickey Rooney back in
1978. His was one of the nicest
celebrities I have ever met.
R.I.P. Mickey
A interview that everyone should watch. Not just for the entertainment world. What a historical day to spend 2 hours with Mickey Roonie!

I hope Mickey Rooneys wife recorded his stories because his memories are perfect.

His abuser.
Well why didn't anyone ever intervene? Elderly abuse was criminal back then.
@@sharonblevins3281 his daughters tried but there were roadblocks from that wicked women...look at mickeys body language toward her....
This could be true, but Disneys wife is said to have come up with the name Mickey. It’s all myth now.
He was married eight times...😵
