Yes, but engine choice is horible. 1.5 petrol is underpowered. There must be options like min. 2x more power petrol/diesel engines.. Or electric version with 400km range(that whould be best option imho)
I bought a 2017 Honda HR-V EX AWD today. The 1.8L 16 valve engine is not bad. There is a ECON button to turn off the gas efficiency to improve the performance and acceleration. Also there is a D and S shift position at the transmission shifter. The S position can improve the acceleration and transmission performance such as more climbing power. Most review do not mention about the P and S with the ECON button to improve the performance of the HRV.
I personally like the CVT box. I have a jazz with the CVT and I love the car to pieces. The CVT is absolutely perfect if you drive it properly useing the proper modes for the right conditions. I love how smooth and responsive the CVT is.
Yeah, but the NA one can have AWD and a much better engine for that kind of car vs. the standard 1.5 in EU. The 1.6 diesel will not be an option after 2020 as more and more states will ban them in large towns and will make the European owner to pay big taxes every year...Maybe they will bring a turbo petrol one in the future :-)
I really like the car but I think Honda needs to use better materials on this one. Right now it uses Chevy/Ford/Renault like plastics. Considering it cost much more than a Trax/EcoSport/Captur this is a huge minus. In Europe I see the Peugeot 2008 a much better option in this class right now considering the turbo 1.2 110 hp petrol engine, the better automatic transmision, the better materials used, the better acceleration and mpg and the good price vs. the HR-V. The Peugeot is 3.000 euros cheaper here (Romania) than the Honda when you compare similar trims/engines. P.S. I like Honda overall as my father has a 2.4 Accord Executive Navi (that was the top one when Honda was bringing it to Europe), but again, if Honda wants Mazda's/Toyota's succes in Europe, it needs to do something about the pricing and its engines. I look forward to the new Civic!
I have a 1.5 petrol with the cvt box, it averages 52 mpg, at 67 mph it's only doing about 2000 rpm, you don't need to go about 3000 rpm when on main roads, it's a very good car.
Yes, it's the BBC though - they wouldn't know talent if it squatted over them and farted. Best evidence of this is that Grimshaw bloke who presents on R1.
Even if you don't give a stuff about which car is being appraised the reviews are always entertainingly consistent in their format and style and very watchable - could do with Mat presenting for longer on a more in depth car-type TV show ;)
I am from Bangladesh and I got the hybrid one from Japan. The 1.5 litre hybrid has a combined horsepower of 159 as compared to 130 in this one. Plus it is more fuel efficient. But the bad part is, you cant find a brand new one.

That cow sound is accurate. I drove a friend's HRV and when stepping harder on the gas you hear that sound. It kinda sounds like when you're stuck in 1st gear in an automatic transmission.

I don't get the cvt bashing. My new HRV has plenty of power and is so quiet you can barely hear it. I think the cvt is fantastic. Just hoping it does good in the snow.
You should flash your height every time you do seat room, and maybe include how many square feet the cargo room amounts to in the back, and also when the back seats are lowered.
It cost 65K pounds in Singapore and 1 can only use it for 10yrs. Low spec 1.5 CVT model only. Grey imports you get the 1.5 DCT Hybrid. Now from Japan. Previously for Thailand factory...using the older SOHC 1.5. No sun roof, no side step, no honda sense, no hard trunk cover.

Trying to move an SUV with 1.5 liters and you wonder why it makes noise? Even the 1.8 we get is too small, but if I could afford it I would probably get one. 35 MPG with the 1.8 and manual.
Just thought of a useful invention for a car. Fit a flush inset upside down letter T shape long handle on the back of the rear seat that pivots at the base of the T shape so you can easily push/pull the rear seat into position when your stood at the back of the car instead of straining yourself trying to pull it back at the top of the seat or mess about going to the rear door and pushing it back into position.
Ive got virtually the same spec and the wide alloy wheels really bump over bad surfaces. Also the steering lock is terrible.
