I love it when people who own dressage horses are open to jumping. I love how you change what you do because I agree; dressage is repetitive. its fine with the smaller jumps, however its a lot easier for the rider, coming from experience when my mare decided that she would fly over the trotting poles as if it were at least 2ft...
I completely agree with what you said regarding doing different things. Dressage horses can benefit from some jumping work, and jumpers can benefit from dressage work. Not only is it something new and different, but doing one will give you and the horse tools that they can bring back to the other.

@@theerinwilliams Exactly! I've always been of the opinion that cross discipline training is incredibly important. He did great, but if you wanna do the jumping again maybe try to get more out of your saddle and stay out of you saddle for a step after the jump. and also put your hands forward and keep them more forward for as long as you stay out of the saddle. That should help him arch his back and make he want to jump it.

He's always cute Erin! ❤️
He did great, but if you wanna do the jumping again maybe try to get more out of your saddle and stay out of you saddle for a step after the jump. and also put your hands forward and keep them more forward for as long as you stay out of the saddle. That should help him arch his back and make he want to jump it.
It’s a dressage saddle with large knee rolls on the front. She has a very gentle seat, and he’s never jumped in his life so for a first attempt this is really damn good. I think she knows what she’s doing😅
