Done! I also like the most natural look which is with no lights at all. I wouldn't stop there. I would even take the lens off for even more natural look.
Hey, I actually got one of these gvm rgb led kits on ebay (the 3 light version with a siiick hardcase carrying case) for like $250. One of my most favorite purchases lol
That ain't cheap, lol. When I started, all I had was natural light and ceiling light. A true cheap light is a softbox that you can get for around $60 online.
There are two old short films on my channel made entirely with a couple of those junky 24" Amazon softboxes for lighting. Even today, knowing so much more about cinematography and owning much better lights, I still like the results I got back then! If anything, my own skill level held those films back more than the lights did. Go take a look at those if you're feeling unmotivated by a lack of expensive lights at your disposal. I'm not saying you can't do more with better lights, but with basic soft keying and back lighting, you can make films that actually look /nice/ instead of unlit and amateurish.
One key lesson i've got from your videos is resourcefulness. Reflective tape + white foam board changed the game for me! Still tho, those lights are pretty cool, so let's see i win anything.
wow lighting has changed a lot in the past 5 years. I remember spending $500 on an led kit in 2015, they were 5x thicker than that and hard to travel with, only daylight balanced which also had a green tint and terribly inaccurate. I dont think rgb lights even existed.
Done! Also great tip on those bladder weights. I have a travel tripod and I need to weight it down on the hook, instead of carrying something additional to fill I realized I can just use my water bladder I'm likely traveling already, in a pinch... (if I'm hiking I have another bag or so for additional water usages as well). So now my water bladders are for drinking, shower, and weighing down my travel tripod... if I win I will make a budget hike/bike/back packing friendly video.
Okay straight up, I love this idea for the give-away... people who actually like content creation will obviously like your videos, you guys get subscribers who are actually interested in watching videos (retention remains high, thus bringing the algorithm to your side) and it's fun doing it cause it just seems illegal but it's probably not. . . also, done!
DONE! Wish we saw more giveaways like yours. Knew this channel was going to be forever on my notifications feed after you Sharpie'd your URSA 12K in the bushes. Cheers!
DONE! It’s funny you mention the sandbags because I just had a photoshoot and forgot one of my sandbags and a light stand kept falling over...thankfully we were on soft grass.
Done. I agree with Seth's comment on the Orca bags. I was just trying to figure out how to travel with sandbags, and those make way more sense. Great as always!
Let’s be honest, the best situation here is that Peter comes to this video to see what all the fuss is about and ends up subscribing just so he can unsubscribe. Done.
Done. Can't wait until PM goes whatsup? Lights travels faster than sound. That’s why some people appear bright until you hear them speak. I just lost my biggesr clients due to covid. I need them lights to look professional.
Love the message of this video! Cheap light + shower curtain is all you need to get started. Great that ELM is also speaking to those just getting started too!
Done!! Ha I love this idea. I think it’s pretty funny sending people over to someone else’s channel to help them out. I legit thought you partnered with Peter for the giveaway. This is hilarious.
Done. I'm done with you! Done with your big corporate youtube channel bullying small loving filmmaking channels like Peter who actually put in the hard work to make every single frame count. (Jokes aside thank you for bringing a channel that is dedicated to lighting. Such an underrated part of creating video)
Done! Thrice! To me this giveaway is the second greatest thing(after Mandalorian Finale) happened to save 2020 from being a complete disastrous year. But maybe it seems that way because I don't have enough lights.
OK. I dropped my comment on Peter's video. I'm always looking to upgrade practical gear. This light set would be a great upgrade from my under $200 light kit.
And done all the way from little Belgium! :-D I'm actually in the market for an extra light or 2.. especially RGB. I have a little pocket RGB light from Phottix but it lacks some in power..
Oh my God. If I could win this I’d make you sooo proud. I have a very good project coming up but with no budget to get some light. 🙏 your videos are awesome bro
Done. I actually got a ton of NPF Batteries only to find out the monitor I ordered takes LP-E6s :/ These would be my favorite place to put my new NPFs :)
DONE! I couldn't use the same font as you, but I did at least use all caps and ended it with an exclamation point. Speaking of point, this video was on point! Especially those water bags. Holy weight savings when traveling Batman! "Alex, what are you doing?" ... "Shipping Hangs4Fun, this light kit he won, and then watching some more of his solo wilderness hammocking videos"" ... "As you were fine sir, ad you were..."
Comment done on Peter McKinnon's video. Also I actually liked the bare panel setup the best. But I know from experience it's much more pleasant for the subject to sit in front of a really soft light.
So today is not a negative comment like you always love lol.. But more on a technical side.. how far is the gray wall from the chair? Really loved look #3 and again thank you for showing that it’s not the gear is how you use it! Today POSITIVE VIBES!
DONE! I have hope, but only just enough to make me participate. Honestly though, I just want to be called a hot boi by Alex, so can we make that happen??
Not gonna lie, nice to have real cinematographers teaching rather than how to take cool instagram photos, perks to the people who teach you how to make money with our skills rather than how to gain more followers.
And here I thought you were giving away Peter McKinnon... guess I misinterpreted that title.
The actual Peter McKinnon giveaway is being saved for the Epic Light Media Christmas Special.
Yeah, I was also lookin forward to kidnapping and the UPS shipping... :/
I don't have enough coffee on hand...he'd escape on day one to more caffeinated pastures.
Done! I also like the most natural look which is with no lights at all. I wouldn't stop there. I would even take the lens off for even more natural look.
Done! Impact made. Although I'll be honest, the water bags had me almost more excited than the lights. Great video!
Same. I’m tired of lugging 100kg of sandbags with me for shoots. Great shout for water sandbags
Great idea. Until there is......a leak! Pom Pom Poooooooom! Water everywhere near expensive electronics :-)
@@aliruane that's 100% what i was thinking.
Done!
sameee 🤪😍😂
"Hot Boi" + "You're watching the Disney channel!" make this my favorite video from you yet. Excellent stuff. And yes, you are The Hot Boi™.
Done.
I belong to the" I have never won any give away contest" catagory
Let's try one more .
Me too xD
Same! it's like they're all fake... somehow.... :/
Done.
This actually one of the best channels on UA-cam, not even kidding. There is no joke here. What!? I'm serious.
Hey, I actually got one of these gvm rgb led kits on ebay (the 3 light version with a siiick hardcase carrying case) for like $250. One of my most favorite purchases lol

