Keep in mind, this backstory was made originally before some of the tweaks were made when they tightened up the lore and were prepping for Arcane. Back when this was first written, it was just Hextech and Chemtech. Shimmer wasn't a thing until they again started writing for Arcane. The thing about Jayce. He's not so much a complete jerk. Something a lot of folks overlook is how young a lot of the main characters are in Arcane. Jayce was young even by the usual standards of Piltover. And because of that he had no patience for the usual politicking of the other apprentices and professors at the Academy. So it was a combination of his refusal to "play the politics and bureaucracy" game plus actual jealousy from the teachers and professors who weren't as smart or creative as he was while also being younger than they were. So you can see, there are a lot of small changes that were made to better interconnect the characters, expand the narrative and properly flesh out a real 3-dimensional backstory for both Jayce and Viktor that fit properly into the larger worldbuilding needed for Arcane, future animated projects and the MMO.
46:30 you didn't pay attention to that part of the story, you got distracted with Viktor model using his third arm lmao. Go read that part of the story again and you will realize he was saving those people from the slumps incident.
@astravisionstudios yeah but even after the rewind it seemed you thought Viktor provoked that and also drugged them to kidnap them. Maybe reading it again on the page? They became enraged beasts from the chem spill in that incident that had nothing to do with Viktor. Viktor wanted to help them but because they were enraged he had to tranquilize them. The part about him opening their skull was because he was trying to drain them from the chemicals of that accident. But he was limited by the technology he had at the moment
@@astravisionstudios yeah but even after the rewind it seemed that you still thought Viktor provoked the accident which was the cause of those people being enraged with chemicals and dying, and that Viktor drugged them to kidnap them. Viktor heard about the accident, went to help, the victims were enraged due to the chemicals, so he couldn't treat them without sedating them, then the part of him opening their skulls is to drain them from the toxins, but his technology was limited at the time. Maybe try reading the bio on the webpage more calmly without distractions? you will see that League viktor, unlike the arcane version, would never force the augments on others he only helped those who came to him, and unlike arcane, he just gave them techmaturgy augments, like enhanced limbs or breathers, he didn't possesed them in any way lmao. And he didn't even wanted that "cult" that was forming around him. what you said about how sometimes when the media changes, the source material might need to adapt or change aswell. I wish more people would understand that part. People complained about the season being too rushed, but also wanted to see how Viktor invented Blitzcrank inviting a new storyline. While i like this story. Objectively the version in Arcane is more compelling and frankly straight up more interesting. While also concealing the bigger plots for those who were not familiar with Viktor's character.
@@SadSinStory Yeah exactly! I mean, I would have loved to see Blitzcrank, would have loved to see Urgot, and would have loved to see Camille, but at the same time. We couldn't have gotten more without having less for other characters and damaging pacing or story more then people already claim it is. I think another part of it is that people are used to getting so much content that in reality, a lot of these things are still going to come and probably at a better time if people are just patient for the rest of their projects. Technically, Jayce's only wrong doing was making Hex Tech to begin with. Arcane is basically a Grandfather-Paradox if you think about it long enough.
