- Found this bad boy in a junk lot off eBay. Really glad I could save this gorgeous dial, just wish it wasn't an integrated bracelet, haha. I've literally never even seen this movement before, so please excuse the mistakes and slow assembly, haha.

Lucky Family😂
I love your energy!!! And yes it will run for longer than me, haha. Cleaning the electronics was spray from electrowash, used on sensitive electronics. I didn't physically touch the coils. I've learn that lesson years ago, haha.
This helped me figure out my dad's Seiko 0903-8089 watch movement and case from 1976. Now I am in the process of cleaning and restoring it. Thank you for taking the time to document this watch movement.
That's awesome! That's why I'm uploading these video's. So great to hear they're helping someone!
I've never worked on a quartz watch. Watching you is getting me nearer. Thank you.
Awesome! This one is an easier quartz, almost all metal parts and honestly, not many parts in total.
nice work! It was helpful to see you go through this. I loved to see how you explore and discover what pieces could be taken off next.
@@j.sherwoodowl4826 thank you.
@@ddaavvee thanks again for this. I referenced it often and was able to bring my 0903 back to life with a rebuild.
@j.sherwoodowl4826 Awesome! Glad to be helpful.
Old 70s quality watch, built to last, i have a few of them 4004s now and they keep time pretty well.
I agree! This one has been doing very well, Im not sure how or if they can be regulated, but this one hasn't needed it.
I purchased this exact movement, and while visually it looks pristine, it's not working with a fresh battery. Do you have a gut feel of what it might be? By the way, thank you so much for the amazing video, it's much appreciated.
From my experience, these older quartz have two common issues. 1)there's dirt/dust binding it up. 2)it's got some corrosion. Not saying these are the only two issue, just the most common I see.
Thank you very much for your help.
It’s very possible that the mechanism needs to be replaced. Same thing happened with a Seiko tank I had from 1991. It cost 80 euros to have it replaced. Best of luck with your watch.
For me, the two major issues are debris in the little stator motor and/or corrosion
@ddaavvee size of battery?