When your explaining the light modifiers, your narration put me in mind of Brooks Moore! (He narrated, How Its Made)
Great solid content tho! 🔥
Dude I thought the same thing!!
That ain't cheap, lol. When I started, all I had was natural light and ceiling light. A true cheap light is a softbox that you can get for around $60 online.
Haha i have one such! Works great for me
I feel you. I’m rockin two $30 Neewer lights with wax paper in front of them
@@EmceeGraffiti Haha same here Butter paper works the best for diffusion, btw do check my channel out, you might like some content

2 thumbs down from PotatoJet and Peter Mckinnon. HAHAHA
Thanks for the breakdown! I have a few GVM lights and love them!
I'm a simple man.
I see Peter Mckinnon, I click.
Edir:- Also, done!
One key lesson i've got from your videos is resourcefulness.
Reflective tape + white foam board changed the game for me!
Still tho, those lights are pretty cool, so let's see i win anything.
Done.
I thought you were advertising a Peter McKinnon giveaway lol. Now I see that I was wrong...
Curious what your camera settings are...ISO, aperture, shutter speed? It makes a difference when using lower powered lights. Thanks
Rich : cheap light. So not good...
Me : oh! Is it cheap. It looks insane. Pack it
😂😂😂
How correct is the white color? CRI and all that? They look really awesome for the price!
First comment ❤️

What about brightness in places with windows? Ie, a mechanical workshop or inside a house with windows?
Can I use the blue light on the grey wall as blue screen?
If yes, that would be extremely convenience.
How to achieve that absolute blue background? Can you tell the setting?
Done!
That is a gorgeous lens... and those lights you've got...... I also commented on Peter's video.
Okay straight up, I love this idea for the give-away... people who actually like content creation will obviously like your videos, you guys get subscribers who are actually interested in watching videos (retention remains high, thus bringing the algorithm to your side) and it's fun doing it cause it just seems illegal but it's probably not.

