Welcome to another Fridge Rundown episode! Today I am talking you through the Adventure Kings 45L fridge freezer and whether it is worth buying. Surprisingly, it is probably one of the best 12v fridges on the market right now due to its features and the excellent 5-year warranty you get. Not to mention how affordable this fridge is too! Overall, the best 2 person fridge I reckon! Check out the video for more!💯

Super explanation 🙏👍💯
Thank you 🙂🖐
Bought a 75 litre about a month ago went camping for 5 days and it's a great so far but time will tell
Great I'm glad you like it and hope it lasts a long time🙂💯
🔥🔥
💯💯😜😜
Did you look at the companion transit 45l fridge at all? Good rep. Picked one up for $600 here in NZ
Sure did. It's basically just the price that scored my buy at $400💯🔥
Great review - any idea if it has a battery. So once charged it can run for a while on its own with its reserve or does it always have to be plugged in to run. If it does have a built in battery (whats the battery run time you get on it set as a standard fridge 1-5 degrees?).
No battery mate unfortunately. Brass monkey fridges have them 🙂💯
With the fridge cover .. There is plent of evidence out there now that suggests they actually hamper the efficiency of the fridge from removing the heat .. Even on the good brands like Engle .. .. It appears it maybe the mesh over the Air vents that reduces the airflow .. Im thinking of cutting the mesh part out and leaving the cover on just for fridge protection..
Nice!
Thanks heaps - just came across you page.
Wondering how thick the insulation is on the actual fridge?
Also what table is that? Looks sturdy.
Thanks and cheers mark
Hey Mark!
Thanks mate. It is quite thick tbh. Seals nicely. It is a kings table as well. Had it for years now 🙂💯
Cheers
Dee
@@budget4x4life thank you - just watched one of your others and saw the kings table.
FYI, I purchased the 60lt version before Xmas 2023 and tested the MAX and ECO modes. No difference in power consumption and no change in compressor speed, so I requested a refund as MAX mode was not working. I proved this to the company's tester (a store in Dandenong South) but they refused to refund me or acknowledge the problem. Thankfully I got my bank to organise a refund but will never buy Kings brand again or shop at that store. You might want to put a power meter on the fridge to see if there is an actual difference between the modes.
Tested mine before and Definitely pulls more power on Max Mate. Unfortunately yours were definitely faulty. Kings is an average brand but I would probably buy a Dune 4x4 fridge next with a reputable LG compressor 🙂💯
100%. My take is Kings are false advertising.
As per the manual and the box, they come with a Huyai compressor and not a secop. I was told in the store they come with a German compressor but then found out later when I got it back home.
Incorrect...it comes with a BD35F compressor🙂💯 If you unscrew the front panel you can see the compressor with Secop written on it.
@@budget4x4life That would be strange mate. My user manual and box state the compressor clearly as "Huayi".
@@haythammorsy9909 mmm that's weird. Have a look anyway and see what compressor you have. Maybe call them up and ask but yeah should be secop. In their own video they show it as well. Watch here : ua-cam.com/video/DBR4Gv_8dCk/v-deo.html
Ya, certainly weird. I will check what's behind the panel. I am thinking they may have changed the compressor recently but never mentioned. Will let you know.
Just confirmed mate. It's a Huayi behind the panel in my Stayzcool 60L.
Why don’t you make it in to one flap and join it with Velcro
rather than cut your lid cover, why dont you place some velcro pads over the existing velcro stopping it catching? simple without damaging what you have. cheers Jack
Hey Jack. Wasn't only catching, the way it was designed is a flaw as you have to undo the cover first before you can open it up. Should have been designed with a simple zip or something to make access smoother. All good without it now though 🙌🏼 cheers
Personal preference i suppose ,i have a zip on my cheapy kings fridges and prefer the fold over flaps as you demonstrated. Same as my old waeco. But one thing i and several of my mates have found that the KIngs fridges work well and are great value for money (35 & 60 L) and relatively power efficient
cheers
What's the actual power draw of this fridge when used?
Don't have a measuring tool unfortunately 😬 can maybe try my solar panel regulator...might tell me the draw
What that table your using looks good.
4wdsupacentre😜💯
@@budget4x4life I literally just bought the 45l fridge with cover combo, it's on sale for $400 on eBay with a 5% coupon on top of the sale. And free Post.
@Herosade jeez mate what a bargain😜💯
Not great. Campijf you really need to know the electrical draw. King fridges have about 50-100% more draw per hour then a similar sized Dometic or Engel. Have friends getting into trouble with a 40 l king's fridge draining an entire new 115 ah deep cycle battery in 1 day. Seems to be running off 4 amps per hour when Kinga said it was 1.2-1.5 ah per hour. Strong no to Kings fridges.
Thanks for the info mate. I will not go Kings again if I plan to travel a bit more often. For a weekender and at most a week fridge it seemed to work fine. Unless it's hot then it drains a lot of power! 😬
Every-one talks about how great the 5 year warranty is but no-one, including the sellers is able to tell me what it actually covers.
Body and compressor mate
Why are you replacing the old fridge?
Sold it with the camper🙂💯
@@budget4x4life Didn't know you sold it. I thought after all the work you put in you'd use it for a while.
@@allanpower8041 Yeah I had a good year out of it. Unfortunately trailers aren't for me. They work great but the in between towing around...always going slower on offroad tracks etc just made me a bit frustrated 😄
I checked out at store the quality is poor in video or pics they different
Did you look at the right fridges? This is not the new version that came out recently (they look crap)
Not worth getting a cover if inside a vehicle.
Still is...protects it from getting scratched by other products I reckon🙂
@@budget4x4life that’s why you have a rear drawer setup surrounding the fridge on a slide. So you can slide it out without everything pushed up against it and stack things on top. 💯 Cover not needed
@@gregdogg10 Haha I mean if you have a fridge barrier then sure there's no need then🤣. For those that don't have drawers like me it is a need 💯
