- This movie actually was rather enjoyable for me as a kid. I loved the original series as a kid and this manages to give SOMETHING resembling a Thunderbirds reboot. We've got all 5 machines plus Fab 1, their base is still secret and is still an island, Jeff Tracy still has 5 sons along with Brains, Lady Penelope and Parker, the villain is still The Hood and not a villain you'd find in Power Rangers, the Thunderbirds launches are quite accurate to the originals and about the whole "the kids have gotten save the day instead of the adults" thing, I'm/was okay with it. The people who picked up this movie wouldn't mostly consist of adults, it would mostly consist of kids who think that Thunderbirds is awesome. Ya know, LIKE I WAS!
So, yeah, I liked this movie and I still kinda do to this day.

I like how Virgil and Gordon Tracy have more lines in the DVD menu then they do in the film.
Fanfics give them way more development. One of the top reasons why I’ve given this film a lot more appreciation then I have in recent years.

macdrown Just to name a few: Demons in Dreams by Boann (this one is truly epic and heavily acts as a sequel to the movie; highly recommend!)
Consequences by Spense (some wonderful family moments between the characters, especially Alan and Jeff which develops there relationship after the movie further. However, the threat can be a bit lack lacklustre in places)
Family Ties by N’Kala (I adore this one. It talks more in depth about Jeff’s wife, Lucille’s past and there family secret - it’s not “that” big a reveal - but some fantastic moments throughout! The ideas are there own btw).
Always the Hero by Shadowfox8 (this story sits a few years after the movie and doesn’t involve the Hood, but see’s Alan waking up to a fire at his school. One of my personal favourites!)
Fires of Adversity by N’Kala (warning though; this one may have sensitive content. However, it’s throughly enjoyable and it’s exciting to see more within Alan’s school, again some lovely family moments).
Little Boy Lost by Fanofeverything101 (Another warning: This one’s VERY dark and is nothing like the normal family friendly style were used to. However, it’s interesting to see how the Hood would play out his revenge on the Tracy family after the events of the movie. All the characters are written extremely well. A sequel is currently being written by the author as we speak. Highly recommend it if you want something a bit darker).
INVISIBLE by Spense this is a prequel to the movie set a few years before just when Alan’s grandmother Ruth passes away. Alan is eleven here and the whole story focuses around “those” family moments that we couldn’t never really see within the film).
I suggest taking a look around at different authors as well as other stories these guys have done. Lots of them are brilliant - trust me! The most annoying thing that seems to be common throughout the Thunderbirds fan fic community though is the unfinished stories, that have so much potential - with all of them being really epic, but go no where which is SUPER annoying.

You what I'd rather they did with the DVD Menus? Have a Screen to select which Thunderbird Craft you want, and have the Menus be based around the Thunderbird you choose.

Starting from thunderbird 1 and working up to thunderbird 5, on thunderbird 3 I check out the bonus and it has fab 1, listening to the launch and the facts,
Lucky You! As I live in "The 'States', I got the 'lackluster' U.S. dvd release. So we didn't get the 'snazzy' interactive menu.

I wish they showed a shot of Thunderbird 5 being fixed during the credits.
It feels so wrong, yet it is so funny. Cry😂😭
Maybe they were planning on stating what happened with it in the sequel

Even though I don't like this movie, I will admit it has probably one of the coolest DVD menus ever.
Does every version of the dvd and blu ray have these features if not which dvd is it on plz?
Since your making an AU Of TTTE Stories, and you were Okay with This Movie, why not write a Pitch of a Thunderbirds 2004 Sequel
What *'ruined'* Thunderbirds (2004), was the decision to approach making it like a *cartoon!*
They really should've left the kids out of it! Everyone knew that Alan was the 'youngest', of the five Tracy Brothers. But to actually *turn Alan, & Tyntyn, into children! Seriously, what the hell was the so-creative writing team, thinking?
As a special side note; While the 'original' TB2 has ALWAYS been my FAVORITE I.R. Vehicle, with TB4, a very close second! While I don't think much of the apparatus that's used to get the new ship 'airborne' (TB2's 'classic' roll-out, and launch, just CAN'T be 'dismissed'!) I can definitely give the 'remade' TB2, a very enthusiastic, BRAVO!
I think what a lot of people don’t know about this movie is that it was inspired by the original Thunderbirds and it wouldn’t be the same as the puppet version. As a longtime Thunderbird fan, I actually enjoyed this film, I mean I was a bit mad how the brothers didn’t get a fair share of screen time but oh well! But you’ve gotta say that Busted was such a good song!!
It’s more of a Spy Kids film.

@@abiii591 well I am a huge Gerry anderson fan loved the 60s Thunderbirds tv show but would disagree with you the movie wasn't like the tv show in my opinion the Thunderbirds themselves look like poor cgi versions of the classic miniature versions📼
And possibly if they didn't decide to blow Thunderbird 5 to smithereens and then leave it in its damaged state, that's the only thing I don't like about this movie.

That's because, in this movie, *they turned 'Alan', (& 'Tyntyn') into actual children!*
Someone on the team remembered that, "Thunderbirds" was going to be a *Summer Kids movie!* And then, someone else, in the 'brain-trust', said *well, shouldn't we put, you know, actual CHILDREN in prominent roles in the movie? To to get the kids to, like you know, IDENTIFY with the movie that was 'targeted' to them?*
I don't really like this menu because the options are in random simulators.
I remember seeing a teaser trailer on the HULK DVD of TB2 landing in, IIRC, London.
Yeah, I like this movie too. I found it on clearance at my local mall (which still had a video store at that point), and I went for it to see how bad it supposedly was. I was shocked to find that it was pretty damn awesome! All the negative reviews are mainly from the hardcore fans, though Gerry himself said it was a pile of crap and Team America: World Police was closer in spirit to the original than this movie was. Sylvia, on the other hand, loved it. And I do too- it's slick, exciting, fast-paced and bright. I should note here in the US, we got a far more stylized menu, not involving TB simulators.
I don't like it when it's just English audio & subtitles because I think there should have been French, German, Italian, Spanish & Portuguese.
I hope that Thunderbirds are go makes more films a lot of people are forgetting that Thunderbirds is a film as well as a tv show and they realist Thunderbirds are go the puppet version and Thunderbird6 and life action Thunderbirds fingers cross for 2015 Thunderbirds are go make a film
the original 60s tv show was better however the 60s movies based on the Thunderbirds tv show were great though the 2015 remake was good 📼

The menu was a huge pain in the backside as you couldnt skip the boring intro telling you what to do and it took almost 2 minutes to get through that. If your gonna watch it dont watch it on the DVD your better off using XBMC or whatever other streaming site.
Please can you do more menu walkthrough videos?
Too bad the film was a bomb I thought it had potential for a sequel what do you think?

Loved the dvd menu ^^
As a kid it was my favorite movie. I was always an airplanes-fan since I was 5. I even wanted to be a pilot, and a little bit later an astronaut too (I even wanted to go to the Moon one day...). And when I've seen this movie (when I was about 9-10), it become my favorite... (and I still kinda like it to this day too)
This movie would stay close to the original television series unlike The Smurfs (2011) and Inspector Gadget (1999).