also, done!
Done! I wish you used the tube led as the Disney wand! Thank you guys. Waiting for that collab.
These lights are not so bright, how much did you have to crank up the exposure to get that bg color saturation?
Done!! I made sure to protect the channel from any more subscribers. I got you bro!
I love sopporting other creators! just commented and watched his whole video! i might buy a rf 50 1.8 now! 😏
Aaaand ..DONE! Been thinking about RGB lights .. will they replace bi-colors? Maybe.. but power and color accuracy are concerns.
Done. I agree with Seth's comment on the Orca bags. I was just trying to figure out how to travel with sandbags, and those make way more sense. Great as always!
I've learned to love these little lights. They're too flat for my liking but they work brilliantly as fill kickers in larger compositions.
Done!
You all are amazing! Just to make us learn these small things, which make huge differences. Thanks
boom!
btw, how do you measure light intensity? can you convert the LUX value to Lumens?
Hey, commented on Peter’s channel. Loved the video and especially the Sandbags and Bold 3.
done! but for real this channel has changed my life 😍
Done.
I hope you're proud of yourselves. This was my favorite way to enter a giveaway on the internet.
DONE!
I find new gear to buy in all of your videos. Never knew about the ORCA sandbags!
When will you announce the winner?
Maybe tomorrow
@@EpicLightMedia Cool, I guess I can wait until then to win, haha. It will make an awesome early Christmas gift.
What a good kit for the price! Great video guys
Already have my nifty 50mm but great video from Peter.....RGB lights are awesome....DONE!
Great video as usual but I was looking for more information on the GVM light.
Done.
I really live the second way of lighting. The diffuser make the light soft and nice. Wish I could win the lighting bundle.
Done! This is the smartest way to actually give something away, seriously !
The second setup was great 👍🏻
What monitor are you using on top of the URSA?
I love the last look!!! And the second look!!!
Undone! The Orca water bag is such a great idea! I am already carrying 20kg worth gear already and had to leave out shot bags on solo shoots.
Done! I wish these panels had Sides link integration, that would make them a no brainer. I don’t want to use 30apps on one shoot
Done! Hopefully poor lil Petey will get a few subscribers from all this shinanagins. Impact made. I hope I win

Great video about lighting. The waterbags are cool. I've never heard of them before. Done.
How does these work outside?
Done! All 3 looks are impressive! I’m leaning toward look 2.

To me this giveaway is the second greatest thing(after Mandalorian Finale) happened to save 2020 from being a complete disastrous year. But maybe it seems that way because I don't have enough lights.
I like the second shot but it needs fmore shadow on the on side of the face and more highlights on the other, because now is too even
Neewer makes inexpensive lights, kits and modifiers. Thanks for the vid.
Commented. Your channel deserves so much recognition.
That might be my favorite thing I've seen all week.
I have these lights and honestly they’re not bad, I mostly use them for the rgb and lighting effects but they work as decent key lights in a pinch!
Done! Excited to see the results of this. Is this to try and rope some of PMK's subs here? I mean I'm all for it, don't get me wrong...
DONE !!! Love it.... but it won't fit on my kitchen !!
What’s your preferred model of boom arm?
Done!
I have these lights myself and for the price they're really good!
OK. I dropped my comment on Peter's video. I'm always looking to upgrade practical gear. This light set would be a great upgrade from my under $200 light kit.

love the 50 lens from the link. And love those lights (personally like shot 2 the best)
got my fingers crossed though.

Personally I like the 2 setup. Looks more pleasing.
real dust effect looks really good
Gvm why you make this led red colour, is not a good idea. Case should be backpack. Barndoors? Remote control or app?
Done!, lets clamp our way to victory.
Thanks for another great video.
Done.
I actually got a ton of NPF Batteries only to find out the monitor I ordered takes LP-E6s :/

Or at least a Neewer
Or maybe even a Matthews, if we try really really hard

Just one question... if I win, could you send the lights to Germany?
Done! Can't wait to see Peters Reaction

Not gonna lie, nice to have real cinematographers teaching rather than how to take cool instagram photos, perks to the people who teach you how to make money with our skills rather than how to gain more followers.
Done! The second lifting setup with the modifiers is my favorite btw. Good stuff and God bless diffusion
Done. It feels so wierd lol
Edit: Also I just realized, you tricked us into watching your video twice! you naughty youtuber
