we just got a CX3 2017 FWD for a daily 120 miles commute.
CX5 is obviously bigger but the CX3 is the right size between CX5 and Mazda 3 for commuting and city drive with good gas mileage and nice compactness, but if you look for cargo space, the CX5.
we also have a Unlimited Wrangler that solves the need for cargo and space.

Great comparison and reviews. Well done. I am decided on the 3 because there will never be anyone in the back seat (and probably the passenger seat) and the storage space is fine for one person to me. I can just but a small pillow behind me for lumbar support and save $3, 000.00. Hey, are you talking USD or CAD?
I have the CX-5 and I'm really enjoying it. I think the CX-3 looks fantastic, but the interior layout of the CX-5 is a lot better, especially in regards to the cup holders. On the CX-5, the cup holders are easily accessible, while on the CX-3, you need to move the arm rest out of the way in order to reach the cup holders. Mazda really has a nice line up though with all their vehicles.
Agreed. The cup holder situation is no bueno on the CX-3. I own one and so far it’s my only dislike.

that cx3 needs! the E brake button, it will save so much space on a already cramp space. also it wouldn't hurt to make a 2 inches longer on the rear seats. The cx5 is a great car for singles, couples, small 4 members family with the kids being in the age where they don't need to be in rear car seats and are not teens yet and you don't need to carry a stroller any more. if kids are on the way the cx5 is the way to go. rigth now I have a 2 year old daughter and planning on having one more so in 6 month I'll be buying a crossover (currently own a 2 door jeep, cramp and we suffer for almost 2 years) thanks for the review Eric, it's just that I would like the lower models to be teste and only front wheel drive. I'm from San Diego so we never have snow (only in the mountains).

Automatic transmissions, 2wd, & awd. What are the prices, is it better to drive used or new, and how much mileages are best if buy used ones?! I seen many leadership selling used and new ones w/ same prices. It's hard to decide the better one. Which brands are best for safety and extended guarantee of the vehicles?!

@@everymandriver I think for me it’s a choice between compact and room. I’m in love with the CX-3 style inside and out but the functionality of the CX-5 plus roominess is more practical. Still a good looking unit as well.

Your intro needs to be edited. You say the 2016 CX5 and the 2016 CX3 both have a 2.0lt 4 cylinder. Well the 2016 CX5 has a 2.5 ltr 4 cylinder with 185 hrs power. Other wise great video.

Possibly the most pointless car review video out there.
Why compare 2 cars from different segments without being agnostic? They're are obviously different in size so telling viewers that the CX5 has more leg room and a wider centre console than a CX3 is ...well...obvious!
What next? A comparison video between the a BMW 3 series and a BMW 7 series where it's "Advantage 7 series" because the bigger car is bigger?
As for the position of the CX5 arm rest being lower, that would depend on the height of the seat as the armrest is fixed.
Nothing is demonstrated to show how the cars perform on the road (acceleration, handling, AWD capabilities etc), and the only bit where we see the car moving, you provide a list of features than could've been given whilst static.
So in summary, if you want the bigger car, buy the bigger car, and if you want the cheaper car, buy the cheaper car, and if you need AWD capabilities then just toss a coin.
I can not BELIEVE the CX-3 is smaller than the CX-5.. next you’re going to tell me water is wet.
Also... you don’t need to say “I like”statements. I want a comparison, not a personally opinion.
Where is the acceleration, the handling, the DRIVING?... disappointed.
