Only negombo is badly effected due to ripping off tourists by all businessess. Food drinks and accommodation. It may have originated from old age since we had a lot of families living in rural areas where people had a hard time finding food, and if someone is successful and good with money, they get to eat a lot of food as they want. HI, the fruits is not lycee, it is rambutan, a tropical fruits, you can googled it... the way you ate it was correct, either just put the whole and spit out the seed or just take bit by bit around the seed...either way is fine.
