Stock 2016 Hellcat Charger run the Mickey Thompson ET Street S/S. Took my previous best quarter mile time from 11.13 on Nitto NT05Rs to 10.87.
Should have reviewed the 555r2. It hooks better than the NT05r.
I’ve used every tire and I mean every. Trust me for a street car the r888r all day. It hooks , handles like a race tire, good braking ,good in wet, and can go 200 mph . For a super or sports car where you want to do everything r888r all day. If you have a heavy truck and car that just does drag and go straight nittio nt05r it Mickey pro street but don’t get stuck in the rain with the mickeys lol . The Toyos are louder but if you have a good exhaust and headers you won’t hear them lol

Nitto 555R’s Drag Radial for the street is king daddy for hooking, handling, wear and rain.
Gap Time not better than r888r. For a heavy car the nittios are cool. All super car and sports car guys viper , vettes , 720s , amg gtr, gt3 rs etc will tell you the r888r is the best for hooking , handling , and wet for a street super car
I drove my old car once in the rain and it was washing out if i tried going over 45mph and i had a 50 mile drive home.
That Mickey icky sticky for the win. Waiting for the hellcat to be back up and running.

This is awesome. I have always been into cars and just your average gearhead. I just recently bought my 1st street car finally. Kids are all grown etc.. now it's daddy's turn. Anyways I bought a 5th gen Camaro and have been trying to find a good all around year round performance tire. In my area we see little to no snow so that's not a big issue but she is and will stay my daily driver. Keep it up please and thank you!

Great info as I’m looking to get some new strip tires and was considering the nt05’s as a track tire only!
Longer the burn out or drifting that has clouds of smoke expect less than 5K mileage before next purchase or less than 10 road track days as tires and brakes are the first things that need replacing.

Toyos are not for burnouts unless you like buying tires every month. Don’t need one to be honest as long as the ambient temps are good. You never feel like you could lose control with them. They’re awesome but do not last more than a summer if you have serious HP. But they’re my fav for sure

Think you made the right call with the toyos. You can door so much more with them. Ive seen guys making 700 wheel and they do a first gear pull and it hooked up. Unbelievable. I have an 06 Z making 527 and if I get a little heat in them I can put it to the floor in first gear doing a 25 roll and it doesnt slip at all. And I can take turns.

I have to ask. The climate rate or write up for the R888R is said to not drive or store tire in low temperatures. Have you looked into that ?
Also the Mickey is in my search and information better than the Nitto for the track on the Hellcat. Great video and keep bringing the information and Tech.

weird, i've seen head to head 888r vs nt05r launching on street, not track, and the toyo hooked better. don't understand different people having different results in same brand comparison. even seen 888r hook better than et streets ss, which was even more surprising.

If you think the NT05Rs wear out fast (which I was more than happy with how long they last), wait till you see how fast the ET street r’s wear out. I used both and my NT05Rs lasted a lot longer and seemed to perform good throughout the entire life of the tire as opposed to the MT which fell off a cliff before they were even close to being done. Can’t wait to hit the streets with you soon. 👍🏼

Drag radials arent all weather tires and driving in rain or snow your asking for bad things to happen. I had Nitto 555r's on my old scat pack and was in the rain only once and it kept trying to come around on me doing only 45mph in a light rain.
I dont have any idea what your paying to get your engine replaced but SteveWhite Motors sells stroked Hellcat shortblocks with good parts for less than 6k
