Many raptor species are protected and it's really rare to see their feathers for sale so "someone" figured they could sell those beautuful tail feathers for easy money. Probably a meth user. Crimes against other living things mean nothing to them.
I’m really happy that this Hawk is back in the wild flying free! Take care sweetie and have a great life! Thank you Martin and Susan for taking care of her and all of the wildlife in your care!
I still can't believe someone would do that to a beautiful, living thing like that! Was great to see the progress over time. I bet you're missing this hawk, he was a resident a long time! Glad Susan got to do a release! Thanks for the great video!
I was so upset and mad when you took her in and what a cruel thing had been done to her, but to see her now, and Susan releasing her just filled my heart with joy. Also I am enjoying reading your book. Thank you for all you do.
We have a lot of Red Tailed Hawks here in Oklahoma, they are absolutely beautiful creatures! I'm glad this one is okay now and back in the open air where she belongs. Thank you for saving her :)
I don't know if Susan shed a tear or tears but I sure do on all releases I see you perform. It's beautiful seeing these precious creatures go back to the wild and freedom. Thank you Martin and Susan.
🙏Not only are you healing the beautiful red tail hawks and the other animals you save, but when they are released back to where they belong there's a feeling of release humanity feels when you do so. What you and Susan do is a tremendous gift of healing to our most important parents...Mother Earth and the Sky Father. Thank you...thank you...thank you!❤🙏
I cried my eyes out when you first received him in November 😭 I now am smiling so hard my cheeks hurt, & crying tears of joy!!! Ty from the bottom of my heart for taking care of him and all the rest of the wild injured eagles 🥰 may you soar high safe & free with a constant full crop sweetheart.
I wish people leave animals alone and protect them, not hurting them. Thank you for saving this beautiful bird. I just saw 6 hawks over my house. They were very talkative and sometimes they dive to catch something. I try to be quiet and be respectful but it's not enough.
Great to see the bird in good shape again, it must be quite a change for her to have been away from the wild for so long and then have to adapt again to the wild, lovely to see her flying free.
So wonderful to see this hawk released after it's horrible ordeal. If there is any saving grace to this, it's that it has hopefully learned more to try and stay away from humans even more.
Hi again MARTIN &SUSAN A second chance for life made possible because of tender care and love. Hopefully because of that the cruelty and greed of humankind has been left behind as the winds of the sky's freedom will blow away the pain being left for dead is no more. A joyful and beautiful release with Susan this time!
This is one of the better clips because it lasted almost a year. Wow, 9 month stay to grow her feathers back. She could've learnt English in the meantime. Pretty evil people actually pulling feathers out. Imagine the effort one must've expended to pull 'em out? Ugh. I couldn't imagine doing that to even a sparrow. Luckily there aren't too many who can. At the release location, I think that hawk knew she was about to get on with her life, no?
The rehab care takes a great deal of effort; SEFU has a philosophy of every creature is important...wow. A release is a very special time for all those up and down the line that are involved. But I'm sure the bird/raptor enjoys the release the most. You folks are blessed.
I’ve been following the process since you took this eagle in with it’s poor state of stolen feathers :( and finally all feathers are fully grown with your love and care... such a good sight to see the eagle back in flight ♥️
Thanks again Martin for all you do for the Birds of Prey. It’s sad that there still people out there that don’t care about Wildlife. God Bless and Take Care. Greg of Ohio
Thanks Martin and Susan! Already while reading the title, I knew which bird was returned to wilderness.I am surely not the only one watching from Germany but one of the most thankful.
Red tailed Hawk said , “let me go already!”. I learn so much from you. It hurt hearing some dumb human would do what they did. Imagine if she had not been handed over to you folks! 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽👍🏽👍🏽🙏🏽❤️
I live next to the Colorado national Monument. five years ago I was blowing out some dead leaves when a huge red bird buzzed me over and over again. we had a new Visitor in the large tree that was in our yard. we named the Red Tailed Hawk Archibald. we would make certian he had a water source and somtimes small rabbits for him to catch. he was a very spoiled bird. I truly Miss Archibald. I hope he is somewhere safe
Martin I had been watching the progress info that you've made available for viewing these past months on the red tail hawk and I am so glad that the hawk healed .. It is very obvious that you and Susan felt a great joy in seeing this beautiful bird fly off.. Fly free and soar high red tail hawk..Stay well guys..
Thank you both for giving this gorgeous hawk another chance at life , as well as all the others that you have rehabbed. All the animals brought to you are so very lucky to have you take such wonderful care of them. And Susan, I wish I was in your place. To be able to release this magnificent creature back to the wild is an amazing experience. You are one lucky gal 😊!
I remember when he first came in. Was so sad to hear about his feathers, just horrible. Does that happen a lot on your rescues? Happy to see he's finally flying free after all these months of care. How's the white belly bald eagle doing? Thank you guys for all your hard work & dedication to wildlife❤🦅
This is so wonderful to see - that you are doing this great work and helping these very important Raptors to regain their vibrancy and their life in the wild!
How terribly sad that people can be so heartless and do something so horribly cruel to another living being... It's beautiful that he recovered fully AND to see Susan release this beautiful bird!
Solo Coool!! Thank you for rehabilitating this beautiful creature! Thank you for the expertise and love in your hearts for these majestic birds!!!💖💕💜💞💖
Horrible, the cruel person who stole and carelessly broke the feathers of this hawk - probably for profit -and left the bird helplessly grounded to starve. Selling red-tailed hawk feathers is illegal, for very good reason. Thank you for saving this beautiful animal. Red-tailed hawks have always been my favorite bird, couldn’t tell you exactly why. It lifts my spirit to see one soaring overhead. Their cry is wonderful. People should know that the thrilling, soaring cry you hear as an eagle flies by in movies and TV ads is actually a recording of a red-tailed hawk. It’s funny as well as a back-handed tribute to my favorite bird. “There is nothing in the world that is more healing than to return one of these beautiful birds to the wild.” Oh, yes. It was a thrill even to watch in this video. The explanation of imping issues was enlightening. Again, thank you.
Thank you so much for sharing this hawk's journey from the evil that was imposed on him to the freedom of souring into the sky healthy and ready to live his life again. We couldn't have asked for a better ending. Thank you and Susan for all you do.
" I am the Eagle; I live in high places; in rocky cathedrals that reach to the Sky. I am the Hawk and there's blood on my feathers; the sun is still burning; they soon will be dry. All those who See Me and all who believe in Me , carry the Freedom I feel when I Fly.. Come dance with the West Wind and sail o'er the mountain tops, down to the canyon and up the sky. Reach for the Heavens and hope for the Future, be all that you can be , ALL that You Are." John Denver. Fly in Joy, Red Beauty!!!!!!- May thanks to you, Martin and Susan and all who support SWFU
Wow! That was spectacular and even made my heart flutter. What an exhilarating feeling to see the bird catch lift and then off to its second chance. It doesn't get much better than that. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you guys so much! You are both earth angels for the raptors you help! I know if they could thank you they would and who knows in the hereafter they may just be able to do so themselves.... I get a bit emotional seeing all the beautiful life changing things you both do. Thank you if I could donate I most certainly would; I always like and have been subscribed since the first video I saw years ago ( I know that isn’t very much but it is all I can do at this time) if I ever win the lottery I will send you guys a check as big as a Golden Eagle wing span; that would be so wonderful to give to you guys!
It just does my heart so much good when you all release these magnificent birds back to the wild. I think I get a emotional as if I were there. Thank you for always sharing!
The EDUCATION on the growth of feathers! So educational and interesting! Thanks for your rehabilitation of this hawk, and your fascinating way to teach us all!

I am enjoying your videos every day. I really love what you do for all the birds and other critters! Tonight watching Christmas in august. Love it. Makes me smile. Think I’ll do some amazon prime. Love you both!
You are fascinating the way some others compulsively want to do surgery and glue and the physics of how feathers work the biology the aerodynamics and having to explain because people cant understand the obvious that one can't put the feather of one type of bird on the wing of another type of bird. This video was fascinating. Thank goodness you fix the cruelties of other people.

Both of you did an excellent job. The birds love you to death and you will be rewarded from Universe. Bless you.
Just a question, maybe an ignorant one.
Wouldnt be a faster way to recovery if you plucked the broken wing feathers so they could grow new faster, such as the tail ones did? I ask this because I believe you would be the most competent person to do it without injuring the birds wing.
Best regards and keep doing what you do and I'll keep admiring you both from here!
Makes me sick
Thank you for keeping the red tailed hawk and letting it regrow it's tail feathers. Wonderful!
Birds molt naturally annually to replace damaged or missing feathers.
People who do these types of things to animals DO NOT deserve to breathe free air.
Shouldn't be breathing at all imo...
AGREED! Anyone who harms a living, sentient being is pure trash. Thank goodness for people like Martin & Susan who care for these precious critters.
These individuals who harm poor defenseless creatures should be prosecuted to the fullest extent..and fined heavily.
Many raptor species are protected and it's really rare to see their feathers for sale so "someone" figured they could sell those beautuful tail feathers for easy money. Probably a meth user. Crimes against other living things mean nothing to them.
They should go to California or NY and wear a facemask for the rest of their lives.
That breaks my heart. That poor feathered baby.
You are their guardian angel. ❤️
I’m really happy that this Hawk is back in the wild flying free! Take care sweetie and have a great life! Thank you Martin and Susan for taking care of her and all of the wildlife in your care!

Watching you rescue this hawk that was viciously mutilated helps to restore what little faith in humanity remains. Life affirming. Thank you!!
Someone did that to all the peacocks at the Everglades airboat rides off highway 27 in Broward in the Everglades. Bastards!
I wish people leave animals alone and protect them, not hurting them. Thank you for saving this beautiful bird. I just saw 6 hawks over my house. They were very talkative and sometimes they dive to catch something. I try to be quiet and be respectful but it's not enough.
